We took our one year old, Ragdoll kitty to be groomed, for the first time, by Tiffany at Sophisticats. We live in Hollister. Sophisticats is based out of Monterey. Tiffany was kind enough to meet us halfway, with her mobile, feline only, grooming van. From the very first time I spoke with Tiffany, she put my mind at easy. Answering my questions, and asking a few about Waylon and his grooming needs. I felt comfortable right from the start. Waylon was blowing his first undercoat, and I couldn't keep up with the mats, which were starting to form very quickly. Tiffany and the wonderful gentleman she has working along side of her, met my husband and son in a good, safe location. Waylon was relaxed as Tiffany came to get Waylon in his carrier. Where he promptly started purring and being affectionate with her. Then off he went in to the grooming mobile. An hour and a half later, Waylon emerge bathed, trimmed a bit, all matting was removed, and claws were trimmed. He looked , felt and smelled wonderful. Waylon showed no sign of stress, at all. As you can see in the photo that Tiffany took of Waylon in the Sophisticats, mobile, grooming van. We highly recommend Tiffany of Sophisticats for any grooming services your kitty may need. We are looking forward to future visits with Waylon and perhaps our other kitty, June Bug. The prices are very reasonable, and the services are professional, compassionate and wonderful. So disappointed with this groomer. My 15 year old cat was used to her and I was given the run around by her for months, her book was full, she was out of town, she had Covid, she thought she had Covid, wouldn't even attempt to reach out to me to reschedule the appts. Not even any apologies regarding these repeated cancelations but would charge me on a cancelation. Then today said she couldn't do my cat because he requires two people to manage him, like really?? She's never ever said he was hard to manage. I would never ever recommend her to anyone ever..,so unprofessional. She scheduled and canceled and my cat 4 times even after telling me how important he needed to be on a schedule. Guess it wasn't important. read more

Maybe I will be able to upgrade this rating in the future, but when I really needed my cat groomed due to getting spayed by a skunk, this place remained silent. We adopted our lovely long hair kitty several years ago from a local shelter. I thought if I brushed her regularly I could handle her long fur. Wrong. She would matt, shed a lot, toss up hair balls (even with laxatone) and looked really shaggy. A friend at the shelter where we adopted our little girl recommended Sophisticats to me. Tiffany is wonderful, today she groomed my "Maddy", who is a 10 year old long hair. Maddy was a rescue and had been badly abused when she was a kitten, so she has never trusted many people. When Tiffany came in with the carrier I was holding tight to Maddy so I could hand her over and Tiffany put her hand on Maddy and suddenly my kitty just relaxed...when she was done with the grooming Maddy got out of the carrier and just laid on the floor, which was not typical. If Maddy was afraid or had most people around she would hide, but after 1 1/2 hrs of grooming Maddy wasn't afraid. I cannot more highly recommend her as a groomer..she is fabulous and her rates are very reasonable. read more

I was very pleased. Tiffany is very knowledgeable on grooming cats. My Maine Coon had gotten very matted. Tiffany thought she could comb them out. She came to me with the situation and we decided that a lion cut would be the best. She did a great job. Now that Wilson has gotten used to his new short do I think he is very comfortable and I being able to see how his skin is looking is a good thing too. it's all true. I read the reviews and thought if Tiffany was half as good as people said it would be good. She and Chris are terrific with cats. I met them in Salinas with my 2 persians. On the way home not a peep of complaining from my fur babies. In the house, they are happy, eating, fluffy, smell wonderful, feel so nice and clean and most importantly they are RELAXED. Tiffany is awesome!!! She showed up on time, was very pleasant and professional. She had great energy! There was a conversation to agree upon the services and away my Turkish Van (Dexter) went for his pampering experience. We had him shampooed and blow dried, nails trimmed and his tummy shaved. For those that don't know the breed, they are a medium to long hair cat and they tend toward matting if not brushed daily. It's been three weeks and he still looks spectacular! I don't know exactly how she did it but he still isn't shedding!!! An amazing feat since I could have knit at least 5 HUGE sweats from the fur he sheds on a weekly basis. An hour and a half later he was returned to our house relaxed and sooooooooo silky soft!!! He came out of the carrier and lie down on the carpet and just looked regal and so very happy. That deep, trilling purr was all we needed to hear, he was a happy boy! We would never think of using anyone other than Sophisticats and plan on using them quarterly!!!! Amazing experience all around! Tiffany knew how to make my normally skittish cat calm and relaxed enough to bathe and groom her. She is a long haired cat and had many unmanageable mats from years of rolling in the dirt and refusing to be groomed. In an hour tiffany returned my gorgeous, great smelling cat, I barely recognized her! Not only were all the mats gone but her fur was trimmed so she was still long haired but not unmanageable like before. Her nails were trimmed too but the best part was how good she smelled. We adopted a three year old cat from rescue a couple of months ago. Her claws really needed to be clipped. My husband and I tried to clip them, but had trouble because she would not hold still. I remembered seeing this truck driving around that catered to grooming only cats. I had seen quite a few canine mobile grooming trucks, but this was the first time I ever had seen one just for felines. I contacted Sophisticats and made an appointment. Tiffany, the owner, was trained as a Certified Feline Master Groomer at the National Cat Groomers Institute in SC. She genuinely cares for all her clients and is very kind and took the time to speak with me before and after and answer any questions that I had. Sophisticats is a self contained truck and arrived on time. For our kitty's safety, she was put in a carrier to transport her between the house and truck. Her nails were clipped, she was shampooed twice and dried. For anyone that is doubting that a short haired cat needs to be bathed, let me tell you, she is not shedding anymore, which will help prevent hairballs. Her coat is softer than ever, and she smells really nice. Her claws were clipped shorter than I ever could have clipped them. I honestly thought that she was going to be mad and sulk around the house afterwards, but that was not the case. She apparently did not mind her "spa day." Just had the most fantastic Mobile Cat Groomer, Tiffany at Sophisticats. Our cat was terrified (mostly of everything). My older cat Sammy hates grooming so much. I have brought him to groomers and vets who all suggest sedating him for grooming. Being an older cat I worry about the effects of sedation and was looking for an alternative. I brought him to Tiffany a matted mess because he won't even let me brush him! Our cat, Emme, had extremely long nails when we adopted her and even the vet could not calm her enough to clip them! So, we made an appointment and Tiffany came to the house to help. She spoke quietly to Emme and asked permission to touch her, picked her up with no resistance, and took her out to the van to clip her nails! Both cats had gotten fleas from our dog so they desperately needed a bath and I didn't feel I could do a good enough job bathing them myself.
