They do not stand behind their products. My college student son purchased glasses from them. He got the blue blocking. A month or so after he left them in the car and they warped terribly. They initially refused to replace but then did. A couple weeks later it happened again- while he was wearing them! They are refusing to make it right. We have great eye insurance and it was still $250 out of pocket and they didn't even last three months. read more

They doctor was especially great with my young daughter who was nervous for her first eye exam. Went in about a month ago to get prescription sunglasses for active use as an emergency health care provider. The glasses unforunately did not work out and when I went in to talk about some sort of exchange, I was told there was literally nothing they could do. Every optical provider I have worked with since I was 13 has allowed somewhere between a 7 and 30 day return window. These people care much more about their bottom dollar and profit margins than treating their customers as actual humans. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. read more

So I been going to NBVC for a couple of years and the customer service use to be good until my recent visit about two weeks ago myself and my husband went for exams that was awesome the doctor was great but the problem came when we went to pick out our glasses no one helped us pick out a pair like what would fit our face or size of our head weird I know but every other place I have been they helped us with that type of stuff and what made it worst is when I went to pick up my glasses there were two females there one behind the desk and the other on the outside they both just kept talking as we walked in made eye contact and they continued to talk for a good 5mins no hi how are you we'll be with you noting until I just stared and the one on the outside finally says something with attitude and goes and gets my glasses sand goes do you want to try them on? Of course I do so she gives me the glasses and leaves uh okay...the only reason they got 3stars was cause of the doctor and the lady who brought me back on the visit but the front of the house is horrible read more

I thought the vision exam went very well, Dr. Yu was very helpful and informational as this was my first time visiting an Optometrist for an exam. I picked up the glasses two weeks after trying on their sample glasses and decided on a pair that I wanted. I don't mind that it took two weeks (things were especially busy with COVID and the holidays during my appointment). The glasses frame they provided me was a large but I tried on a standard size during my initial appointment and fitting. I have a pretty small face and the glasses looked awkward on me and didn't fit very well. After the holidays, I called and asked if I could swap out the frame to the standard size because they didn't fit well. They refused and offered to "tweak" the glasses. I visited their office yesterday for an adjustment and they still don't fit. I really just want to swap out the frame size but I felt like I got nowhere with their office on reaching a solution. For what I paid this office, I expected higher quality customer service. read more

I came to Vision Center last month for my annual appointment and I had a great experience with Doctor Yang. She is very knowledgeable. she was awesome! I really liked how she explained with details everything to me. The overall experience I had was great and not overwhelming. The front desk was very helpful and patient with me on helping me choose my glasses. Their office has a lot of options to choose your glasses from which I like. They are very accommodating and patient. There is a parking lot and even more parking around. Their office staff is very helpful and courteous. Also the office is kept clean and organized. Their hours are: Monday - Thursday 8AM-5:30PM Friday 8:30AM-4:30PM Saturday 8:30AM-12PM Sunday Closed The only thing I did noticed is that they don't have later hours but not an issue for me. But they do have a few more offices in other areas. read more

It came to light that the office submitted the wrong prescription on my glasses last time they were ordered. Was given the run-around and told I had to call my insurance to get it fixed even though insurance had not made the error. Was told there was a 2 year warranty period that had expired that the insurance wouldn't honor; my insurance told me they had no idea what they were talking about. The office took no responsibility and couldn't even clearly tell me their policies and where they were posted and said they will not be fixing their mistake. Best glasses I have always had. They may be more on expensive side, but their equipment are new and state-of-art and justifies the cost. The doctors and staff are very accommodating and thorough. I am sorry to report that I have little confidence in the North Bay Optometric Center. While I did feel good about my exam with Dr. Marianna Kong, I have concerns about the staff who created the lenses prescribed by Dr. Kong. I asked to have a copy of my prescriptions. It arrived -- incomplete -- with several pages of why I should not use their company to have new lenses prepared. I will not return. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. These people, especially the front office staff do not care. At first one person said they could help, then more people came on the phone and didn't care what the problem was. They are liars and extremely rude. The don't care about needing an emergency pair of glasses right away. Which are needed for driving and seeing far away. They don't care that you are unable to drive down there due to injuries and not having the glasses to drive there. Even though they have the prescription and can send me pictures of frames, one of which I liked, they refused to help out an injured disabled senior citizen. Instead they were extremely rude and completely unprofessional over the phone when this help was needed and I had the money to pay. This was not the first time they were abusive towards me but it will be the last time. Do not go to this establishment. They don't care. In the past it even took them a couple times to get the prescription correct, which meant waiting even longer for the glasses. They don't care, they aren't thorough, they abuse senior citizens, they are rude and unprofessional. read more

Dr. Chen is the best optometrist I have ever been to. That says a lot because I've been to many optometrists over the 38 years since I've been wearing eyeglasses and contact lenses. Called to ask if it was ok to come by and view their frame selection, the very sweet lady who helped me opened a request with my insurance, I specifically asked if that would happen if they checked my benefits and she said no. Long story short, I didn't like any frames went elsewhere, found frames and was told this office had already opened an authorization. Being new to the area this was the first place I decided to check out to get some new specs. The staff is really friendly and they took my appointment in a timely manner. The actual optometrist is a cheerful older guy who has a great sense of humor! Whilst he was checking my eyes he worked very fast and diligently and I especially liked that he laughed at my terrible jokes Haha. I wish I could remember her name, but the sweet receptionist who helped me pick out my frames was extremely kind when I asked her did she have any recommendation for glasses that look right for my face. They have tons of frame styles to choose from if you want something modest or if you want something high end and snazzy, they have it here! I have been switching eye doctors for a while now, due to changing jobs and insurance companies. Today I had my annual eye appointment with Dr. Francisco at North Bay Optometric Vision Center. It was a great experience from greeting me when I entered the door to the moment I left. The staff was kind and considerate and very professional. They gave me a reminder call on Saturday to remind me of my appointment today (Monday 10/30/17). After checking in I couldn't have been there more than 10 minutes and they took me right back for my appointment. Then when Dr. Francisco came in she gave a thorough examination to ensure I got exactly what I need. She also had informed me of other options available to me, in case eye glasses didn't work out for me. This is the only vision center I know that can offer "sight therapy". After finishing my exam, I had to go look for glasses that I would be happy wearing. Lapita went above and beyond the expectations for anyone providing customer service. She looked through all the frames with me to not only find one that would fit perfectly but that would also fit my budget (not an easy task). They did not have the size in stock of the frames I liked, so Lapita said she would order them for me tomorrow. At the end of the appointment Lapita broke down the cost of exactly how much my new glasses will be. Customer service was exceptional and I will be definitely going back next year when another eye exam is needed. read more

This is the first optometrist I've had to go to since I've never needed glasses before. I was one of the first appointments in and they were very welcoming. My co pay was $20 which was very reasonable. They did my eye exam and even checked my eyes for dry eye since my eyes had been bothering me for some time. They were very nice and professional. Dr. Bruns was very funny and made me feel comfortable the whole time. He reassured me that I didn't have dry eye but gave me some drops anyway which I felt was above what he had to do but he did it anyway. After my appointment they told me that I was developing astigmatism in both eyes and Dr. Bruns took the time to explain what that meant. I got to pick out my glasses which took a while since I have a hard time deciding things. They were very patient with me and let me take my time. My insurance covered $189 for a pair of glasses so I made sure to stay under that limit. I finally found the perfect pair and another nice lady helped me order them. After a few days when my glasses had arrived I went back in to get them. Another lady working there showed me how to care for my new glasses since I'd never had them before. I loved the vibes and the people here. Everyone was very friendly and I didn't feel uncomfortable in any way! I've been looking for a new optometrist in the area since Dr. Wolfe retired from the Eye Care Institute in Santa Rosa a couple of years ago. My insurance provider, VSP, had this office on their list, and usually I trust their recommendations so I thought I'd give it a try. My apt. started off fine. After checking in I was taken to an exam room. The Dr. was very pleasant; she asked if I wore contacts (yes, I did) if I brought in my glasses (yes, I did). She looked over my insurance information and informed me that "I had great coverage" and my co-pay for the visit would be $20. Perfect,- that was exactly the same amount that Dr. Wolfe had been charging for my glasses/contact lens exam for many years. All went well; the exam was really quick. I didn't run into a problem until I went back up front. I paid my $20 and was given my prescription for glasses. However, I was told that I must pay an additional $120 for the prescription for the contact lenses. At first I thought maybe my file had been mixed up with another. I explained that my fee was $20. I waited as one woman spoke to another, then came back to me and said there must have been some sort of miscommunication because they were in fact, charging me $120. I was really confused and asked if they could clarify with the optometrist, because there was never any mention of a $120 fee, only the $20 co-pay. The optometrist came out and apologized for giving me the misinformation. Apparently she was new. Still, in the moment I felt like I'd been taken advantage of. While one of the staff members was handing me a card with Dr. James Bruns's information to follow up (he's the owner), I noticed an older Dr. at the end of the counter. I asked, "Are you Dr. Bruns? Do you own this practice?" He replied "Most days." I asked him if he could sort out the issue that I was having. He'd overheard my conversation so had the details. We reviewed my printed coverage and I pointed to the line that said, "$20 for exam" he told be that I was wrong and that "no optometrist does it that way." He started arguing with me. It was really uncomfortable- then bartering with me (at one point saying, "I don't give services for free, so how about just pay $60). Dr. Bruns paced a little, then ducked into the back, and came out again with the optometrist that gave me the exam asking her to apologize again. It was very awkward. After, Dr. Bruns continued to argue and huff and refused to let me take my contact lens prescription. I left in disbelief at how unprofessional the discourse was and how Dr. Bruns treated patients. I later called VSP to submit a complaint. VSP took my details and told me that Dr. Bruns's office had already been in touch. The office called to authorize/charge $120 (for the prescription I did not receive). VSP also clarified (in a way that Dr. Bruns could not articulate) that optometrists can in fact, charge additional fees. However, they usually tell patients in advance what those fees are. VSP reviewed my records to see that my previous Dr. (Dr. Wolfe) never charged more than the $20 listed. But that practice is now rare. I've never experienced anything like the interaction that I had with Dr. Bruns. I hope that this review helps to warn others. read more

This was my first visit to North Bay Optometric and I was very impressed. I had been seeing my previous Dr for 20+ years but they didn't have any appts available before the end of the year so I thought I'd try somewhere else and now I will continue going here. Staff was very Friendly and welcoming. Exam was quick but thorough and the dr answered all my questions. I then went out to select frames and the young lady that assisted me was very attentive and helped me pick out the perfect frame. It took a little over a week to get the call my glasses were ready to be picked up and again, great customer service when I picked them up! I've definitely found my new optometrist! My only complaint is I never received an invoice with a breakdown of the costs so I have emailed to ask for that. Hopefully the customer service continues even after the visit. read more

They deal with all of the insurance paperwork, and it's a really easy experience for me to set up an appointment, see the doctor with little wait and walk out with my contacts and glasses for the year. The only reason I'm giving a one star is because I can't give it a zero star. The Dr. That actually did the exam was great and the initial service was good too. The problem came when one of the assistants ask my wife if I had ordered the anti glare my wife honestly did not know. The assistant then asked my wife to PAY for the anti glare and that if I wanted it I could bring the glasses in OR if I didn't my wife could comeback to get her money back. That sounds backwards to me and not necessary. I came home picked up the glasses and said they needed to add the glare (that my wife had paid for) and make it right. The Assistant said she could put the order in and it should take a week. Making matters worse I called again to see the status of my order, it took them an additional 3 weeks to make the order right. When I asked for the manager to bring light to the problem. I was told they would give her my name and number and would call me when she had the chance. It's been 3 weeks since and I've yet to hear from anyone. Leads me to belive 1 they never told her and just brushed me off OR the manager herself doesn't care and brushed me off. The optometrist herself what great BUT that's about the extent of my positive experience. My family will NOT be going back read more

The staff is friendly and they have a decent selection of glasses to choose from. i gave two stars because i ordered and paid for my glasses a month ago and i called in today to find out they wont be ready for another week. i called to see when they would be ready two weeks ago and was told that the frames i chose were broken by the lab and i needed to either choose a different color or a different frame (the color of the frames i chose were discontinued). i chose a different color and they told me they would put a rush on the order to make up for the time. kind of bothered me that no one called me to let me know because maybe this would have been taken care of sooner. also doesnt seem like they put a rush on the order since they said today it would be another week. if i knew this would have taken so long i would have just gone to lens crafters where they will have your glasses ready in about two days read more

Every time I have come into the office the staff is friendly, courteous, and professional. Heather is always upbeat and very helpful. Made appointment asked for the time an was told I would get a confirmation call, never got it. Called but no answer kept getting hung up on. Went in to tall to them an waited for 20 minutes before someone talked to me there were only 3 other people in there besides me. I asked why I hadn't received a confirmation call an was told they forgot. I asked why I couldn't get hold of someone in the morning an was told they were busy yet there was no one there.
