The food & staff were amazing! Everything was delicious to the drinks. Apps and dinner as well as dessert.

This review is for the Centro location in the Hilton. And all I can say is bravo! The service is flawless. The bean dip with the salsa in the beginning sets the tone. The chips are fresh and crunchy. The menu is phenomenal. I started with the French onion soup in a bread bowl. The onions were the right amount of sweet and complemented the Gruyère cheese perfectly. I got the short rib fettuccini and I wish it had a white sauce but it was very good. I tried the ribeye smash burger and it was excellent. The cocktail presentation is amazing! I will be back!

We were there on Monday and I didn't want to go. The food service and drinks were amazing. Great presentation on the rib eye and the chicharrón de pulpo was delicious. I am glad I did.

Onion soup in bread bowl. Really good

After eating mostly tacos for 5 days straight in CDMX, figured it was time for a proper sit down meal. This place did not disappoint.

Offering this nice restaurant a 4 star. Service was fantastic, clean and nice touch to offer valet parking. We had reservations and seated instantly. Ordered escamoles and delighted with the flavoring. Ordered a filet and that was a fun experience to be able to go from rare to medium at the table on the hot stone provided. Enjoyed drinks and bill for 3 was approximately $250 USD. If I ever return to MEX, will eat here again.

Amazing restaurant with phenomenal food. It won't disappoint. It was kind of pricy but still way cheaper than the equivalent restaurant in the US. The ambiance is very nice and hip. Dimly lit and comfortable.

I love steak and Sonora Grill is one of the best steak places in CDMX. It's like their Ruth Chris, but lucky for us, the exchange rate gives us a great discount. When we went cocktails were buy on get one free, which put it at normal CDMX pricing. Cocktails are made well here. As for food, we got beef carpaccio, grilled octopus, truffle fries, rib eye cap and bone marrow tacos. More than enough food for 4 people. We actually had left overs and ate it 2 days later at the airport and it was still delicious!! The rib eye was cooked to perfection. Ask for salt service and they bring out a variety of salt to try on your steak, not that it needed it, just fun to try. The octopus was delicious too. So tender. The bone marrow tacos were good but very rich. But the end of our rich meal, we were t able to finish it. They finished it off with some fresh hot churros for us. Great experience! Trying to go to Sonora Prime anytime I get a chance, luckily it's in all major Mexican City.

    Little flavors

Overrating this place with more than one star feels too generous. I'm usually very selective with my food choices and tend to be generous with reviews, but this experience fell flat. The service was just okay--staff seemed to be standing around more than actually helping. The simple steak tacos lacked flavor, and most of the food was overloaded with cheese, drowning out any other taste. If you have other options, I'd recommend going somewhere else.

Servicio FANTASTICO!

My boys took me here for my bachelor party kickoff dinner and we destroyed the food. It was absolutely delicious. We started off with a nice bottle of Mezcal and picked out our cigars before our feast for 6 guys: Bone Marrow Tacos (1 order = 8ea) Prime Cowboy Steak 1Kg Porterhouse Fries (comes with meal) Mushrooms (with meal) Onion Pearls (with meal) Bean Dip Mezcal!!!! Cigar Service- sit onthe patio upstairs and you can smoke Salt Service - must ask. See pic for types. Victoria Beers Cheesecake The service, food and ambiance was spectacular and totally exceeded my expectations for our first man feast. Ask for the "house round" and you'll most likely get a free night cap. Awesome!

Ribeye steak and ribeye taco with bone marrow.

From the moment we arrived we were given top notch service. Our server was excellent. The food came out fast and hot. The ribeye tacos and my steak were cooked to perfection.

I say seated with parenthesis because most people end up standing here but we got lucky that a couple was leaving as we were right next to them after being asked our drink orders. It's kind of a weird system that they have and I think the staff didn't realize we didn't have our drink orders taken yet and asked the people behind us for theirs which was slightly annoying. It was a bit chaotic so I can see why it happened, but I do think they need a slightly better system. Anyways, the drinks were excellent and I love that they gave us a little small snack that included crickets (which I hadn't tried before yet). The vibes in here are really nice too. I love the dim lighting and the almost rock/clay atmosphere. The bathroom area is smaller than I was expecting but it was ok. I'd definitely return!

There are no seats, this is a standing bar except a few uncomfortable bar stools. Drinks were good, but I expected more. I got the colada and it was good, not too sweet. Almost clarified colada. Everything was very spirit forward which few of our friends really liked. This felt like a one time visit for me in CDMX

Our waiter did seem a little surprised we didn't so maybe we ought to have . Honestly the openness is welcome on this cool autumn day although the sounds of cars and people was sometimes a touch distracting. Music was fun but not particularly heavy, maybe more of a casual date than something velvety. Service was quite attentive and prompt although I did arrive quite early and there weren't very many people there. Not all the waitstaff are very fluent in English but they are happy to bring someone who is if you have questions. They are the sister bar/restaurant to La Clandestina which is literally right next door which also focusses on Mezcal. Honestly, I don't really know what the difference is between the two aside from the people who are literally mixing the drinks and serving you as the house mezcals are also under the La Clandestina name. Ordered their Habanero house cocktail which was a mix of their Espadin Joven Mezcal, orange liqueur, and a raspberry/bluebery/habanero syrup garnished with a dehydrated orange slice and rimmed with salt, chili, and maybe some more habanero. Note, the menu doesn't actually mention the syrup, I dragged that out of them since I was wondering why the cocktail was so pink and also tasted like it definitely had more than mezcal and orange liqueur in it. The end cocktail is a light and fruity affair but not particularly sweet or acidic and actually balanced out with the body and smoke of the mezcal. I normally despise salt rims, finding it overpowering on first sip and nonexistent on the next but theirs toned down the salt levels enough that each sip around the rim was actually quite pleasant. The habanero in the syrup maybe offers a smidge of vegetal notes and a little bit of spice if you're particularly sensitive to it but the rim itself was actually a delight, giving a light tingle to the lips with each sip. I wouldn't say the cocktail was particularly spicy but more tingly which I found myself actually preferring over other chili included cocktails I've had in the past. They do offer a variety of bottles of tequila and mezcal to sell and take home with you, notably the ones under the Clandestina name that are made just for the bar. Not all of these tequilas and mezcals are available to try directly but the bartenders will offer you a shot of the closest one that is available on the menu (mind you, trying a shot is just paying for an ounce/35 ml of the stuff but that's all on the menu). I decided to give that a shot before biting the bullet on a whole bottle of mezcal. The shot of mezcal comes in a glass wider than a traditional shot glass so you can actually sip the thing comfortably and they also give you a few orange slices with tajin to chase/nibble on. Apparently they offer a flight of mezcal which I'd honestly recommend, especially if you're here with some friends. Definitely recommend coming by for well executed cocktails but particularly for the chance to try Mezcal of varying regional origin, age, and abv.

Well on the night before we left,we finally squeezed this bar into our itinerary and man, am I glad we did. This bar was so freaking cool. The ambiance felt great-there was an energy in the room. The staff was so awesome,so friendly-they offered to make us anything we wanted, even drinks that were not on the menu. They would ask us, what type of cocktails we liked, what liquors, what we didn't like and just come up with a drink on the spot-they were a very impressive staff.I also liked how they would make drinks as a team, one person did one part of it, then passed it to another person who would handle another part,by the time it got to us , the entire team had a hand in making our drinks-it was kinda odd but amusing at the same time. The crowd was definitely touristy as I didn't see very many locals at this bar ,though did run into a woman traveling on business from Sacramento and I thought that was just the most random thing ever. I think the coolest part of this bar on this visit was about halfway through our time there, the bartender asked if we wanted to see their "speakeasy" in the back of the bar-so he took us in the back and stopped us at this kind of nondescript door and opened it and it took us to a speakeasy in the back that contained the bar's rarest alcohols and another bar that was totally isolated from the main bar-was a really cool experience. In closing, If you ever find yourself in the Roma Norte district of Mexico City, I highly recommend visiting Limantour bar and ask them to take you to the speakeasy-it's an awesome experience. PS-I almost forgot, just to validate my feelings on this bar-they have won a Top 50 bar award globally for like the last 5 years straight-a very special spot and a must visit in the bar scene in Roma Norte.
