    Chopped Salad

Even though you can Mobile Order at this quick service restaurant, servers were very friendly and our food came out quickly on a Friday (early) evening. And we really enjoyed our items including the Burger, Chopped Salad and Loaded Brisket Fries. Warning: the fries are salty!

    Mango Bread Breakfast
    Adrian F.

I walked into Oak & Star Tavern expecting bacon and coffee. Instead, I got a QR code, a phone checkout, and breakfast served with a side of Silicon Valley efficiency. You don't order from a human here. You scan, scroll, tap, and pay--like you're buying stocks, except the ROI is carbs. It's quick-service dining for people who already have Apple Pay unlocked before they sit down. And honestly? It works. I ordered the mango bread breakfast, which sounds like something a yoga influencer would whisper about--and it was actually good. Soft, sweet, not cloying, and clearly made by someone who understands that breakfast should comfort you, not challenge you to a duel. It's the kind of dish that says, "Relax. You're on vacation. No one is emailing you right now." Service was shockingly friendly, especially for a place where technology does most of the talking. Staff were smiling, helpful, and present--like actual humans, not NPCs guarding a condiment station. That alone deserves recognition in 2026. The vibe? Casual, clean, efficient. This is not a linger-for-three-hours tavern. This is "eat well, hydrate, and go face the park" energy. It knows its role and plays it cleanly. Now, let's be honest--this isn't a soulful, slow-burn, sit-down breakfast joint where a griddle cook knows your name. This is modern theme-park survival dining, executed better than it has any right to be. Oak & Star Tavern won't change your life. But it will feed you well, quickly, and without stress--which, frankly, is a public service. Come hungry. Bring your phone. And accept that even breakfast has gone digital.

Huli Huli pulled pork sandwhich with Harissa cauliflower
    Kristi B.

We stopped in for lunch while we were at Epic Universe. It was a seat yourself situation and mobile ordering using the app at the table operation. I got the Huli Huli pulled pork sandwhich with the harissa cauliflower. Pork was really good - very lean. The sauce is at the table so to control what type of sauce you put on and how much. Love this! The Huli Huli sauce is a little sweeter. The harissa cauliflower was great. It does have some spice to it but I didn't find it over powering. My husband got the brisket sandwhich. Said the brisket was good but the fun kind of struggle to stay together. The French fries he got are dusted with a bbq flavoring spice. They were tasty. Park admission is required to dine here.

2 meat and one side platter $26.

The food was ok. St. Louis ribs were delicious but the brisket was salty. The mango bread was delicious. Not to crazy about having to do mobile order. I'll give it another try on my next visit to Epic Universe. Pricey. Ordering is via mobile order. Very quiet!:

    Live band

This is for The Plastered Owl which is inside of The Oak & Star Tavern to the right. When I walked in there was a band playing. Uggh, I don't like live music, but I wanted to fulfill my quest of trying every bar at Epic. I sat down and tried a $25 Plastered Owl. I unfortunately did not get plastered. The drink was alright, a lot of ice. The next drink I tried was the $17 Dapper Deer's Old Fashioned. It was also just ok. Once again, a ton of ice. If you're into live music maybe you'd like this spot. The two guys sang Taylor Swift, and songs you're going to recognize.

Okay, I'm going to be honest here. I was having an amazing day at Epic Universe, and it was time for lunch. The original plan was to try the pizza at Pizza Moon. We were curious since the reviews are extremely positive. Unfortunately, the line was horrible, and standing under the sun for an hour just wasn't feasible. So, we walked right next door and discovered the Oak and Star Tavern. It turned out to be a great decision. We walked in and were immediately greeted by an attendant who took the time to explain the menu and how to order for faster service. We found a table, scanned the QR code, and placed our order. I got the two meat plate, and my son had the pulled pork sandwich. For sides, I chose mac and cheese, and he went with the fries. A server brought our food and yes, they use real silverware! The brisket was good, not dry at all. The ribs were average, and the mac and cheese was solid as well. I was satisfied, although the portion size was on the smaller side. My son said his sandwich was really good, and the fries were amazing. All in all, I'll definitely try this place again on my next visit. I can't wait until this park is added to the annual pass, because I'll be here often. Before I forget: the restaurant is huge, with plenty of tables, great decor, and a very cold A/C.

We had dinner before leaving the park. It wasn't busy at all. Service was slow for no reason. But the food was delicious. We had the Smoked Masters BBQ Feast. We ordered the ribs, chicken, brisket and pulled pork as our meats and the Mac& cheese, coleslaw, beans, and cheddar biscuits as our sides. The feast automatically comes with mango bread as a side. It was a lot of food! Enough for 4 adults to share. We also got the sticky cake as a sweet to end the meal. And of course some beers from the Plastered Owl bar to quench our thirst!

    Daphney D.

Awesome restaurant within Epic Universe! Live band playing music sets the vibe indoors. Ample seating, good service, and menu has a great selection. Mango bread is outstanding! 10/10. The Mac and cheese was solid. Smoked harissa cauliflower had good flavor but I did not appreciate the texture. Crooked Can cloud chaser beer was ice cold. Did not get to try any BBQ items, as this was just a quick snack, but will be back to try additional menu items. Beautiful restaurant.

    Julie C.

They are the best. This is my second time coming. The customer service is phenomenal. The food is great. Clean bathrooms, clean restaurant great service. To me, it's the best place out of the entire park

Brisket, ribs, beans, pickles - solid for sure
    Thomas P.

Any big park needs a BBQ place right?! O&S delivers well but not superbly. I enjoyed it for sure and will be back through the years. Like most places, this is a mobile order and then they bring it to your table. There are 2 sides, the main dining room and the bar. The bar side has a stage with bands and that's where I was (and will be). Great time listening to live music and eating BBQ along with a cocktail. I got the brisket, ribs, and beans and it came with pickles and bread. Not really sure what the bread was, not cornbread, but nice and soft and tasty. Pickles were great. Wish there were more. The beans with burnt ends were really good. Totally enjoyed those. Before we get the meat, let's talk sauce. They have 4. Sweet (didn't try), Harissa (spicy and fantastic), smokey (forgettable), and Tropical Gold (delicious vinegar and heat). Nice to see 4 sauces on every table! For the meat, portions were small. 2 ribs and 2 slices of brisket. But with the sides it was a pretty decent meal. Not a gut buster but filling enough and not expensive. So a good value. The St. Louis ribs were decent. Didn't love them but they were tasty with a decent amount of meat on them. The star was clearly the brisket. Smoked for 14 hours. Good bark. tender. juicy. and with the Harissa and tropic gold sauces? I'd eat this all day. Did I mention it has AC??? So a great place to eat, unwind, cool off, grab a cocktail, and listen to some music. Definitely worth it.

    Mango Bread

Stopped in The Oak & Star Tavern with my niece after just arriving to the park for a snack. Was told we can sit anywhere and to order from the QR code on the table. We shared the Mango Bread, Smoked Cheddar Biscuits and Banana Pudding. Food came out pretty quick and I love everything.

Cheese only oak and star burger. With crinkle fries.
    Luke J.

Went here twice for Lunch! Both times were absolutely amazing! I ordered the oak and star burger. First time with the cheese only and with french fries, Absolutely outstanding. Next time with everything but without the jam, and with a side of the three cheese mac and cheese, The burger was Even better(mac and cheese was on par)! Service was relatively quick for restaurants. Ambiance was cool too! Good woodworking. Nice fireplace. Layout was fine. Would defo recommend coming here for a bite to eat.

    Ben J.

The restaurant is really cool inside. They were very detailed when designing it, and the center fireplace/clock/tree assembly helps give it an authentic fantasy vibe. The brisket sandwiches were delicious, and the cauliflower had an interesting smoky flavor. The mac and cheese was really good too. It would've been nice for the sides to be bigger because you can leave feeling a bit hungry. Overall, a great restaurant, though.

When we arrived the line was out the door and went around to the back. It was hot, but the team took great care of us. They made sure everyone had water, and for those of age they even offered one Smokemade Lager from Ten 10 Brewing. The line did move at a slow and steady pace. And I appreciate them for offering the waters, the beer, and for managing the line and keeping it orderly. Once it was my turn to order, I did my best not to order everything, but also did my best to pick some favorites. While there was only four of us, we wanted to have a spread and have leftovers. So I ordered two brisket sandwiches, one pulled pork sandwich, one philly sandwich, 6 ct- tallow fried wings (hot korean bbq), large side of cheddar grits, large side of pinto beans, large side of mac and cheese, and a large side of potato salad. When the sandwiches were being made I was immediately impressed by the amount of brisket and pulled pork being put on the sandwiches. While packing our food, I noticed they threw in a loaf of bread. When they handed it to me, I asked if the bread was our ls and they said it was. We didn't order it, but I am thinking since our order was over $100 it might be something that is included, not very sure. Once to my destination we unpacked all of the food and laid it out. It all looked so good, and the smell was out of this world. Everyone quickly made plates and dove it. It didn't take long for us to start commenting on how delicious everything was and that we loved it. The sandwiches were generously packed with super flavourful meat. The cheddar grits were amazing. Some of the best mac and cheese I have had. And the pinto beans were great and I loved the meat they include in the. While we all thought the potato salad was good, it was the least exciting of everything. I think we all prefer a wetter and more southern style. My wife did enjoy her philly, but did make the comment that it was more brisket tasting and not enough philly like. It was also packed with meat and looked amazing. The wings were a nice little addition, great flavor and cooked perfectly. And that free loaf of bread was fantastic, it was similar to a potato bread. Everything was so good and well with the wait. I look forward to my next meal here. The staff was phenomenal and so helpful. Everyone was in great spirits and did a wonderful job, especially considering how busy it was.

The mac and cheese also left me wanting more it just wasn't as rich as I hoped. That said, their collard greens were outstanding truly the star of the show. And the butter gooey cake? That was a sweet win. I also tried their Frisco fries, and they were decent, but I wouldn't rush back just for those. The ambience is really laid-back. It's like any regular barbecue place. I saw at least 3 to 4 tables of people sitting down and enjoying their barbecue and they seem to have a steady stream of traffic. The cashier who is also getting our food order together seemed really nice. She had a great personality. I honestly don't feel the need to go back and visit again. I feel like I would enjoy barbecue more from four rivers.

This is Oviedo's hidden treasure! The brisket is amazing (seriously - 4 Rivers and Bubbalou's…read moreshould be worried). It just fell apart in your mouth and had such a delicious flavor. I had the smaller bowl (1 meat and 2 sides) and it was enough to feed me for 2 meals. OMG the beans! There were 3 or 4 types of beans in it and it was incredibly hard to not gobble them all down instead of saving some for my hubby to try at home. My friend had the cornbread casserole which she said is her favorite side after the beans (I'm GF so I couldn't have that but I wanted to!). Another friend had the Bbq brisket sandwich with potato salad and she said the potato salad was really tasty. Just so you know - this is a very small restaurant. No inside seating, just picnic tables outside. (Some are shaded.) There is an area outside to wash your hands after eating and you can download their app and order online which gets you $5 off your meal (that's a good deal) but even without a discount, the food is worth every penny and the portions are generous.

I used their app to order online because I had heard they sell out. I ordered a brisket and ribs…read morecombo that came with a side and drink. Plus a pulled pork sandwich. It was ready when I pulled up to the lot adjacent to the BBQ restaurant. There is outside seating only and a sink to clean up afterwards. I went in and my food was ready. I opened it and was checking for the extra pickles which were an option in the app. The person who handed me the food said that they had not had pickles in some time because they were having issues with the supplier. Darn. So I decided to eat my pulled pork sandwich at the picnic tables outside. Actually the tables are not that far from the road where cars and trucks whizzed by. I went back and asked for more bbq sauce because I got two small cups of bbq sauce which had about 3 tablespoons of liquid each. Pulled pork always sucks up a lot of sauce. There was plenty of meat and the bun was fresh but overall it would have been perfect with some acid from the pickles. My brisket and rib meal was excellent. I ate it later and I found the southern green beans to be good. I would definitely get this combo again. It came with a drink which is a canned soft drink. It doesn't say on the app but they also have bottled water. Overall I felt this restaurant lived up to all the hype. Check the app for $5 off on your first order. See QR code in the picture.

The front staff remembers us every time we go. I am obsessed with the herbal and spicy hot pot, so I usually have them make it 50/50 mix. The vegetables are fresh and there's a wide selection of meats and seafood. I also like to make my dipping sauce with the garlic sauce blend. My favorite is the Galbi which is seasoned well. Both savory and sweet. Another obsession is the asago dessert which is a tapioca pearls, black beans, fruits and jelly in a sweet coconut milk. I really enjoy going here since it's a good alternative to other AYCE in the surrounding vicinity because of the better quality. I want to see this place get more traffic because it's hidden in the old JoAnn's shopping center next to Aldi. There's plenty of parking in the commercial lot.

You can pick one or add the other for only $5 more. They have a good selection of meats, veggies, and others. The app selection isn't my favorite compared to other restaurants but still varied. And the sauce bar is always stocked. If you're hungry, this is the place to go!

The restaurant also offers plenty of room to stay and enjoy your food both indoors and outdoors. It was way too hot so decided to get mine to go. The plate is massive! Lots for chopped brisket and fries. Toast was soggy due to the condensation from the meat so just ok for me. The beans were sweet and smokey, an unexpected treat. The mac & cheese was dry. Didn't care for it. The Brisket - very good. Fell apart. However, I would have preferred it not chopped but sliced instead but still very tasty. And get the sweet BBQ sauce. Adds some depth to the meat. Overall, not bad. Solid 7/10 for me. Give it a go if you're in the area and looking for some quick smoked goodness.

The brisket wasn't as juicy as I would've liked. The fries were okay. Wish they were seasoned crinkle cut. The Mac and cheese was downright terrible. Like watered down velveeta. The barbecue sauce was so necessary because otherwise everything else tasted the same. Their sauces were good but again not anything unique. I probably wouldn't return unless I couldn't get bbq elsewhere.
