We visited Sophie's for breakfast on the first Saturday they were open. There was a wait (to be expected with a new place.). We waited 15-20 minutes and were seated. All people must be there to be seated. The staff let us know the kitchen was backed up and to please be patient. There was an issue with the dishwasher that morning and something with the coffee maker. The food did take time but our waitress was great and brought our 3 year olds fruit first, a coffee cake to munch on (complimentary) and kept our coffee cups full! When the food arrived it was worth the wait! We had French toast, biscuits and gravy and oatmeal. Very good! This is a much needed addition to the westend of town and we will be back! read more

Firstly, the service is great here. Our server (Kelsie) was wonderful and attentive. The mimosas were tasty, definitely recommend the pomegranate. The food was not great. We ordered the west coast and the corned beef hash. The corned beef hash was bland and not cook correctly. The west coast...a pile of eggs with raw onion. The food is average. It's good but it's average. Average food shouldn't carry above average prices. Seriously $17 for regular old eggs Benedict. Service was nothing special. Given the open concept the employees mostly just hang out with each other and do the bare minimum for their guests. Biscuits and Gravy was a very good rendition of a traditional favorite. No frills, good old fashioned comfort food. Hash browns cooked as they should be, crispy outside, tender inside. Egg Casserole was tender and flavorful. Both dishes were nicely presented. Service was friendly and efficient. Seating area was very open feeling and well lit. Overall, an excellent experience, other than the coffee, which fell far short of the rest of the meal. Would definitely recommend breakfast here, sans coffee. read more

I had to update my review and knocking a couple stars, as our experience today for my moms birthday wasn't what a birthday breakfast should be! There was mushy pasta in my moms oatmeal and we didn't get offered a sorry when we showed our waitress, just "that's gross." We thought maybe she would discount the oatmeal, but that didn't happen either. Our waters never got refilled and overall it wasn't the great experience. We live on the property and always did referrals to eat there, but that was pretty disappointing! read more

Super service and great food! Dog friendly patio. People there went out of their way to help us. We had ordered to go not knowing we could take our dog. When I arrived to pick up I asked if we could sit outside with our dog and they said we could. A very friendly woman/waitperson, came out and offered us real plates and silverware to eat off rather than the Togo boxes and brought water fir Rowdy! I ordered the Mandarin Chicken Salad For $16.00. It was a sad presentation and a disappointing salad to eat. A very small portion, minimal bits of chicken, no cashews, about 4 pieces of lettuce. The rest was cabbage and celery with 5 segments of a rather dry clementine. The salad was so lightly dressed I can't comment on the flavor of the sesame dressing. We're always on the hunt for a great breakfast spot, and Sophie's Kitchen now tops the list when we're in Billings. Staff is on point, and the blueberry compote lemon coffee cake was delightful! Stopped by for breakfast the other day, really great rendition of a mid-century motif, makes it a fun place to eat at. Super friendly and efficient staff. But the best is the food, I had eggs Benedict, the eggs were poached perfectly. My husband was happy to find they serve lunch at breakfast time too and had the BLT with a homemade cream of mushroom soup. The bacon was thick and delicious and the sandwich had garlic mayo that was really fresh. Plus so many mushrooms in the soup! We will be back soon and often! read more

My husband and I decided to try Sophie's for dinner for the first time last night and it was one of the best decisions we've ever made! We shared the Coconut Prawns and the Shrimp Tacos and they were FANTASTIC! The pinapple/habanero sauce that's served with the prawns was nothing short of delightful and the spice in the tacos was outstanding! We rounded the meal off with a couple of wonderful glasses of Sauvignon Blanc to boot. Our server Sophia was fantastic and very attentive. Was excited to try the new place and was in a newly build area of town. The area surrounding looked sleek and clear along with a wellness studio just a couple doors down. It being on the west end I thought it would be high end, good, creative food eatery, so I went there for breakfast. Unfortunately it was nothing but disappointing. -The floor plan felt oddly spread out and uncomfortable -The food options on the menu were on par with things you could get at your franchise Denny's, but for a higher cost and less food. (Even so much to even have an egg, bacon pancake meal called 'Slammin' which is what Denny's calls theirs.) - My wife doesn't eat red meat and specifically asked for no bacon on her breakfast sandwich, to which on her first bite, stopped in horror and pulled out a slice of bacon. -They gave everyone a single slice of an orange like you'd get in a cafeteria and I guess wanted to call that a garnish? -They told us their special: "today's special is our French toast (already on the menu) and we put strawberries on top." Very insignificant and obviously didn't have much thought to it. - a slice of GF toast was $3.50.... (what???) - I left still feeling hungry after ordering the chicken fried steak (half the portion of CFS you'd get anywhere else) with egg and hash browns. We left feeling pretty disappointed for being in the area it was, with all of the new/fancy complexes and businesses. Between getting my meal and my wife's breakfast sandwich, and a couple waters, we spent $30 for an underwhelming meal. ‍Oh well. We won't be back. Overall the atmosphere is nice and very busy. When our food was served we immediately noticed it was luke warm and definitely not hot. I ordered a side biscuit that was not even warm as evidenced by the super soft butter that didn't melt when I spread it. A cold breakfast biscuit? Go figure. The main entree' we each ordered had a nice flavor and seemed to be very fresh...just not hot. The coffee was very good and the staff was super nice. We will certainly give Sophie's another try as this is the type of place we really need on the West End of Billings. I think Sophie's can be a fantastic go-to place for breakfast. read more

There were three in our party. It was so loud we could not visit. Even though we were seated within 10 minutes, the service was slow. They were out of clean eating utensils so we received forks for our meal. The table next to us received spoons so I suppose we were lucky. Expensive and Bad. While I understand this restaurant has its roots in Seattle, anyone familiar with Snooze in Denver will recognize a lot of the branding and decor. Part of my complaint is they will not recognize the food. My approach to restaurants is the same one that I use with wine. It is not fair to expect the same out of a $10 bottle of wine as a $50 bottle. If you buy the $50 bottle, at a minimum, the wine should be good. Sophie's Kitchen is very expensive for breakfast. For two of us, it was over $40, not including a tip. I don't have the time to dissect every sub-standard aspect of our breakfast. Here are a couple of problems: The Hollandaise sauce does not come out of a can from Sysco, but it is completely tasteless and compares unfavorably with that you would get at Snooze or many places that prepare Hollandaise in the kitchen. A side order of bacon is $4.50. For that I got two greasy, lukewarm pieces of bacon swimming in a plate of grease. If this place wanted to improve, I suggest the owner take everyone on a road trip to Denver and they eat at a Snooze restaurant. read more
