They checked the tire pressure, filled air in the rear tire. They tested the tires, found no leak, and I was able to go on my way after only $25. No hard upsells, just straight forward service. When I walked in he was looking at the wall like I didn't exist. Gave him the reg and he asked me what was wrong with it. I said I don't know. He told me the truck was a 88. Told him that is was I told him on the phone and he preceded to tell me that I said 97 on the phone and told me that he can't smog it. After running the vehicle for about 10 minutes, the technician approached me with his arm extended, holding a credit card reader. He didn't say a word or explain the results--just stood there waiting for payment. That alone made it clear something wasn't right. I paid the fee and then asked how the smog check went. He told me the Jeep passed all emissions tests but that he was going to fail it based on a visual inspection, claiming I had added aftermarket parts. I explained that I've owned the Jeep for over 14 years, have never made any modifications, and it has never failed a smog check before. Despite that, he still failed the vehicle based on the visual inspection and said I'd need to take it to a DMV smog referee to dispute the claim, and possibly replace parts to get it approved. He also mentioned that I could be a police officer and that he had to "err on the side of caution," so he flags anything he possibly can during inspections to protect himself. Overall, he came across as paranoid, behaved shady, and most likely has had trouble with the police for illegal smog practices. If you already have a reliable smog tech that you have taken your car to in the past and it passed smog you would be better off going there.

Also my check engine light was coming on & off so i was concerned it wouldn't pass. Long story short the mechanic was awesome he did a very thorough visual check and found the problem. Then he fixed it for free!! FYI i believe this is a test only station BUT if your car doesn't pass you don't pay. I will Highly Recommend this place to my family and friends. By the way it Passed.
