I had the good fortune of finding this business when I lived in Sonoma from 2016 to 2020. I now reside in Phoenix and have not been able to find an optometry Center in Phoenix that carries My Caroline Abram glass frames from France. I desperately needed nose guards , and could not find them on line! They most graciously sent me a replacement pair free within a week! This office is run very efficiently and professionally. I have been pleased with the Doctor and staff . I was however fairly disappointed yesterday when I was unable to take home my first ever pair of prescription Sunglasses. The glasses were there with my RX , but not in a sunglass form . I was hoping to have them as I have been working outside in the sun all day and still need to be able to read a computer screen, wine labels etc. As a former healthcare professional myself I was always taught to check things 3 three times . Dr. Kevin Martin is an extremely capable and nice doctor. However, since he has left the office, the little gossipy girls working in the reception area are snippy, rude, lazy, and have the attitude that they'll do "it" when they get ready. My last two visits I have had to bite my tongue, if you don't question what they're doing they'll charge you for things that your insurance is to pay for and they send notices at 7 pm to tell you to pick up your glasses, knowing the office is closed, your eyeglass order sits on their desk for 2-3 days before sending it off, you sit outside the office for 10-15 minutes waiting for them to acknowledge you so that you can come in because they're too busy gossiping.... my last visit here was today.... read more

The optometrist I saw for my exam was thorough and patiently listened to all my questions and concerns about my issues with driving at night, reading, and seeing distance (basically everything that starts going downhill with your eyes when you hit 50). I had a great experience here today. The stem on my glasses had detached and I wondered if they could repair it. The kind clerk replied that she would try. She went into the back room, emerged with my repaired Gucci glasses, and announced she had replaced a nut When I asked what I owed, she replied, "No charge." I have been going to Sonoma Optometry Center for eye tests and glasses for a couple of years now. On my most recent visit, my appointment was with an optometrist who hadn't seen me before, Dr Joelle Zarzana. It was a great experience. Dr Zarzana is extremely thorough and attentive. There is a history of Glaucoma in my family, and Dr Zarzana was clearly extremely knowledgeable and experienced in this area, more so than any other optometrist I have consulted with. She gave me a lot of confidence that future eye tests, diagnoses, advice and treatments will be timely, accurate and correct. Five stars! read more

I've been going to the Sonoma Optometry Center for years and have always been very well taken care of. In the last two years, Dr. Zarzana has provided my annual checkup which has been amazing. My neck was hurting at work due to my progressive prescription. Dr. Zarzana recommended using computer glasses which was a game changer. Be aware that the initial part of the exam is virtual and you have to pay $39 extra for them to take photos of your retina, which is not covered by the VSP Insurance. My daughter (college student) consented to the retinal photos (for $39) so I can't get that back but it seems like a lot of money for photos that were probably all electronically transmitted to the off site optician to review. She had to come into the office for the glasses. Again, just be aware that the $39 that they charge for "retinal photos" is not covered by insurance. read more

About a year ago I walked through the door of this company wearing a mask and having my temp taken at the door. I was eventually met by a gal who helped me select my frames and took my order for glasses and sunglasses. The eyeglasses were just fine after a few in-house tweaks and I have enjoyed wearing them. Unfortunately my sunglasses had to be redone for poor marking by the technician. Most eyeglass wearers know that our glasses need to be readjusted for daily wear and tear and every place I've done business with over 27 years are happy to provide the service with a smile. Not here. You will get your glasses back covered in fingerprints with no offer to clean them. You have to ask ... nicely. Then there was the day I really needed service after my frames were accidentally, horribly bent. The receptionist tried to discourage me from even asking for a fix. Whaaaat!? I was handled by a manager who likewise warned me that her effort to straighten them for me could result in complete fracture of the frame. So there was a clear and present risk, but worth taking given my "eyes" were on the line. The woman made minimal Improvement in my frames and handed them to me with (you guessed it) her fingerprints all over the lenses. I made it wearing them and constantly correcting the cockeyed appearance for a few days before I called North Bay Eye Associates for help. My eye doctor is on staff at North Bay Eye. I was delighted when their optician made time for me right after Thanksgiving weekend. Success!! My glasses are nearly as good as new after optician K's skillful work. Needless to say I will not return to Sonoma Optometry. High level, professional Customer Service is NOT what you will find at Sonoma Optometry. The attitude of their staff is generally sour and tends to be a culture rather than a random bad day. read more

Dr Kevin is a great optometrist! He worked with me and recommended LASIK- which I went to a Dr in Santa Rosa and he coordinated my pre and post operative care. I can't believe I waited so long for LASIK! Best decision I ever made. Dr Kevin was very thorough with me during my recovery period and was always available if I had any questions. A few months after my procedure I was still having trouble seeing road signs without squinting, so he recommended I have an "enhancement" which is actually included within 6 months of any LASIK procedure. It is very easy to schedule appointments here and the staff is professional and courteous. read more
