Typical hole in the wall hotdog spot. Not to bad, I like the traditional ambiance and old school feel. Nothing super spectacular to write about or complain for that matter. The cheese fries were good and my daughter liked da hotdogs, and the staff was cool. So again, no complaints at all. I'd return if I was in the area.

    These are some great hotdogs...

Stopped by to try out one of their chili dogs on the way home from the shore and I'm glad I did. Placed the order at the counter and it was a very short wait for the order. They have both inside and outside seating so we chose to sit outside since it's a beautiful sunny day. The hotdog was plump and juicy and had that great snap when you bite into it and the chili was so good too! I just wish the roll was a little more substantial. Employees were very nice and friendly and thanked us for coming on the way out too... Definitely stop by for a great hotdog when your in the area...

The famous hot dog (must order), California burger, and fries.

Definitely get the hot dogs. Great snap, flavorful and juicy. The hot dogs sit on a flat-top, ready for customers walking in. I heard a few people requesting their dogs "on the fire", which means they throw them on the grill grates (where burgers are prepared). I'll have to try that next time. Burger had a nice char-broiled flavor, which hit me with a wave of nostalgia. Fries were just okay, I could skip those next time. Overall, recommend for a quick bite!

I checked the menu on their website and it looked like a great place with delicious food. But when we got there, and got our food, we were disappointed. The food was disgusting. I wouldn't recommend eating here.

Stopped here after craving it for a long time. I just happened to be in the area. The hot dog was delicious. Just as advertised. Big and juicy. The free sautéed onions made it. Brown mustard of course. Cheeseburger was charbroiled and tasty. The crinkle cut fries were nice and crispy. And a cold root beer. The server was great too. Nice guy. Can't wait to return.

Nice clean place inside. I ordered a chili dog, fries and a soda. They gave me the choice of a well done dog or not. (I like it well) The fries were frozen crinkle cut. The dog was big though not that flavorful. The chili was good like homemade style, not the sauce type. Overall it was good except for the price. $10 for a dog, fries and a drink. Too much for me. I probably won't be back because of that.

    Chili dogs and french fries.

Dog didn't have much flavor, the roll is standard and the price is outrageous...$6.00. Never again.

I've never eaten in, but they have indoor and outdoor seating and always have some good indie/rock playing on the radio for those who want a sit-down meal. I've probably ordered here close to 100 times and have only have 2 order issues. I brought it to the management's attention the last time and they were super professional and took care of it ASAP. The burgers are great, and the last time I tried their cheesesteak which normally comes with cherry peppers and red onion. I asked for it plain, and it was super delicious. Portion sizes are solid, and prices are reasonable considering the area. We actually ended up here because Pasta Volo -- one of my favorite spots in Asbury Park -- was closed that day. The Speakeatery made for a great backup. You order at the counter, and the service is decent. The space is long and narrow with some stool seating up front and more table and chair seating towards the back. The grill and kitchen are situated in the middle of the restaurant. The place only has indoor seating, which fits the speakeasy vibe nicely. Overall, I'd recommend The Speakeatery for breakfast or lunch when you're visiting Asbury Park for the day.

Because the kitchen is open to the dining area, I watched the cook handling raw chicken with a gloved hand while putting the chicken kabobs on the grill. He then continued using that same glove to assemble orders, touching pita and putting his hand into the lettuce. At no point did I see him change his glove. I continued watching because I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing. Then I watched him put a raw piece of salmon on the grill and continue handling cooked food with the same glove. At that point, I went to the register and explained what I had witnessed. The cashier's response was, "Of course!" and she immediately yelled to the cook to change his glove. I calmly explained that the lettuce had potentially been contaminated through the repeated handling of raw chicken and salmon and should not continue to be served. We ended up throwing approximately half of our dinner away because we were no longer comfortable eating it. I was not looking to make a scene, and I wasn't even planning to write a review. But I feel obligated to share this because the cashier's reaction made me concerned that this may not have been an isolated or unexpected issue. I sincerely hope management addresses this with the kitchen staff and reviews proper food-handling procedures. Unfortunately, after today's experience, we will not be returning.

I…read morewalked into Five Guys in Ocean Township not knowing what to expect -- and walked out wondering why I waited so long to experience burger heaven. Ocean Township, NJ - Route 66 Location Let me start by saying: WOW. I'm honestly still thinking about the lunch I had today at this Five Guys location in Ocean Township off Route 66. This was my very first time trying Five Guys -- and I had no idea what I was missing out on until now. Walking in, the place had a fun and casual vibe -- bright red-and-white tiles, open kitchen, the sound of sizzling burgers, and the smell of freshly made fries instantly put me in the mood for a good meal. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there, which made the whole experience even better. Now let's get into the star of the show: the patty melt. I had heard people rave about Five Guys, but nothing could've prepared me for just how delicious this was. The patty melt came out hot, fresh, and oozing with melty cheese layered between two buttery slices of grilled bread. The beef patties were cooked to juicy perfection -- flavorful and savory with that satisfying charred edge that makes each bite feel indulgent in the best way. Add to that the sweet caramelized onions and a subtle crunch from the toasted bread, and I was genuinely blown away. It's comfort food elevated to pure magic. And of course, I couldn't skip the fries. Five Guys doesn't just give you a serving -- they give you a mountain of fries, overflowing from the cup and spilling gloriously into the bottom of the bag. Golden, crispy, and full of that real potato taste you can only get from hand-cut fries, they were fried in peanut oil to perfection. Salty, satisfying, and dangerously addictive. The drink station was clean and fully stocked, and I loved being able to customize my soda with the Coca-Cola freestyle machine. Bonus points for how spotless the entire dining area was, even during what looked like a busy lunch hour. What stood out the most for me was the consistency and quality. Everything felt made with care -- not rushed, not over-processed, just real ingredients prepared well. As someone who enjoys discovering new food spots, I can honestly say this experience went above and beyond what I expected from a burger joint. If you're in the Ocean Township area and haven't stopped by this Five Guys yet, do yourself a favor and go. Whether you're a burger fanatic or just looking for a satisfying, flavorful meal, this spot absolutely delivers. I'm already planning my next visit -- and yes, next time I'll be trying one of their famous milkshakes. Five Guys, you've officially earned a new fan.

After ordering our meals, total came up to around $40. While we were eating, my daughter noticed a toy that she liked, that came with the kids meal. I realized that my daughter didn't get the kids meal, but the meal I purchased for her cost more than the kids meal, so I told my daughter I will see if I can get it, since we do order a meal for her. I want to also note that my daughter had autism, and it's hard for her to understand some things. So I waited to talk to the manager, to see if I could get the toy, even though she didn't get the kids meal, and I could pay the difference. He replied "No, you must order a kids meal". I advised him that it's just me, my wife, and my daughter, and she really wanted the toy, and to purchase another meal, after I just spent $40 on 3 meals for us. And I could understand if we weren't purchasing anything, but we did. I asked again if I could purchase it separately. He denied me again. How much could this toy really mean to him, that he would deny a autistic child. I said I don't understand the big deal. Good customer service would like to see a child happy, not nickel and dime me for $6, to buy another meal. Good customer service would had a little empathy for a father trying to explain that he is just trying to get a toy for his daughter. I grew up around this location, and have been in it only a few times, and now never again. And coming here and Google, I see that I'm not the only one. Bad reviews everywhere.
