Before I talk about the review of this place and the food, I would like to say you can't always believe what you read in reviews. They can be very subjective and you really have to come and experience it for yourself ! This is the BEST and CLEANEST fast food place that I have ever eaten at. I normally do not eat fast food as I work out and eat healthy. However, I trust the owners for the cleanliness and I do eat the Turkey and Veggie burgers and they are delicious. They always buy quality, fresh meat and I can trust that I won't get dirty grease on my burger than otherwise may upset my sensitive stomach! I have indulged in some of their fries at times but only a few and they are definitely not greasy. Love the decor and ambience! I've been here twice so far and enjoyed the food. Hot dogs are great - love all of the combinations. Their chili is friggin delicious! Only gripe about the hot dogs is that they are small. I wish they were bigger to stand up better to all of the toppings but all in all very delicious. The wings were perfectly crispy - I only tried the standard buffalo. They were good but not my favorite. I hear they made great burgers so I'm dying to go back and order one. Stopped into Sonny's Grille today last week for lunch, Sonny's presents itself as clean & tidy which is always a plus ! The gentleman who owns the place is there daily to make sure everything goes well. We arrived around 1pm they took our order and everything came out of the kitchen about 25 minutes later. Not too bad but figured it would come much sooner since the place was empty. The food was good & had decent flavor. One thing I will note is that the cheese sauce they use for menu items is always cold, I would suggest warming the cheese sauce before applying it to hot food. The rest of our order was good, we had a chicken sammi, cheese steak ( made with real meat ) and wings. The chicken sandwich was very light on the meat. The wings were the best thing out of everything we ordered, crispy, good buffalo sauce & lots of meat. Overall I would come back but it wouldn't be my very first option. This place is awesome. As s local I'm really glad I found it. I swear. The hot dogs are simply amazing. Shoot even the fries with malt vinegar are amazing. The entire staff is friendly and courteous. The owner is always engaged and they truly care about the food they serve. I honestly can't say enough about this place. God awful. I've been in Belmar with family for the week trying to make the most of these precious days off, and the town has treated me well! Great community, night life is as much as I require for a good time, and I'd still be having a good time right now if I wasn't glued to my toilet! And don't get me wrong, I know what to expect as far as hot dog BM's; THIS IS NOT THE USUAL (I can't stress this enough!!!). Tonight was supposed to be the night we bar hop and really explore the bar scene around here, and now the only place I'd think of dragging myself to is the emergency room. One burger, as plain as they come (no weird toppings for me, I'm a simpleton) and HALF a hot dog. How on God's given Earth you could manage to mess these staples of our society up is beyond me. We ordered through door dash. BLT, hamburger, salad, and grilled chicken sandwich were all very, very good. My husband pronounced it the best burger around which, coming from him, is saying something. The fries were a liiitle salty but overall awesome. It's a hot dog place, but it's a really good hot dog place. I can only comment on the chili dogs and fries because I'm kind of a hot dog purist and I haven't tried anything else. Fries are great. I wish they had a smaller size mainly because the serving is huge and I end up eating way more than I should. Dogs are good, not sure what brand, I go with the dirty water style. Chili is delicious, need to ask next time if they sell it by the pint, would love to have it for my next bbq. Only issue is that service seems to be a little slow, but everything is made to order and the music they play is always awesome so I don't mind the wait. read more

Sonny's burgers are phenomenal and so are the fries. They have many creative combinations and the ingredients are fresh and full of flavor. Burger was big, cheesy and messy--just perfect. Also loved the decor--with lots of rock n roll and Hollywood memorabilia--appropriately heavy on Springsteen and the Sopranos. Our waitress Nikki was so nice and very knowledgeable about the menu selections. The prices are incredibly reasonable for such excellent quality--plus it's BYOB--for extra savings. Found Sonny's Grille, it is a hidden charm in Belmar. Went with a family of six and ambiance and staff were so friendly! Niki our waitress was so welcoming. We met her dad the owner and he came out to make sure everything was to our liking. The menu is fun from traditional to cool funky crazy dogs and fries. Don't under estimate the burgers and cheesesteak though, they were very juicy. The final touch is the deep fried Oreos! Clean local spot and very affordable. We will definitely stop by again next time we come to Belmar. read more

We traveled from Massachusetts to New Jersey to visit friends and see some things, maybe do some surfing, visit diners, heard there was a jersey devil to look for, anyway I digress. This spot was incredible. The waitress, didn't get her name but she was very nice, probably like 5'7 brown hair pulled back, could've been naturally curly when it's down but I'm not sure, I'm just gonna call them beach waves...anyway, she was super nice and cordial and welcoming literally as soon as we walked in the door. She really talked up my sandwich (the Jerry Seinfeld, you WON'T be disappointed...in the sandwich. It's better than the show. The show wasn't great.) and let me tell you, couple hot dogs wrapped in bacon inside a grilled cheese, holy HECK. My friend got the Al Capone, which he said was also great but I didnt get it so I'm gonna have to try it next time. Anyway, Sonny himself came over and offered us a gift certificate if we knew who the musician was playing over the jukebox, it was Sinatra (old blue eyes for those in the know) I knew it immediately because my grandmother loved him so I'm pretty well-versed musically. On our way out the door, the waitress wished us safe travels and I'm pretty sure shot the finger guns at us which was tight and Sonny himself met us at the door and wished us well and shook our hands and thanked us for visiting. My cousins have lived in this area for many years, but have only found out about this place recently. After spending an afternoon at Pt. Pleasant, we went to this place on a whim coming home. As one of us was craving chili cheese fries, this all-American restaurant was perfect! The restaurant is nuzzled in a plaza, with a big parking lot. The lot was full, but there is plenty of street parking around it. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cool, for a lack of a better word. The walls were covered with photographs, instruments, posters, gadgets, etc. The time flew waiting for our food just admiring the decorations. It had a laid back, sports type of vibe. The cashier was VERY friendly and was helpful in ordering the correct amount of food. We got one order or chili cheese fries and jalapeno poppers, as we only wanted a snack.
