I don't recommend! Not professional! They charged me for services and glasses that were covered by Medicare. When I picked up my glasses I stopped at a store and put my glasses on at checkout ... couldn't see a thing!!! The lenses were put in the opposite sides reversed! They fixed them but then the frames that were expensive only lasted a month, and I am very gentle with my glasses. read more

I have been coming here for my eye care for several years Dr Shadid and her professional, courteous staff do a fantastic job. She is so knowledgeable, personable and really takes the time necessary to make sure your eyes are healthy and the prescription and then glasses fitting are done properly. If there is an issue that she can't fully take care of, she'll recommend you to a specialist. She and her staff have adjusted to working with the new COVID-19 requirements and have made their office into a place that both their patients and themselves can feel safe and as protected as possible. From the nicely designed and installed plexiglass barrier at the counter, their new scrubs which feature a campaign-style button of each of them showing their smiling face (since we can't actually see their faces - nice detail), to the placards stating that spaces are sanitized, to their careful admittance procedure of temperature taking and hand sanitizing for each of us - all so well done. After spending years going to an ophthalmologist, thinking that they would be superior, I highly recommend Dr Shadid and her staff for your eye care needs. read more

I Thought I was doing the right thing, patronizing a local independent business not COSCO, Len's Crafters, or Walmart. Boy, am I disapointed with the lack of service after thle sale! I PURCHASED A $700 PAIR OF GLASSES WHICH NEEDED A REPLACEMENT BRIDGE/NOSE PIECE which deteriorated after a few years. BUT WAS TOLD "sorry we're to busy to help you, look on the internet yourself" I'll bet they would find time to sell me a new $700 pair of glasses. If you expect service after the sale, look elsewhere Paula D Shadid O.D. won't help you. I GUESS B.T. BARNUN WAS RIGHT "THERE'S A SUCKER BORN EVERY MINUTE. I wish I could give 0 stars!!! I've been wearing glasses and contacts for 20+ years and I've never experienced such a place. I was told to wear my contacts for the appointment and bring my glasses...normal procedure. I told Dr. Shadid that I was wearing my very last pair of contacts and I was needing a new prescription so I could order more (as my 1 yr was within a month). It was awkward from the get go... My exam was pretty normal (after a long wait after my scheduled appointment time). I brought my contact lens case along with my glasses. Did the exam with the contacts in and when it came time to check my glasses my contact lens case was missing. I told her I brought it and it was met with "I guess I can give you one since you didn't". Ummm...Okay, thanks. Weird. I opted for the additional exam of the eye and was dilated...only to find out the equipment wasn't working. She was very upset with the gentleman that tried to fix it. Sat in the waiting room for about 45 mins while they tried to fix it. Dr Shadid was training a young girl and got upset with her as well over something. All in all...I didn't get the additional exam, eyes dilated for 3 hrs, I received only one contact to "test"...last I checked I have 2 eyes, and they wouldn't give me my contact prescription. I spent $75.00 WITH my VSP (now I can't use the benefit) and I have nothing to show for it! Never again!!! read more

I highly recommend Dr. Shadid for your optometric needs. She and her staff are professional, courteous and extremely competent. This year I wanted to get a new contact lens prescription as well as computer glasses, along with a complete eye exam including dilation. Dr. Shadid was very thorough and patient during the exam and lens fittings, taking as much time as necessary to ensure the new contact lenses were just right. The computer glasses she prescribed have been fantastic and have eliminated the eye strain I was experiencing. They have a very nice selection of frames and take the time to be sure the frame style you select will work with your prescription and fit properly. read more

Dr. Shadid gave me a very thorough exam, she was articulate in explaining any questions I had for her. It was quite enjoyable picking out glasses. Both Dr. Shadid and her staff helped me choose them. I needed a pair of prescription sunglasses and reading glasses for work. I got a great pair of Maui Jim sun glasses and a pair of computer glasses for work - that work much better than the reading glasses I thought I needed. I like dr shadid, she is nice, thorough and knowledgeable. she has a nice office and takes my insurance. My only complaint is that it has gotten very schedule an appointment, my most recent one took three phone calls bc the newest secretary had to call me back every time I asked a question or requested a day or time, it was extremely frustrating from a customer perspective. I was also there two and a half hours while multiple customers were juggled. This was not my experience coming here the last several years so I truly hope it's a matter of new staff needing to learn the ropes read more

The doctor here is very detailed and both times I've been, my prescription has been really good. The first time, I got glasses and I came back after my second exam to get my first pair of prescription sunglasses which are great. The office staff is really helpful and nice, they didn't get impatient with my questions and explained my insurance to me. I used to go to a different office that seemed to want me to leave asap but i never got that feeling here. I got in for an appointment really quickly both times. I was thinking about getting lasik and they referred me to two different lasik centers and explained the process but I'm too scared for now. Maybe next year. read more

They even managed to get me in with fairly short notice and accomodated my schedule cheerfully for a follow up visit. I appreciated how careful Dr. Shadid was with various eye health tests (compared to many practitioners who were much less thorough over the years) and making sure my prescription was accurate. This was especially important since I'd had to go without for a few years and really needed a new prescription and glasses. I've been going to Dr Shadid for 2 years now. She is ** very thorough ** and wants the best for your eyes health. The only negative perhaps is that the appointment does take a long time about 2+ hours if you are getting fitted for contacts or glasses but again she is VERY THOROUGH and takes her time with you which is refreshing in this day and age. She does juggle other customers and her assistant was in "trainee" mode when I went the first time. Overall I'm impressed with her and happy to have found her. read more

If you want a prescription for contact lenses, DO NOT GO HERE! I'm really disappointed that I have to post a negative review, but I don't want anyone else to feel like they got ripped off as I do. I've been wearing glasses for close to 20 years and contacts for close to 15. So, I know what to expect. It had been 2 years since my previous exam, so I called Dr. Shadid's office and they were able to get me in within a few days. The receptionist was very friendly over the phone and told me the price for the eye exam ($160) and the contact lens evaluation ($70). The prices quoted were about what I had paid all of the other times, so I didn't foresee any issues. I checked in and was offered an additional screening test for an additional fee, which I decided against. I always get a bad feeling when someone tries to up-sell me, but I just ignored that feeling and waited for my appointment. Dr. Shadid was nice and seemed knowledgeable, although I was left waiting multiple times which extended my appointment by much more than I was used to. She used drops to dilate my eyes and had me sit in the waiting room while she got an estimate for the contact lenses. I thought she was getting an estimate for the actual price of ordering the lenses. Boy was I wrong. After a few minutes, she sits me at a small desk and tells me that the estimate for the contact lens fitting will be up to $350 more and would require another appointment. Honestly, I was completely shocked. In all of the years of getting contact lens prescriptions, this has NEVER happened, not even the first time I got them. I respectively told her that was much more than I had ever paid. So, she basically charged me $70 to talk about wearing contacts. What kind of self-respecting and honest doctor would do that? She basically justified this by saying that the receptionist reads a script over the phone and that all of this should have been clear. I told her it wasn't clear until she gave me the quote that states that the $70 doesn't cover the contact lens prescription. Whatever the script states, it did not state this. At that point, she could have apologized for the misunderstanding and offered a refund. She did not. After my appointment, I called 5 other optometrists to get quotes for contact lens fittings. Dr. Shadid is charging $200 more than the highest amount I was quoted. I ended up going to Dr. Dinh and paying $96. I wish I had gone there from the start. Don't be a sucker. Go somewhere else. read more
