You got to be kidding! This place was awful One stop Meatballs were mediocre. Homemade, wow Garlic knots were soaked in grease, looked like they had been under the lamp for a really long time, inedible Antipasto salad, mushy, old, bad!!! The slice of pizza was descent, but with the name Soprano's if you can't do descent pizza what's the point. Out of $25 of food I ate a slice of pizza!! Normally they sell excellent Prosciutto, However the last two times I stopped to buy some they would only show the butt end of an old piece and it was poor quality, so I did not buy. They would not see if they had a new piece. read more

Such a nice group of people working there. The older woman at the bakery counter was so very helpful and lovely. We tried several baked goods, lunch, and breakfast pizza. The m&m cookie sandwich was good but the filling was a little too sweet for me, the filling in the woopie pie was super good - the cake itself was good but the filling was best. The peanut butter cookie was amazing!! So yummy! I only tried the large sugar cookie and it was again, fabulous! So good we went back the next day to bring cookies home. We had cheese pizza that was really good. We thought we got honey barbecue pizza but it ended up being honey mustard. Very unique but still good. The breakfast pizza was good also. I tried the bacon and the sausage. The sausage was a little spicy but delicious, my favorite was the bacon though. If I lived in the area I would go back often. They make the most amazing pastrami sandwich! Their meatballs are world class. Subs a phenomenal and it's pretty inexpensive. This is a super cute Italian deli with all sorts of goodies jammed in the isles. There a nice little area to sit if you want to eat in and the staff are super attentive. I am so disappointed... Purchased 4 different bakery items the other day. Not one... Not a single one was what it was supposed to be. Let's begin with the Black & White cookie. It had cake frosting on it instead of the crisp chocolate and vanilla icing. Then there were what was called Rainbow cookies... not cookies at all, more like a layer cake. The the cannoli only had a dab of filling on each end and the center was hollow. Lastly were what were supposed to be a Neapolitans. The layers were flat and heavy instead of puffy and light. The filling was sugary white cheap cake frosting instead of custard. Absolutely horrible. I dropped $25 on a purchase for a special event and everyone was shocked. These are no longer the typical Italian Pastries we grew up with and loved. Suffice it ti say... I will not be coming back to your store. read more

Let me clarify early, this review is very specific and doesn't really cover the majority of what Sopranos has to offer, so if "X" is complete and utter garbage and I don't mention it, I apologize. I grew up in Waverly and as those of you familiar with the area know, there aren't too many places that offer baked goods, a place to eat with freshly made food, and also a convenience store. Perhaps the convenience store part isn't necessary, but a deli / bakery is pretty useful to the area. Before my sister and mother were diagnosed with a gluten allergy, I recall getting half moon cookies and pizza from here. I always liked the half moon cookies and the pizza was always passable. I also came here a few times with my girlfriend's family (now fiancee) and recall having some decent dinners of pizza and I think a sub. Nowadays since I don't live in the area / state I don't have the opportunity to eat here, but every chance we get we request some of their Garlic Quarter pizzas. I kid you not, if relatives come visit us in VA, we ask them to bring a couple. When I drove back from visiting at Christmas, I brought back two quarter sheets and froze them. The garlic pizza is great; it's garlicky, cheesy, and gets a nice crisp when you warm it up. I can completely understand those who say it's weird or gross because it's not traditional pizza, it's more something that a family business makes. When I picked up said garlic pizzas I noticed that there was still an abundance of bread and baked goods, which still looked good. I know that some people say that most of it is lousy, but my experience was that it was as good as any of the small convenience stores or grocery stores had. So I guess I leave this short closing to this review. Soprano's fills a gap for Waverly in that it offers items just not readily available outside of commercial items in a grocery store. There isn't much to compare it to and I can't say much about most of the food items or the necessity of some of the things there, but for having delicious garlic pizza and providing the community with meats and breads, I give Sopranos four stars. read more

My family and I had wraps and we were very disappointed by them. If I had 2 slices of turkey on my turkey wrap, I would be surprised. I have worked in a deli many years and if I had made a wrap/ sandwich/ hoagie like that my bosses would have questioned it. As a matter of fact they Thanked me. My sandwiches/ wraps/hoagies were well worth the money, that's why people kept coming back. It's the satisfied customers that keep little stores alive. The one thing I wish I had done was pull my wrap apart and had taken a photo to post. If I was a vegetarian it would have been great because it was mostly lettuce. I really dislike when a business posts a photo of food in their menu it looks great but when you get it, it's nothing like the photo on the menu. We've had pizza and baked goods and they were absolutely delicious. We won't stop going there but we will think twice before we order a wrap. read more

Stopped here for lunch today at the recommendation of one of our team. This place appears to have been here for years. Store and food prep areas clean. You get your own beverage from the coolers as you go towards the ordering area. Lots of food (calzones, pizzas,etc) plus quite a sizable selection of foods made to order. I tried a BLT wrap, after ordering I was told it would be brought out to the table. It was in a reasonable time, the wrap was large, in a multigrain wrap. Fresh lettuce and tomatoes, yummy and very reasonably priced. Large selection of fresh Italian pastries, cannolis were excellent! Highly recommended! read more

Since we moved to the area 14 years ago Sopranos has been one of our favorite places for pizza and subs. Always delicious and always friendly. The last few times we have been there however, not so much. The staff are rude, curt and clueless. The food has gone significantly downhill. When picking up our order this evening had to tell three different people what we were waiting for and no one could seem to find it. Another customer was having the same issue waiting for two subs. When we got home one item was partly wrong, and the sauce was ice cold. The sub roll was hard as a rock on one end and mushy on the other. The sandwich itself was barely lukewarm. Used to recommend this establishment to people but that won't happen anymore. Shame to see a once great place driving customers away. We will go spend our money somewhere that actually takes pride in their food and are nice to their customers. read more

We have never been disappointed with Soprano's. Since Guthrie Clinic and Robert Packer Hospital are used a great deal by our family, we frequently find ourselves grabbing a sub or a pizza after a doctor visit or to bring to the hospital. We have brought desserts, sauce, meatballs and pasta to friends going through difficult times and have always heard rave reviews. My brother claims they have the best garlic knots anywhere but we've yet to try them! Our very favorite? The white garlic pizza.....YUM! read more

Okay the Valley is blessed with two very good Italian Deli's. This place is in Waverly and very well known for it's great selection of sandwiches and pizza's. Additionally it has a very good bakery. First the Sandwiches are awesome. They come in 3 sizes, and I have yet to find one that isn't fabulous. If you tried one a week, it would take nearly a year to get through the selections. Trouble is some of them are so good, I hate to miss an opportunity for another. The pizza is good, as are the Calzones. Although I find the Calzones a bit on the dry side, be sure to ask for extra sauce, on the side. The inside dining area is about 6 tables, and there is no table service. You get your order and pay at the register, before supping. There are also some outside tables on the porch and in the summer it's kind of nice. Mainly though, this is a take out place. The bakery is generally good, but for some reason, some of the items in the case look better than they taste. Perhaps too heavy on the sweets. A land mark in the area. Worth a visit, for a sandwich if nothing more than to be dazzled by the choices. read more
