Going to apologize for this being all over the place. Super upset. I wish I didnt feel the way I do now when I left their office this morning. Took my son (15 and has autism) in to get 6 cavities done. He started school a week and a half ago and wanted then to do all 6 cavities today and what he was booked for. My son Kaiden wanted me to go back with him as he was super anxious and they told me that I couldn't go back with him. I talked with my son about it and told him I'd go check up on him and if he needed me, to tell them to come get me. They began to numb him, come and get me to let me know they started. Then like 15 minutes later came to get me again to see if we wanted to continue (they had gotten 1 tooth done) my son was okay with getting them done, since that's what we went in for and I told them its okay. Keep going. 2 minutes later I get pulled into the back again and basically told that we need to make another apt to get the others done. Wtf? I told her that I stated to get all done that we came in here for this morning and she kinda said rudely "well then are you okay with being here for another 2 hours?" Well if you woukd have done what I told you guys to do and what we planned for we wouldn't be in this situation. I planned this day to get his cavities done and taken care of. Like I mentioned above, he has already started school and he goes to school in Scottsdale, so I do not make unnecessary Apts for him due to him having to take that day off of school (we live pretty far from his school) she wanted me to come back in a week to do another one. Lol, no. He needs to be in school. I made THIS apt to get them all done. I was clearly getting upset and the office knew this. I was told that they didnt wanna give him that much novocaine, but completely turned that around after seeing how upset I was and saying okay if your okay with being here another 2 hours. If it was going to be too much novocaine, then why schedule to do all those teeth in the 1st place over the phone. I felt bullied in a way because I felt they took what I said about my son having autism and flipped the switch on me to seem like they were listening when they really were not. I can see where this company can be good for some people, but it wasn't a match for my 15 year old who has autism. (Under age and autistic) Not friendly for those groups. I'm very disappointed in my experience at this dental office. I scheduled an appointment specifically for a cleaning, but they only did X-rays and scaling, no actual cleaning was performed. While the doctor was kind, I was presented with an extremely long list of recommended treatments and an estimate that was confusing and not well explained. The priorities or urgency of each procedure were never made clear, leaving me unsure of what actually needed to be done. Overall, I left feeling frustrated and that my time was wasted, who is able to carve that much time out of a busy work week and be expected to come back multiple times? I went in January 2019 to get a few cavities filled on the left upper and bottom teeth, initially this was suppose to be done by Dr. Kim. My mother had been getting work done by Dr. Kim for a few months and she emphasized on how amazing and professional he was. On the day of my appointment, I was informed Dr. Kim was working at a different location but Dr. Park was available and was told she was "very good" so I opted to have her do my fillings. Worst mistake I have ever done. About 2 weeks after my fillings, I was having persistent hot/cold sensitivity and was unable to chew on the left side of my mouth due to pain; in which I have never had any sort of dental pain previously. I kept calling and going back for about 2 months. All Dr. Park would do was check my bite and file down my teeth, this happened for several visits with absolutely zero improvement. She finally prescribed tapered steroids which didn't do anything. I finally saw Dr. Kim and was told my sensitivity and being unable to chew on the left side was "normal." He went on to tell me his wife had the same problem and so forth. He then tried to say I was prescribed "antibiotics" and not steroids, I obviously did not have any sort of infection anywhere in my mouth so after he said this, I realized they were just trying to brush me off. It's been 10 months now since I've had my fillings done by Dr. Park and I am still unable to chew on the left side of my mouth and have sensitivity over the bottom filling she did. I went to a different dentist who re-did half of the fillings she did and took a picture of one of my teeth to show how horrible it was done. There was a gap between my teeth where a filling was suppose to go so the area was red, swollen, and trapping food. I'd go back in a heartbeat and never step foot in this office or let Dr. Park go anywhere near my teeth. read more

So here's my experience with Sonoran sky. I originally came in and was very happy with the service from the hygienists and the doctor. As I continued to come here I ran into some issues with the receptionist/ office manager being extremely aggressive and rude. I updated my Yelp review to reflect the unnecessary rudeness and aggression from her. In my updated review I still didn't go one star, and I gave credit for the doctor and hygienists. Along the way, I became pregnant. I scheduled my routine cleaning which was due during the first trimester. My significant other who was newly on my dental plan also scheduled a cleaning for the same time. He was called in first for his exam and then I was brought in for my cleaning. The doctor came, took a quick look and the hygienist tipped the chair back and began working. We discussed my pregnancy and he shared some about his family. I had terrible morning/ all day sickness and was thrilled that my nausea hadn't hit yet so I could get through my cleaning. All of a sudden, the officer manager came into the room demanding that I update the Yelp review. I told her that she was the reason I had lowered it from the original 5 star review. I did agree that I would increase it after we were completed and she left the room. The hygienist, who remained very professional throughout started working again. The officer manager yet again burst in, this time demanding the hygienist stop and telling me I had to update it right then and there. I told her I found it extremely unprofessional and that I didn't see why my care as a patient had to be interrupted so she could feel better about my review. She told me if I didn't update it that second she was going to refuse service and I wouldn't be able to get my cleaning. Now, normal circumstances I would have told her where to go, but I needed the cleaning done and was worried I wouldn't get another chance like this without the morning sickness. In addition, I was so hormonal and emotional I was scared I would burst out crying. I told her I felt like she was bullying me, as a patient, impacting my care and without one care that I was pregnant. It was at this point the doctor came in and she told him that she had given me an ultimatum to leave or change the review (which again, was not one star!) And the doctor backed her up. I pulled up my phone and changed the review, holding back tears. I explained to the doctor that my problem wasn't with him (until now) and that I had only lowered it from 5 stars due to my feeling that the office manager was rude and aggressive. I told him I felt as though having my care interrupted while I was bullied into changing it proved she deserved my assessment. He said, well normally if people aren't happy with me they don't come back. I told him that it was obvious to me at that point that he was going off of her word and hadn't read the review because he would have seen I specifically mentioned that despite her, I still praised him and the hygienists. I told him that prior to him coming in and allowing her to bully me, his pregnant patient, I had no problems with him. I then asked him to leave so I could get my cleaning. During this my significant other had heard from the next room over and had come in to support me. The doctor finally left, taking the psycho office manager with him. The hygienist looked embarrassed and uncomfortable. He remained professional and finished my cleaning with the top professionalism that was possible. I cried for two hours leaving the office and waited until now to update my review because I didn't want to rehash all of it while I was so hormonal. I've never been made to feel so powerless in my entire life. As for the doctor, I understand and respect backing up your staff, but allowing your staff to interrupt a patient's care and allowing them to bully a pregnant patient while part way through a cleaning without even having all of the facts is reprehensible. read more

My family used to love this office, but for the last few years, it seems as if the goal is to up charge rather than provide service. They have a staff member harass you before they will clean your teeth, aggressively trying to sell add-ons that you don't need or want. It's like being trapped in the extended warranty room of a used car dealership. We are all so disappointed. read more

My only reason I'm giving this a 4 star review is, I went to go get a teeth whitening appointment and when I arrived in the back, the doctor said that I had really nice teeth and gums, but I didn't receive any kind of teeth whitening at all. Dr. Kim and his team are very professional and his work is phenomenal! I haven't been to a dentist in so long, so I decided to call his office after a very convincing referral from a good friend. The assistant who answered was very courteous and helpful as she set me up as a new patient (if you are a new patient please call ahead to get some paperwork out of the way and if you have it, your dental insurance info ready as well). I was pleased to find out that I was able to be scheduled and seen that same week! When I arrived I was greeted by a very welcoming staff and was seen by Dr. Kim in a very timely manner. This dental facility Is the place to go! I had pain from a cracked moler and pressing against the nerve. I found out that they could help me and instantly they helped me. Not only is Dr. Kim great and professional, his staff and crew make the whole experience worth while. Most of the time the dentist is nice and relatable but his staff is awkward and distant, but not here! They all were able to engage in conversation while continually encouraging you if there is pain. This dental facility makes me leave satisfied and happy with what happened. Bad customer service. I was told i needed basic cleaning after exam, but they over booked so it could not be done today. That is bad customer service to have cuatomers come in just to do xrays. Now we have to take other day off work. I did not walk out, i was there paid my co pay and asked to have my x-rat released i was told no cleaning could be done. Just because the company takes time to provide excuses for bad customer makes it worse save you time and find a better dentist there are offices everywhere we do not have to deal with bad customer service. read more

I go to Sonoran Sky Dental on 3201WPeoria and I am so happy with them. I am on Medicare so I am at that age where things are starting to wear down especially my teeth. I am in the middle of an implant that is going so well. I was on my way to Mexico about a year ago to get dental work down there when I called Sonoran Sky as a last chance to have work done here basically because of cost. I talked to Janet in the front office and got some prices and because they were so reasonable I was a little leary but Janet assured me their dentist and materials were the best and boy she was not lying. Dr. Kim and Candace ( his assistant) are the best. Everything is explained in full and there are no surprises in cost or anything. They are so caring. I also have a crazy schedule and Janet goes above and beyond to try and fit you in whenever and does not make you feel like you are impositioning her. This is a group of the best dental staff I have have met. Hats off to Janet as she was my first contact to making this my forever dentist ( my sons too!) Call them you wont be sorry!! read more

The one good thing is that I can honestly say the staff is absolutely awesome. All very nice. If you have lots of money to spend, then this is the place. The dentist is good, but very adamant on pushing the dental implants like there is NO other option. He refuses to fill a cavity, but wants to pull the tooth and replace with an implant. Really? When all said and done, I all of a sudden had 8 cavities and needed 2 extractions and 4 implants to the tune of $15k. The only reason I went is because I had a bridge come out and needed re-cemented and my regular dentist was booked and I am headed out of town. The same tooth with the cavity he wants to pull will cost me $28 to fill with my regular dentist using my insurance. Not sure why Sonoran Sky would not use Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance in their quote. I will not go there again. They will try to push the Care Credit for all dental work. Beware, Care Credit will charge fees if not paid off within the time allotted! They are very hefty fees, too. Read the credit agreement in full! read more

About a year ago, I moved to Phoenix and I did not know where I should go to a dental care. Few weeks after moving to Phoenix, I began to have a toothache. Because of my busy schedule, I could not take care of it right away. But it became a huge problem. I got an infection and I just took painkillers whenever I felt pains. My friends introduced me Sonoran Sky Dental. My first impression was that they were extremely nice and gentle. The whole dental office was clean but comfortable. When I was checking my tooth. We found out that I had a cavity and my bottom tooth was infected. Dr. Thomas Kim suggested me to get a treatment right away. He wanted to pull the tooth and replace with an implant, but I was worried about cost. I insisted to come back the following Monday because of my busy schedules and money. On the Friday night, I was going through high fever and pains. My face got swallon wtice big and there was no one I could get help. My family members and friends worried because of seriousness. I could not took pains any more. I was expecting that Dr. Kim would not get my late calls but I did not have no choice. I gave Dr. Kim an emergency call around 3:00 am. Although it was around 3 am, he took my call and gave me an emergency treatment. Next day morning, I was able to pull out my tooth. Without his help, I could have been in a very dangerous situation. His office unexpectly cost less than going to the sub-par chains out there so if you think you can't afford anything else think again! I highly recommend them to you!!!! read more

I live in Surprise, about 35-40 minutes away and it is well worth the drive. ****** *** is informative, kind, and gentle with his patients. He makes visiting the dentist as pleasant as possible. The office is always clean, modern, and warm as well as professional. You never feel as though you are being "sold" something. Instead Dr. *** has the highest level of integrity, and if there is any sort of problem that occurs, within reason of course to a crown or such, he guarantees it and replaces it for free. as a senior woman with periodontal problems, i have experienced problems getting quality dental service since moving here to the west valley in 2014. because my insurance changed i am unable to use a top periodontist , dr bohra in avondale or a dentist that caters to seniors, dr fox in sun city. dental offices do not properly explain dental treatments services from the patients point of view. my worst experience has been with dr kim and his staff at sonoran sky dental in glendale, az. pressured to have implant and crown instead of replacing bridge w cost of thousands more told incisor infected tho incisor not infected according to xrays by oral surgeon hygienist stabbed me, bad infection hygienist 1 walked out w no explanation while doing perio maintenance (cleaning) patient rep denied false info re incisor infection hygienist 2 hurt me by squashing cheek against teeth quoted me $400 for deep cleaning 4 mos after first one bridge installed wrong w dark metal line at gums i feel there should be a way of laying out dental options without a false, harassing approach. dental patients should speak out so that shoddy practices are discouraged. read more

I hate going to the dentists so much.. But the staffs overall took care of me so well! They are very gentle, sweet, and caring toward their patients. They have told me that I have cavities which I did not know about, and I'm very thankful for that. So when I broke my tooth, I thought the world had ended... But instead they gave me a new tooth which looks absolutely beautiful(: I can actually say that I really love my smile. I don't think I've smiled so much after going to the dentist! Even though it was a heck of a drive from where I live... I don't think I would've wanted to go to any other dental place, I knew Sonoran Sky would be just right for me!
