I normally don't write reviews, but my experience with Kia Sons in McDonough, GA was so disappointing that I have to warn others. Any positive reviews about them on this page are clearly fairy tales, if they are about the service center. I will say the sales team is amazing, so only go to buy a car (ask for Quincy). But, never take it there to get fixed!!! I brought my car in because it was smoking and stalling; clear signs of an engine problem. I was also told by 2 other mechanics that would not work on it that it was an engine issue and to take it to a Kia. I paid $200 for a "diagnostic," only to later find out they never even removed the valve cover where the real issue was. So I paid for a half-done inspection and left with the same problem I came in with. When I returned a second time for the exact same issue, they still didn't identify the problem until after I approved additional repairs. Only then did they discover sludge in the engine, something that should've been caught from the start. Because of this delay, I was misled about the true cost of repairs and lost the opportunity to make an informed decision about whether to fix or replace my car. My warranty claim was denied because Kia couldn't provide the necessary engine code, even though the check engine light was on and the issue was clearly engine-related. I shouldn't have to pay for their communication failures. They also charged me for a "full tune-up" even though I already had new spark plugs. I was never given a proper explanation before paying, and then was told afterward that I "should've asked more questions." It's the service department's job to explain work clearly before charging customers. To make matters worse, my car was returned with an ant infestation and a new chip in the windshield. Their solution was to "bomb" the car for ants; no apology, no accountability. I'll attach a picture of the ants that I could get to group up. The rest are running free. The customer service made everything worse. The first "manager" I dealt with was unprofessional and dismissive, even mocking me when I said I had time to file complaints. I see her name in another complaint on this page and I am not surprised. She told me she "had time too." That's not how a manager should speak to a paying customer. She later offered me $200 off my next service to make things right, but now the dealership is taking that back as well. When I reached out again, another manager responded with a long, defensive email that ignored my concerns, excused every mistake, and failed to address the poor customer service or the damage done to my vehicle. Not one apology; just excuses. After spending hundreds of dollars, I was left with more problems than I started with, plus the stress and disrespect of dealing with people who clearly don't value their customers. And I absolutely love Kia and the Kia line. I wish someone at Kia corporate could save me from this defective vehicle and this defective service center. If you value your car, your time, and your peace of mind; stay far away from Kia Sons in McDonough, Georgia. This was the most frustrating and unprofessional service experience I've ever had in my life. Take your car to either Bellamy Strickland or All Automotive. I only had great experiences at these 2 establishments when I owned a Buick Enclave and when I owned a GMC Acadia. They did not take advantage of me as a woman, they provided excellent customer service, they did not have hidden and unnecessary fees, they did not keep my car for a million days to service it, and they always fixed the problem. -- R

No help worse experience with Kia. I've own a Kia for 10+ years.

ZERO STARS !! I wish I could give zero stars, but I came in at 5:30 getting off work on a Friday I get it. I thought they would be busy not telling me they close in 30 minutes and they can't do my oil change. I wouldn't recommend anyone go there because customer service is terrible. No one had a solution to a problem that would've took 30 minutes for them to complete. But I will tell all my fellow Kia driving to drive to morrow or Macon and not this location ever!!

They provided this quote. This is not from TrueCar. This is what they sent to me. The manager only keeps saying that he has to charge more.
    David L.

DO NOT EVER GO OR TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP!!! They provide a quote & a confirmation that they have the vehicle, but when you get there after an hour of the confirmation, they will say that the car is already sold & they will not honour the quote they provided. The general manager will just keep saying that they will have to charge the dealership fee on top of the quote they provided. Because the price was good, I had to drive more than an hour to get there. Of course, I made sure that the car is available and the price is right before I left my house. THEY LIE!!!! Even if I put some deposit for a car, how can you trust them if they will not upcharge when the delivery happens? JUST DON'T GO THERE!! FULL OF SCAM!!

I'm highly pleased with the level of sales and service I received on my new car purchase. This is the place to go if you are looking for a new car. I have to say that they took very good care of me and they went above and beyond to gain my business and that I was very satisfied at the end. My sales person Evon Hinds made sure he was able to get my deal taken care no matter what. He was absolutely the best salesman ever, very knowledgeable and quick with the best buying experience. I must say that I will most definitely will recommend others to come and purchase a vehicle from here if you like Kia cars. Overall my experience was great. I bought a car, and the sales team members I dealt with were all very friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and made sure I understood. They did not do any haggling and told me the truth about everything. Sons Kia is not the closest Kia dealership to me, but it was worth traveling the distance to make my purchase. Went in knowing what car I wanted, left with the car I really loved it. Only been driving it now for about three months and haven't had any further contact with the dealership yet other than just having my first oil change and free inspection. Everyone was very nice and I would recommend checking them out.

Texts from Antawan concerning my car. Nothing but lies when I showed up.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This was the worst car experience I have ever had. Antawan needs to be fired. He is nothing more than a liar. He said my car would be diagnosed first thing Friday morning if I dropped it off on Thursday. I did just that. So Friday I hear nothing. I text and he says his tech is diagnosing it. He would let me know. I hear nothing. I show up on Saturday. He says the tech is out but he will have answers on Tuesday because Monday was a holiday. I text twice on Tuesday. No response. I call and get Stella the bot. I decide to call sales and get a human. They connect me with the service department but no one answers. I show up. Ricky the manager starts talking about no techs. I ask for a loaner since the delay and lies are on their part. He says they don't do loaners or rentals. Come to find out Antuwan was a liar. They never even started looking at my car. It was in a lot off to the side of the building. So even after all of this, I asked Ricky for a shuttle and he said they didn't have one. Like after all the lies and the fact I paid for a rental when no one was even fixing my car, the least he could have done was given me a ride to return to get my car. I wouldn't take a bicycle to son's kia.

They tried to tell us it wasn't transmission fluid....

3.5 Stars....The good and the bad…read more I'll start with the good. I recently purchased a new truck from Legacy Ford, and I was very pleased with the staff. My saleswoman, Ashley, was very nice and professional. Everyone was very professional, and honestly this was the fastest I have ever been in and out of a dealership. So, after buying the truck, I get it home, and realize that there is a crack in the rear taillight. Well, Legacy fixed it, no issues, and the service department was very quick about it. Overall, the buying experience was spot on! Now, the bad..... So, the bad seems to be a common problem that several have had--regarding trade-in payoff. Now, I've purchased many vehicles, and have never known a dealership to take longer than 7-10 days to pay off a trade--so, I was little surprised when Legacy told me "30 days". I assumed they were giving me a "worst case" scenario.... Well, they weren't. When they say 30 days--they mean it, and maybe then some. Bottom line is this, if you're trading in a vehicle that has a current payment--be prepared to continue to pay on that vehicle, and the new one, for at least the next month (maybe longer according to some other reviews). This is not only frustrating, but can be financially straining, so it's something to keep in mind.

Two other shops looked at the vehicle, including another Nissan and said it wasn't necessary and the other pieces had nothing wrong with them- one shop just couldn't do it because it is a big job. They also charge double for tires. I paid their $170 for the diagnostics and had it towed to another shop who found the same cradle they wanted to charge me 1k for (not aftermarket) for $350, paid $1500 for the hands, $100 for the alignment and half the price for teach tire new! Employees of Nissan, do better. Ask yourself, would you spend 11k on a vehicle that's not even worth 11k? They are money hungry. That's why dealerships have a bad reputation for their services- and if your car is no longer under warranty, don't even bother taking it to them. The other Nissan quoted around 3500 for the job, just an fyi. So it's not even Nissan standard persay, it's just they want to rip people off because they saw out of town plates and figured, hey these people are stuck and need to get their car on the road so let's try to squeeze them for every red cent we can. Do yourself a favor and don't take your car here! There are other Nissan dealerships who stand on principles, this is not one of them.

When we purchased our vehicle, we were only given one key fob. We were told they would "look for the spare" and mail it to us once they found it. In hindsight, that clearly meant they didn't actually have a second key. Unfortunately, when we later lost our primary key fob, we had no backup. Replacing a key fob can cost anywhere from $500-$800, so this is not a small issue. I really wish we had negotiated a lower price or required a second key fob at the time of purchase.
