Fogtown: This drink reminded me of a piña colada and was also sweet! Ube Keopi: This drink was on the stronger side alcohol-wise, but its strong ube taste masked most of the alcohol. Sooooo.... We ended up at this karaoke bar bc it was near where the lunar new year parade in SF was taking place and we wanted to continue enjoying our night out in the city. It's very close to Dragons Gate entrance to Chinatown so very well located. Diverse crowd and a variety of different song genres of karaoke. I don't know what was happening with the karaoke but everything that could go wrong- WAS going wrong... the MIC was not even working so you couldn't hear the persons voice, the tempo on the songs was faster than the original version so everyone was always off beat, the words on the screen were lagged to the beat playing so it's off tune, the karaoke "master" was skipping others to put himself on song after song and he sucked!! The app allows you to bump yourself up so some people just never got to sing . lol it was just a MESS. We left. I dont remember anything special about the drinks but the bar is very tight seating! Super fun bar/karaoke spot in Downton SF. They have the karaoke setup at all times with a mic stand, speakers, and iPad. You just select your song with lyrics from YouTube and belt it out! My coworker LOVES karaoke, so it was great that we found this spot to get a few in before our flights. We came in during happy hour time and there were a few drink specials. I think the majority of them were 30% off the normal price. They also have a ton of soju and soju cocktails which was cool. One friend got the Tokyo tea which was super strong. They serve food also, although I didn't look at the menu. I will say it was some potent kimchi. Service was good. There was only one person working there since we got them kind of early in the night. Update: Sool was the perfect venue for my birthday party! I did a full buyout of the bar for 3 hours. It was a good amount of space for my party of 42 people. With the full buyout we got the whole venue, including the upstairs private karaoke room! I was allowed to bring in my own DJ as well. Sool also provided catering for us. From the planning phase, their events manager Kha was very communicative, gave me all the info I needed, and answered all of my questions. The staff was great on the day of the party. My friends and I had a wonderful time. We loved the drinks (the soju cocktails were a big hit), the venue itself, the karaoke song selection (They had KPop Demon Hunters songs!), and the food. I wasn't hungry, so I didn't get to try the food, but I enjoyed everything else! This is a karaoke bar that I walked by several times during my stay in San Fran and I was eager to eventually check it out. I was able to grab a quick drink one time, but I was unable to sing -- there was a couple that was hogging the mic and I was too lazy to ask for a turn. My timeframe was pretty tight. But on my last day, I came in with some colleagues right when they opened, which is also when happy hour starts. There are plenty of soju options -- I saw some people with carafes which seems dangerous, haha. There was only one woman working, and she was bartending and cooking in the back. I recently did a buyout of the downstairs bar area at Sool for my birthday, and it was absolutely perfect! The space was the ideal size for my group of ~30, and everyone had such a great time. The venue is flexible, economical, and has a fantastic variety of drinks and even unique soju cocktails. The Korean bar food and snacks were a huge hit too and exactly what we needed for munchies throughout the night. Working with Kha made the planning process incredibly easy. Communication was smooth from start to finish, and coordinating all the details couldn't have been more stress-free. They allowed outside food and décor as well if you wanted to make the event feel more personal. Overall, the whole experience was amazing. Came here during pride weekend. It was pretty small but everyone was nice. Their specialty drinks were very good! Only thing was, a dog had come up to us and then went behind the bar. My friend is allergic to dogs and we ended up having to leave as the dog kept coming back to sit on the couch with us. Karaoke was still very fun! read more

The reason for the review is due to the bartender. We've come a few times and have gotten the same bartender each time. They have consistently been rude / giving attitude each time. It's located just outside of Chinatown SF and has both public karaoke (downstairs) and a Private VIP Room (upstairs), Korean bar bites, and a full bar with Asian inspired cocktails, beer/wine, and of course soju! We got to spend 2 hours in the Private Room, which charges $75/hour and can hold up to 12 people! This is perfect with large groups or parties. Really good for the area! I was coordinating an event to celebrate a friend, and this was our last stop. We wanted to do karaoke and given drinking in the area prior, this was a good place to end the night for karaoke. Our dinner kept running long and I had to change the reservation time a few times, but the staff were responsive and it was great. The venue for private room karaoke on the 2nd floor was cool - the space is separated into two main areas for karaoke and you can fit about 12 people in there comfortably. The songs were pretty wide ranging, including some recent songs. For the braver people (or those who like to do stage karaoke) there's a space in their main floor for karaoke. There's also an alcove in the back of the space for more group-gathering. It also looked like it can be reserved. This is a beer/wine/soju only bar, so no hard liquor. My friends wanted to try this spot because they heard about their Korean based cocktails, and I am glad I got to try it for the first time! We got there just before 10 PM and they were actually closed for a private reservation and would reopen at 10 PM. I didn't know many bars that closed for private events but since the bar offers karaoke, having a reservation for a planned event is recommended. There's one main karaoke area on the first floor next to the entrance, and there's an upstairs area which I believe has more karaoke rooms. I got to try the Sool Margarita, Ube Keopi, and Strawberry Moon IU split with my friends. The Sool Margarita was a nice twist to a regular margarita since it contained soju, and I like how it did not have a strong alcohol taste. The Ube Keopi was a popular drink in our group and also not super strong with a nice ube flavor! The Strawberry Moon IU was a soju cocktail that was watered down which may be due to the amount of ice and waiting a little long to drink. We ordered a carafe which the menu says serves 3 but I think you can split with more than 3 people. Soju cocktails are $11/glass vs $22 for a carafe so worth it to split a carafe if you have a big group! Came here for a private event on a Friday night. There's plenty of street parking as well as parking garages nearby. They have karaoke rooms upstairs and some tables downstairs and a dj. Since it was bought out for the night I believe the minimum was which includes tax and tip. When we ordered our drinks, gratuity was already included in the bill. They had a variety of soju / Korean style and themed drinks. The bar however didn't feel like a full bar to me, we had to always ask for ice and the drinks felt warm or maybe because it was warm inside they melted quickly. I really enjoyed the ube cocktail that was like an ube espresso martini. They had a variety of Korean food like kimchi, dumplings, and chicken. It looked like they had a small kitchen and the food was air fried but it wasn't bad, especially while drinking. I also believe there's a cake cutting fee. read more

The song selection is pretty decent to my eye, except the songbook of Tom Waits is sadly lacking. Couldn't figure out how to get to YouTube for some more selections, but no worries, we made do. Downstairs there was a DJ for the hoi-polloi and the soundproofing was excellent. I want to share the uncomfortable experience we had yesterday at this place. It has a nice atmosphere, but the bartender was rude to me and most of our group. We had reserved a spot to celebrate a birthday, and everything started off well. But at some point, the bartender's attitude changed. Every time we ordered something, she was rude. At one point, she held onto my card, and when I politely asked for it back, she got upset and spoke to me in a disrespectful way, just for asking for my own card. She insisted that I had asked to keep a tab open, which wasn't true. Moreover, she was incredibly rude to one of our friends--she yelled at him loudly in front of everyone, making him feel uncomfortable. I've never seen staff treat customers like that before. She was frustrated because his card wasn't going through, but she wouldn't accept that the issue wasn't on his end. He even showed her his balance and explained that it wasn't his fault, but she kept yelling and mistreating him. It's disappointing to see a nice place have employees like this. I wanted to share this because if they treated us this way, they could easily do the same to other customers, which will only hurt their business in the long run. read more

Came with a couple of friends to check this place out because of the IG ads popping up on my feed - it looked really promising. When I stepped in though, It was very different from what I imagined it to be - my impression was that it would be a very Korean-based bar but besides the name and the some of the drinks served, it was a very modern bar with a diverse audience. There was a live DJ and two bartenders; all were super friendly and the bartender even danced with us at one point. I was impressed by their cocktails and the Soju-rita (my friend also got the Island Puch Sangria but didn't like it as much as the Soju-Rita). I saw that there was karaoke some nights from another review but realized that there are specific VIP rooms upstairs reserved for more special occasions and private events. Upstairs was a bit crowded with the bathrooms and the VIP rooms located next to each other, but overall, the vibes were VERY chill. I had rented the bar out for my birthday party in January. I worked with Kha via email to get it all set up. Kha was VERY attentive, and very responsive, and answered any and all questions I had. Which I truly appreciated! Kha was also very flexible if I ran into any issues. Really shows they care in my opinion. The drinks at the bar are really yummy, the Alchemy of Souls being my favorite. Roughly 50 of my friends showed up, and the bartenders were kind, and effecient from start to finish. Shoutout to Jin! She's amazing! I didn't try any of the food there as I brought snacks, cake and cupcakes for everyone, but those of my friends who did order the food said: "It's not too bad." The atmosphere was nice, and the lights and neons lights were stunning. Karaoke systems worked very well, and the bar was kept clean throughout our time there which I loved.
