Buyer Beware - Argus Co. Lacks Integrity - A Costly Mistake. They Sell Lemons and Threaten…read moreRestraining Orders When Asking for Accountability! I wish I could give Argus Co. and its owner, Michael Gay, zero stars. My experience buying a 2005 BMW Z4 was nothing short of a nightmare. I had previously purchased a car from him and trusted his word, which made this betrayal even more upsetting. The night I bought the car, the windows were fogged, and he dismissed my concerns. The next morning, I discovered the real issue--missing window seals in the convertible top. He promised to fix it, and the repair was a joke - from De Laveaga Service Center- mismatched pieces that left an unsealed, unprofessional mess. Then came the real problems. The day after my purchase, the check engine light went on. Michael shrugged it off. A few days later, my car was completely dead and needed a jump. A tire pressure light was also on from the start. Again, he dismissed my concerns. Eventually, a mechanic confirmed the car had a broken front wheel and two cracked rear tires--an unsafe disaster. I was sold a sports car with three dangerous wheels. When I pushed for repairs, he sent me to Big O Tires, where the situation got even worse. They put the faulty wheel back on. Shortly after, I found myself trapped inside the car, unable to open the door from the inside--a terrifying safety hazard. If I had been in an accident, I could have been stuck inside a burning vehicle. Then, while driving, the car suddenly lost power--engine failure. It barely made it to a parking lot before completely shutting down. The next morning, it wouldn't even turn over. I contacted Michael Gay immediately--from day two--detailing the dangerous and unethical state of the car he sold me. Instead of taking responsibility, he dismissed my concerns, ignored my emails, said my text messages were too much (most people would have a threat response dropping into your autonomic nervous system, feeling threatened by investing over $10,000 on a lemon and being told everything's OK don't worry when in fact now I have a dead car sitting in my driveway ) and ultimately he threatened me with a restraining order for demanding he fix the vehicle. This dealership sold me a lemon under the pretense of it being a reliable car. If you value your safety, your money, and your sanity, stay far away from Argus Co. Michael Gay does not stand by his sales, dismisses legitimate safety issues, and when confronted, responds with threats instead of accountability. Do not trust this business. Save yourself thousands of dollars and a world of frustration.

I saw this 2016 Audi allroad at this dealership 2 weeks prior to my purchase date at a "good…read moreprice" and wanted to have the sales person/owner; Charlie Yeo send me a video and he would not use the online format I suggested and was somewhat unreasonable so I decided I didnt want to make a 2 hour trip based on pictures. Two weeks later the price was adjusted over $1000 less to $6999 + gov't fees = $8,068 so I drove up the hill and test drove it for 38 minuets. I drove it on the freeway twice, pushed the speed, manually shifted it, hard breaked it and stopped to check out some of the electronics and found the drivers left mirror was faulty. The glass was not fixed to the movement motor and about to fall off. Not a big deal but technically a "safety issue". We arrived at the dealership and did a check on all the lights and had no problems o I decided to get a bank check to buy it based on me thinking all I would have to do is spend $200 on replacing the mirror and assembly and a check up. Now I know all used car sales are As-Is and final but he reason why I am writing this is because I want to share my Post Story. After driving it down the hill and 3 days later a warning light came on "Stop the vehicle immediately and check fluids". The radiator resivor was empty, I purchased gallon, another gallon and another until I took it in for an assessment. I needed a water pump which was my worst case thought for this vehicle and common for this model at 123,000 miles. I would have spent the $1600 fixing it but I was also told " the timing chain was stretched". This is a $5-8,000 fix for both! Dispite Charlie telling me "you can have somebody look at the car here" and him asking me to "sign off on the mirror that we won't fix it" what I was told days later was that the "check engine light should have came on much earlier" I was also told something else that has led me to believe that this dealership knew this vehicle needed major work. Another odd statement front Charlie was that "your plates and registration should come in the mail in about two months". I know dealers have 10 days to have sale documents into the state but based on personal experience this rings very...odd. MY LESSION: I would have better lost $200 having an independent inspector look at it and drove back rather then loose $8,000. When you go to THIS DEALER take a mechanic or hire an inspector. The Best Dealer placard that they have on the wall is not what I experienced because after this unit being on there lot for months I am of the opion they should have auctioned it off rather then knowingly selling a vehicle for 8k that is worth 3k base on the work needed. I took my one-time large VA disability check and threw it away! As long as this place has been in business I may be the minority opion but this is just BAD BUSINESS.

Throughout it all, I appreciated that Jeremy was knowledgeable, no-bs, patient, and responsive. I never had to communicate with the dealer at all, until I showed up at the dealership for my test drive, where the salesman had all the paperwork ready to go. From test drive arrival to leaving the dealer with my new car, it only took 2 hours, which feels pretty efficient. I don't really understand how Jeremy gets paid because he didn't charge me for anything, but I'm so glad I found him.

Both experiences were delightful, stress free (who would associate stress-free when you buy a car?) and quick. No hassle car buying - that should be his business's title. He helped us narrow down the list of cars we were looking at and make a decision that worked for us. He also scheduled all the test drives, negotiated the prices, and pointed us to a specific person at the dealership, a complete VIP experience. He did the same for our friends just this week, they bought a great car in a great condition, he negotiated the price down and steered them away from less desirable options. My friend was nervous (just like I was before ) because the process of buying a car is stressful. But after they got into the dealership and the car was waiting for them, they test drove and bought the car. My friend said: who would have thought that I can enjoy buying a car! And that's all thanks to Jeremy. Believe me I'm not hyping him up, he is professional, kind and customer centric. Thank you Jeremy!
