Warning: Make sure you get TWO key fobs before leaving the lot If you buy a used car from this dealership, make absolutely sure they provide you with two key fobs before you drive off the lot. When we purchased our vehicle, we were only given one key fob. We were told they would "look for the spare" and mail it to us once they found it. In hindsight, that clearly meant they didn't actually have a second key. Unfortunately, when we later lost our primary key fob, we had no backup. Replacing a key fob can cost anywhere from $500-$800, so this is not a small issue. I really wish we had negotiated a lower price or required a second key fob at the time of purchase. Hopefully others can learn from our mistake and avoid being stuck in the same situation. read more

McDonough Hyundai charged us $1,500 for gap insurance. After I got home I researched and found out this was an incredibly exorbitant amount. I called after a few days and the finance guy (Mason Clark) said that they pretty much could not take it off, etc. but we could come and sign a form, however, he said it would not reduce the payments (he was lying of course). After a week or so we went in and signed the form and he admitted that this would indeed reduce the payments. We also signed for Smart Pay at time of buying the car, there were charges that he did not inform us of. We called Smart Pay and unenrolled from the program. The buying process for my 2023 Ioniq 5 Limited went smoothly, but the post-sale support was extremely disappointing. After completing the paperwork, I was only given one key fob. Follow-up emails to dealership management were met with claims that pre-owned/CPO vehicles only get one key unless the previous owner turned in two. As a buyer, you pay a premium for a CPO vehicle specifically for corporate compliance. Per Hyundai's official CPO Inspection Checklist (Point #85), two master keys are required. It's frustrating that the dealership signed off on CPO compliance but pushes the cost of a missing key onto the buyer. I've had to escalate this to Hyundai Consumer Affairs. read more

Sale went okay after negotiations. Despite agreeing on price and completing a credit application in advance, it still took over 3 hours in the dealership to actually complete the sale. The worst part has been the complete lack of support after the sale. I have been asking for 5 days now for the bill of sale and loan information to be emailed to me for insurance purposes. Still waiting for it. In addition, my car is missing the rubber portion of the windshield wiper. I haven't been able to address it with them because I am still waiting on a response on the bill of sale. I cannot consciously recommend them with the complete lack of support after the sale. To Hyundai McDonough, I would like to provide feedback regarding my recent service appointment on November 18, 2025, which was my fourth visit to your service department. I arrived for my 4:00 PM scheduled maintenance and was assisted by an associate who confirmed my appointment and selected several services on his tablet, including oil change, filter check, wheel alignment, fluid check, and a complimentary car wash. At no point was I informed that any of these items would result in an out-of-pocket cost. I handed over my key and waited for the service to be completed. When the service was finished, I was told I needed to pay $149.00 for a wheel alignment. This was unexpected because I purchased an 8-year maintenance package under the understanding that routine maintenance would require no out-of-pocket expenses. I was never informed that wheel alignment was not covered or that it was being added as an additional, chargeable service. After speaking with Southtowne Hyundai in Newnan, I learned that my plan only covers scheduled maintenance and that wheel alignment is not included unless there is an actual need. My vehicle had no symptoms indicating it required alignment, and even they questioned why one was ordered. This left me feeling that the service was added without necessity and without proper communication or consent. In addition, my vehicle's right side mirror was damaged during this visit. Although I was told the team would repair it, I have not received any follow-up or timeline regarding when this will be handled. Overall, this experience has been very disappointing due to: * Lack of transparency * Unexpected charges added without clear explanation or approval * Damage to my vehicle with no updates on the promised repair I want to make it clear that I take this matter seriously and will be filing a formal complaint if this issue is not addressed promptly and professionally. read more

This is a follow up to the previous review. The three-year portion of the warranty expired, so I was happy to stop going to Hyundai. I've taken everything to my personal mechanic since my warranty and oil changes. have run out with Hyundai. Well, I am now back at Hyundai because of a recall, I service manager was Moises. I had an appointment to have my seatbelt recall repair. My appointment was at 7:30. I arrive promptly was greeted by the service manager and was told we don't have the parts in yet. So after making an appointment, why wasn't I told before I made the appointment that the parts were not in this. Hyundai still sucks in my opinion, but there was one shining star at this establishment, which was my new service manager Moises. Even though they didn't have the part there was two other recalls that that had to be done. I left my car there and had a shuttle take me home. My previous experiences were always disappointing. partly because of a lack of communication. My previous service manager Kimberly, never returned calls, no matter how many messages I would leave. Well fast forward to today and I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received from Moises. If I left a message, which I did, he promptly returned my call as he said he would. Moises is a winner and a keeper. I hope Hyundai keeps him on as an employee because through my experiences with Hyundai, he is the best, and a pleasant surprise. The Worst Service Experience I've Ever Had I brought my newer Genesis GV70 in for a simple oil change and tire rotation -- and I waited while they worked on it; I did not drop it off. I did not choose this dealership randomly. It's still listed as a Hyundai, but since Hyundai affiliated with Genesis, this location is now able to service all Genesis models -- including newer ones. Previously, they could not, which is why I normally go to a different, farther dealership. Once I confirmed this location could handle my car, I decided to go here instead of driving further. What should have been a quick service turned into nearly five hours of frustration. From the service window, I watched the technician struggling for over an hour just to access the oil panel. Multiple techs had to gather under my car with flashlights, lifting panels and trying to figure it out. This wasn't "being careful" -- it was inexperience, and the amount of time they spent made it obvious. I brought my concerns to the service manager, who spoke with the tech and came back. His response was that the tech was "being careful" and mentioned that newer vehicles require certain steps to access the oil. I told him, "I don't service vehicles, but if you have experience, it doesn't take all those techs or that much time." The dismissive response was concerning and completely inadequate. After finally finishing the oil change and rotation, the advisor told me I needed an alignment, which I approved. Then came the brake fiasco: I was first told my front brakes were metal-to-metal. I approved the repair, waited 40 minutes, and then was told the tech "pressed the wrong button" and it was actually the rear brakes -- meaning nothing had been done in that time. I was given incorrect information repeatedly, false expectations, and nonstop apologies, to the point I said, "I know -- and I'm tired of hearing it." After confirming the rear brake parts were supposedly in stock, I approved the repair again. Thirty minutes later, they told me they didn't actually have the parts, and would just put my car back together so I could leave. Meanwhile, customers who arrived after me were already in and out. When my car was finally returned, the driver's seat was reclined all the way back like someone had been lounging in it. Completely unprofessional. At actual Genesis dealerships, even those not fully rebranded yet, technicians never struggle like this, never take hours for basic service, and never leave customers sitting with confusion and miscommunication. This experience was inexperience compounded by dismissive management and repeated advisor errors. After nearly five hours, all I left with was basic service, a pile of apologies, false information, and a request to "give them another chance." Honestly? What a joke. I made an appointment for a simple oil change for 8am. I arrived early at 7:45am and didn't get my car until around 10:15am. I asked what was taking so long a few times because I had somewhere to be at 11am, which is why I booked my appointment so early. I was told there was a dispatch mistake and a few cars jumped ahead of me. Once my car was ready the associate disregarded my time again and said I had to wait until he was done with another client to get my car even though another associate offered to close me out. I felt very disregarded and my time was disrespected!! read more

My wife and I bought my mother in law a 2025 Hyundai Tucson, and Bakary was our salesman. I arrived at the dealership 30 minutes beforehand and spoke with Bakary, a salesman, about all of my concerns. First, I wanted an out the door price with all warranties and fees disclosed. Second, I didn't want to wait around for 4 hours. We had a decent experience except for the "lifetime warranty" offered at this dealership. I asked multiple times if the warranty was an extra cost and with the understanding that the warranty covered everything. I signed with that understanding that $40,197 was the out of the door price without the need for any additional warranties needed or other costs. Welp, just like I suspected, Michael Brim, the F&I Manager, for the first time notified us that the lifetime warranty was limited to powertrain and only warranty that covered the screen for 3 years/36k miles. So in order to have that covered, I needed to buy an extended warranty for an extra $2,067. Obviously, I'm irate that this process was fairly deceptive. I'm an attorney and know that these tactics are employed upon unsuspecting customers. I was up front regarding my expectations and willingness to complete the purchase. They were not, either negligently or intentionally. Be up front that the lifetime warranty you advertised and disclosed is limited. McDonough Hyundai needs to be truthful in its representation to customers through its salespersons. That isn't too much to ask and the owner should know that it is occurring. Perhaps this is a training issue? I don't know. Bakary was awesome and very helpful. Bakary should not be blamed for the deceptive policies implemented by management and ownership of this dealership. Bakary gets 5 stars and I do not want this review to hurt him in any way because I understand his job is sales. But I would shop elsewhere and I don't intend to return to purchase additional vehicles from this dealership. read more

I bought my Hyundai Santa Fe in late Nove 2024. In the negotiations it was agreed I would pay $500 for a list of accessories which were not in the vehicle. I received all but two items, a cargo cover and cargo tray which I was told were on back order. I tried all of December to get updates but got no return calls from the dealership. I called Hyundai USA in December which began to assist. Now, in late January the dealership is saying that the two items were never a part of the original sales agreement and Hyundai USA has agreed with the dealership. My wife recently bought a 2024 Hyundai Elantra. Within two weeks we noticed a crack in the front and a piece was missing in the plastic more in line with poor quality control. She has had zero accidents nor incidents as it is two weeks old. We went back to the dealership explaining the issue and wanting to know if we could drop iff the car so they can replace it. The manager stated " NO" and to call corporate. That was after he told us she probably hit a pothole ? How would this cause a piece in the hood of a new car to fall apart is beyond me. Lastly he told us to file an insurance claim. Never has he offered to simply order a part and fix it or we pay half or anything in that realm. This is not what expected but in this day and age I wasn't surprised. We will be filing a claim with corporate over this dealership, lack of customer appreciation and dismal service. Service after the sale is extremely poor. We called them about a missing trim piece on a brand new SUV, the next morning. Been getting the run around for a month. Initially, they said they would bring us a loaner and take the car, get it done, and swap it back out. Well, its been a month and ..... Nothing. Our salesman Tydis, said he'd take care of everything, well, lucky to get a text reply from him days later. And always some excuse , we don't have a loaner available now, part hasn't come in, I wasn't in town, etc. I do love the SUV, just this dealership needs some training in the service department. I purchased an SUV from them on May 31, 2024. I took the truck back to them on July 9, 2024 for an all wheel alignment because the truck is pulling to the right. After the alignment, the truck is still pulling to the right. After the service appointment, they tell me the truck has an oil leak. I haven't had this truck for two months! They claim it is certified and has undergone a 172 point inspection. The oil leak is the third issue I've had with this truck since I've purchased it. I had a 2:15 p.m. appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. I arrived 15 minutes early and my car sat for an hour and a half. The service writer came and told me it was going to be even longer to get it done. I told him I would have my mechanics rotate the tires, just do the oil change. After sitting for another hour and watching the "oil Tech" stumble around and ride out the clock I had had enough. You can watch the so called techs through the glass as you're waiting. If I were the dealership owner, I would put up curtains so no one could see how inept the techs are. The oil change tech was probably one of the sorriest humans I have ever seen. I own a boat dealership and that useless pos would have been terminated after five minutes of watching his performance. We buy a new Tucson every two years and I was thinking about buying from them as they are closer. I would drive 100 miles further to keep from buying from them. My daughter drove in from college and I drove another hour to the dealership for the appointment. They took my keys, kept the car an hour and then told me "they did not have the parts". He did not honor the price of a new vehicle in spite of consumer protection laws against deceptive advertising. I received a notification in mail regarding a recall. I contacted McDonough Hyundai to schedule an appointment. The appointment was scheduled a couple of weeks out because the part hard to be ordered. Fast forward to July 19th, I arrived for my scheduled appointment at the dealership. Upon arrival I was told it will take about 3 - 3.5 hours to complete the work. This is the sort of thing that would have been nice to know ahead of time. The service advisor was friendly and because I lived in the area he did offer to have me driven home. The driver assigned to take me home was quite friendly. After about 2.5 hours the dealership called. Initially, I thought great they finished earlier than expected. That was not the case! Actually my service advisor was calling to inform me that they didn't have the part in the shop, What? When I scheduled the appointment I had to wait a couple of weeks for the part to arrive. I had a negative interaction with the Lead Internet Sales Representative from Mcdonough Hyundai. Recommend that you look at how your representatives interact with potential customers. This one rude interaction resulted in Hyundai losing a customer and Mazda gaining one. II've made corporate aware of the issue. I'm well aware that Hyundai Corporate doesn't "manage" individual car lots, however, they carry the Hyundai name, and when they represent the Hyundai name in a negative fashion, it's Hyundai that gets the bad name. Customers should never be told that their offers are "crazy". Sales representatives should never speak on behalf of the entire Hyundai enterprise by saying "Hyundai wouldn't accept that crazy offer". If you need someone to come in and show your sales representatives what taking care of people actually looks like, I'm happy to do so. I've got 24 years of Active military experience leading teams ranging from 3 people to organizations of 750 in combat and garrison. Taking care of people has literally been my life's work. So I figured they apparently were not needing customers if they didn't want them to browse to car shop without a salesman up their rear. So I come next door, figuring my Hyundai Genesis Coupe has held up very well, maybe I'll go back to Hyundai. Nope. Can't get in to see those either without a salesman or having to walk. First the internet person who called, then "Champ", sales manager, and finally Jamal, my sales rep. I was told I couldn't hold with a deposit, I had to come in and "pre-order". I told them if numbers were good, I'd drive the 5 hours (one way) to pre-order it. First set of numbers came in. Their "vehicle value" was already $1200+ over MSRP, then they wanted me to buy Permaplate, added $899 for "dealer fee" and finally said if I don't use their financing, I had to add $2000 to the price. Also, no mention of the $500 military discount advertised all over Hyundai - I'm sure they didn't forget. I got them to ditch Permaplate and, even though I know I'm being WAY overcharged, I agreed to drive the 5 hours to pre-order this thing, but.....we have to check a few things. Finally got a call back that "oopsie, the vin# we've been talking about all along" has actually been pre-ordered by someone else. What a crock. The first person I talked to was helpful but then I started getting transferred to multiple people that kept asking me the same questions over and over. I took every necessary step to ensure my car buying experience was smooth. Got prequalified, chose my car, contacted the dealership ahead my my arrival. Every detail I could have covered, I did. The salesperson was the only professional I encountered. Mr. Surrey in finance couldn't even open an email much less read an attachment. He asked me to send my confidential information to his personal email address and even text it to his personal cell. I ended up at the dealership for almost 4 hours providing every document they requested prior to leaving. They contacted me for two and a half weeks requesting the items be resent 8 separate times to various employees. 2 that identified themselves at the manager on duty. Neither replied to a single email or voice mail I left. I finally had to block Mr. Surrey from my phone after he harassed me for two solid weeks. Would I recommend you use them? Never. I wish I would have never found the car I wanted there. I drove 72 miles 1 way and was treated in the most unprofessional manner I've ever experienced. Run, folks. Just run. They want to blame their incompetence on everything from being a small dealership to not being able to use their email. Just run. The accountability is non existent. This dealership Owner needs to hire a General Manager that will meet regularly with each department head to know what poor quality service is being delivered to Customers. First of all, this dealership is new, so everything was clean and spotless. That is the highlight of this review! Communication between the service department, the service advisors and the customer I would rate a 2 out of 10. My wife's new 2023 Tuscon is three months old with 1,700 miles on it. The battery DIED, so I removed a battery from one of my other cars just to get it to the dealership. It took me all of ten minutes to make the swap. After I got it to the dealership, it should have been a simple swap for a new one, right? THREE DAYS LATER I got the car back with a new battery, along with a B.S. explanation that Hyundai Corporate had to authorize a new battery before they could install it. I left numerous messages and texts with the dealership manager and the service advisor, and didn't get a call back to advise why it took so long to replace a battery. Maybe all new dealerships are this way, but I WILL NOT BE RETURNING to this location for any service or warranty work. Simple communication would have improved my attitude tremendously.
