My 84-year-old mother-in-law suffers from Alzheimer's and has short-term memory loss. She lives in…read morea memory care facility here in town. I know she loves receiving a massage so I was on the search for a caring therapist that would work with us. I found Gina with BluDot Massage and Bodywork here on Yelp. I messaged Gina and explained what our needs were. She was very empathetic and welcomed to us to book a session right away. Her massage retreat is located adjacent to a lovely yoga studio. The entire space is welcoming and calming. Her treatment room is inviting and smells divine. When I introduced my mother-in-law to Gina, I knew instantly that she was in good hands. Gina gave my mother-in-law a fabulous custom massage-incorporating different modalities to optimize her experience. When we returned to pick up my mother-in-law, she was on cloud nine. She went on and on about how good it felt and how talented Gina was. We feel so blessed to have found Gina. She is a gifted massage therapist and her kind spirit gives a truly healing experience.

I went here a few months back, every two weeks. There were a few times (before she changed her…read morecancellation policy) that I had to reschedule an appointment I had the following day, I would reschedule it anywhere from 72 hours before to 12 hours before my scheduled massage. She amended the policy saying you had to give 24 hours advance notice (understandably) & a month or so after the policy was changed I had a family emergency & couldn't make it. My daughter had a big seizure & we had to go to the hospital. I texted her as soon as I knew. Mind you, I hadn't had an issue since she updated her policy. The next week I tried to reschedule & it said I had to reach out, so I did. We talked on the phone & she mentioned the times I had to reschedule the times before she made changes to her cancellation policy. I countered with once she changed it there hasn't been a problem until I had an emergency. She proceeded to tell me I need to have child care lined up, moms deserve their time too, her mom had a special needs dependent, I could t use my daughter as an excuse.. just so far out of line. She said I could only come in if someone else cancelled last minute & I could fill in their spot. It isn't possible with 4 kids, I can't drop what I'm doing to go to someone's cancelled appointment.. I wish. The whole convo was wild & out there. I gave a two star instead of one because she is a good at massages.. it actually took me a few months to even speak on this, I was really just trying to reflect before I left a poor review.. Since I can't directly reply, I'll have to update to say you did in fact say something about my children as an excuse & I never did a same morning cancellation, it's not even possible to do on the app. The one time I had no choice I had to call/text you to cancel. I couldn't cancel it otherwise.. I'm glad you feel okay with your choice, I do as well.. you don't have to lie about it. Good luck with your business!
