The service is incredible and the restaurant is so comfortable and cute. We were driving back home to Texas when we found Sonny's Cafe. When walking into the restaurant we felt like we were already home in Texas, the decor is very country. We also noticed the eye pleasing deserts they had in there pie fridge and a big cake on the counter. I had the chicken fried steak, as suggested by the waitress. They did not hold back on the size of the steak it was bigger than my face but still thick in the middle, the egg wash they used was a little much it was still noticeable on the inside of the crust. I stopped by here after a funeral at Dibble Cemetery. After the sadness of putting my mom into the ground, it was great to have a wonderful chicken fried steak before my drive back to Dallas. The food here is awesome. The service was great too. They serve very large portions. I couldn't eat the whole chicken fried steak. From what I could see, the food that my family members got was also really great. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their food. I will make trips up to Dibble to visit my mom's grave at least once a year, so I will definitely be back. read more

I can't believe this place had such good reviews. I was so unimpressed! I should've just driven all the way to Tiffany's. We stopped here today on our way back to Norman, and I accidentally passed the exit for Tiffany's and I didn't want to make the extra seven minutes I think it was, so we stopped here instead. First of all, it was more than a 50 minute wait for our food. I was charged two dollars for an orange juice that was about the size of a McDonald's kids cup. The server was very sweet, but she was way too busy for her own good. By the time our food finally arrived, I was so sad at its flavor. The biscuits were delicious, and the sausage patty was delicious, it kind of tasted like blue and gold, great flavor and great texture. Smoked sausage was pretty good, but it was basically about two bites worth. Everything else was crap. My scrambled eggs were way over-done, they were browned way too much, and it totally took away from the egg flavor. The bacon was way under-done, super flimsy and very fatty. My hashbrowns were very greasy and super under-cooked on the inside and almost burnt on the outside. I looked up at her after she put my plate down to study her face, just to see if she was seriously going to put that plate in front of me, and she did. They were the worst hashbrowns I think I've ever had! And the silver dollar pancakes weren't messing around. They were literally about the size of a Silverdollar, and had a very wire-y texture, not fluffy at all. My friend said that her regular size ones were not disgusting, but decent at best. But mine were absolutely disgusting! It's the first time I've ever left so much food uneaten, I absolutely adore breakfast food! I absolutely love this place. I was referred by a friend to eat at Sonny's Cafe and I was blown away. I have always had an issue going places and getting Meals that fill me up. The portion sizes at Sonny's Cafe are perfect. Ordered the chicken fried Chicken dinner and was pleased when I saw the plate put in front of me. Large portioned, and taste on point. Would have to rank it near top of the chicken fried chicken meals I have had in the state of Oklahoma. Was so pleased with my meal I ordered another chicken fried chicken to take home. I would strongly recommend trying this place out. Only issue I had was the waitress refilled my Pepsi with sweet tea. Which was surprisingly good. Drank tea for remainder of my meal. read more

Wow, what an incredible find just a bit off the beaten path. I was looking for a great diner or dive for breakfast and this place was amazing. Very clean with an incredibly nice waitstaff. The menu is perfect size, not 16 pages to sift through. Omelettes, skillets, pancakes, and regular old breakfast items. Found this by the billboard. Had chicken fried steak French fries, pintos, and salad. CFS was homemade, tender and seasoned and cooked just right with just right amount of gravy. They were thin with a gritty texture and had a weird flavor unlike any instant mashed potato I've had before. Also no dinner roll or cornbread came with the meal. This restaurant has everything going for it. The decor is rustically beautiful & comfortable. It's fascinating that they have 2 huge barn doors that slide open to reveal another dining area; increasing room for customers by a third more tables. The waitstaff is top notch. There's no chasing the waitress down for refills or anything else. More importantly, there are no attitudes here. They act happy to see you and happy to serve you. There's even an older lady running around with a tray of "homemade" mouthwatering desserts. You just can't resist after hearing her descriptions. The food is the best. It's always good. No guessing here. If it sounds like I'm being effusive; you're right. You need to understand that this is one of Oklahoma's golden establishments. I love this place. You will, too. I don't know why it's showing to be in the middle of Purcell, but it's on the south side as you're heading toward Wayne. Sonny's is a relatively new restaurant, serving chicken fry, catfish, burgers, and the like along with some pretty good chef salads. The interior is a country/farm motif with antique business signs, wrought iron art on the walls, solid wood tables and tvs. They serve Pepsi products (good, because I hate coke) and the tea is decent. The waitresses are always prompt and cheerful, even when it's packed at lunch time. Their chicken fry is the best in the area and that's what I always get. Pleasant experience for lunch on a daytrip. Wife loved the chicken fried steak. Huge with crunchy crust. Both loved their style of fries which are mildly seasoned and coated with a dusting of a crust. Also loved the mashed potatoes. Had the side salad bar plate and pleasantly surprised at how fresh the choices were. Our waitress was outstanding and attentive to us and the tables around us.
