The staff was great and the decor is great it's all pictures of actors and actresses from the late 70s and 80s. They have a jukebox that was playing music that goes along with the decor. I had two hot dogs deep fried one was the Springsteen which was good and the other was the Chicago which I thought was better than one from Chicago there take is similar to what you get in Chicago just a little different but better. Yum! First time ordering take out and it was delicious! I had the blue cheese bacon burger and onion rings. The burger was cooked perfectly and came with fries. The fries were crispy and tasty. The onion rings were the best I had in awhile...not seasoned or too much breading. As I write this my mouth is watering, that's how good they were. We came into an empty restaurant and we were the first to order. After 10 minutes other people arrived and ordered. After 50 minutes of waiting we noticed 4 tables around us who ordered later get their food first while we still hadn't even gotten our appetizer. Terrible service read more

My sister heard a recommendation for this place and mentioned it to me at work this morning. We decided to go for lunch with my daughter since she had no school today and I am so glad we went! The inside has some great decor, tons of fun pictures and signs hanging everywhere. The owner came over to our table to take our orders, and since it was our first time there he gave us an overview of everything and answered all of our questions. I ended up getting the grilled shrimp burger. Holy crap it was fantastic. The shrimp was amazing, burger cooked perfectly, and the fries are awesome. My sister got the chili cheese burger and loved it. My daughter got the pulled pork burger and an order of Mac n cheese on the side. We tasted the pork before she killed the burger and it was nothing short of spectacular! The Mac n cheese, even better! She put the Mac on her burger with the pork and devoured the entire thing. After lunch, we seriously had nothing left on our plates. We almost felt guilty for not bringing the guys with us, but it gave us an excuse to go back sooner! Sonny, the owner, came by to make sure everything was good, and we saw him hopping around to every table in the place to check on everyone and chat. This is such an adorable spot. It brings you back in time when you use to cruise down Route 66 in your 66' Corvette listening to Frank Sinatra. The food wasn't your typical burger and hot dog- there was a twist! The Mac and cheese burger, Johnny Dog, and chili cheese fries were beyond satisfying and a must try! We wanted a fun environment with a different vibe. Sonny's Grille hosted THE BEST party. Our guests won't stop texting and calling me about the food, the atmosphere and the service. It was truly amazing. Sonny and his Family treated us like we were their own. I highly recommend this spot. The burgers, hot dogs, pulled work, wings, apps were just amazing. But Sonny's doesnt just have an array of delicious hotdogs, he has some burgers that are equally as good and the bacon and cheese froes where a homerun. Major disappointment. Mediocre at best. I'm confused how it has all 5 star reviews. I ordered a plain fried dog and a chicken cheesesteak. The plain fried dog was extremely salty. Nothing special. Actually Ruts Hut is much better in north jersey. The chicken cheesesteak with cheese sauce had a weird taste to it. It reminded me of bowling alley food. Maybe if I was drunk rolling out of a bar at 2am hungry it might be good. Never going back. read more

This is an old experience I forgot to share. Went in to try what I thought was their signature item, Italian hotdog. It barely qualified as an Italian hotdog let alone a signature item.
