I needed to go to an urgent care clinic to get a foot abrasion looked at. I was already skeptical because the last time I went to an urgent care clinic they gave me really bad info that led to disastrous results and I have been highly skeptical ever since. This one I am glad to report is one of the good ones. Basically everybody that works there is great from the front desk Michelle who is helpful and relatable. The medical assistant Katie made me feel comfortable let me ask my questions and instruct me on what I needed to know. Then I met Dr. G who went above and beyond to let me know how serious my various conditions were that I had and gave me a practical but tactical plan to intelligently work to stop and potentially reverse each one. I had a number of side problems that I thought were unrelated to my core issue and he patiently thoroughly explained how they were all related and how it would progress to something much worse potentially something that could really ruin my life. I ask a lot of questions the doctors which I'm sure annoys them, but due to having some weird stuff I felt let down by so many. I have educated myself deeply on my own health issues but of course I am biased and have blind spots. The fact that I went to an urgent care to take care of a foot but that I was able to be happily convinced to intervene now and work with him to take the necessary steps towards greater health is something I've never seen before. And I have yet to see Dr. Axl which I should be doing soon I already have great faith that he will follow in the same great care and quality. Talking to Dr. G he explained how not urgent care centers are the same and that there's different ways they can operate and that really showed me what a gem I have stumbled upon. They have a primary care doctor there which is amazing so now I can switch my doctor there and make appointments for that or walk-ins. Now I don't know how expensive this is for everyone everyone has their own concerns with how that all breaks down. But Dr. G was very thorough with me in helping me even to understand to make it work which I've never seen before at any of the doctors I've been to. He did a thorough work up on me getting the bulk of test done today which I now have a series of follow ups that I can do and I know that I'm on the right track now. For anyone reading this I know that we all have different issues different concerns it's really hard to find a good doctor if you don't have one already and I suggest if you live in this area and you need an urgent care try this one out make sure, make sure you're clear on everything, as we know you can get surprises but the office is transparent and upfront as this, that delivers such quality as well as offering a multitude of services not seen by most urgent care centers, I think Xcel Urgent Care is a great add to Falls Church and is worth a visit if you're considering it, read more

I went to this urgent care to get blood tests done and I was paying out of pocket. I was clearly given an estimate of $400-$500 to do the labs at their office, and I agreed based on that price. Later, Dr. Akl told me that he has his own private clinic and that he could do the tests there. I took an appointment at his travel clinic, but they quoted me $900-$1000, so I decided to return to the urgent care office since it was more affordable and we already had an agreed price. When the doctor saw me, he said: "You will pay $900 either here or there," implying that the decision was his, not mine. Honestly, the staff were very kind and cooperative, but this doctor's attitude was unprofessional, especially since there was already a price agreement at this clinic. When a patient is paying out of pocket, the final decision should always be the patient's, based on their budget and comfort -- not pressured into a more expensive option. This place has gone above and beyond. I've seen the pictures the women is talking about and as a multicultural family, we disagree and are intrigued by the history of medicine. The care was open and I felt comfortable talking about what needed to be discussed. They will check on you if you really have an emergency and let you know what's up. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The front desk staff, the clean and bright waiting area, and especially the nurses and Dr. G are exceptional. I had a very bad day searching for a place that would do T spot TB testing. CVS kept sending me to all their locations because none of them do blood test. And needed specifically blood TB test. Eventually one of the CVS associates recommended me this place. Oh boy, this place made my day! This place clean, quiet and not much crowded.( I was there at 5:30pm) Michelle at reception was very professional, kind and beautiful lady. I went to two other UCs in my area looking for some relief to my ever spreading Rash to no avail. I then searched for a dermatologists and discovered one in Fairfax that happened have a next day scheduling that I felt fortunate to secure. Fast forward 7 am the next day I get a phone call from the receptionist stating they can not see me at the reserved time and they dont take my health care company even though it was all clearly stated on their website. I start to panic becasue said rash has been crippling me for about 6 days now and it continued to claim more real estate on my body on its own accord. I get on zocdoc and come across this amazing establishment and its forever caring Staff. Dr G (Dr Raschid Ghoorahoo) is the TRUTH and went the extra mile for me on every ailment I was experiencing. Even though I was the last patient of a very busy day I was never rushed. He took his time to cover all the bases which I am forever grateful for. originally I had set up a TeleHealth appointment of which quickly morphed into an in office visit the very same day.. He squeezed me in as a walk in and I hardly noticed a wait. This Gentleman has genuine care for his patients and I know for a fact that kids love him given his health themed novelty decorated laptop cart he weilds putting them at ease of any reservations or aversion they may be harboring. I arrived as a walk-in at 7:20. They are open until 8 but said that no more patients could be seen. I asked to speak with a manager and was told by the nurse practitioner that they have the discretion to cut off patients apparently any time they want. There were 2 people in the waiting room. After testing positive for COVID-19 on a home test, I went to Xcel to get confirmation and, if necessary, treatment. I'd never been to any urgent care facility. The office was bright and clean, the receptionist pleasant and helpful. I was seen by an Rn within about 15 minutes after I arrived. She took swabs for COVID, strep and the flu. About ten minutes later I saw Dr. Ghoorahoo (Dr. G). he was very pleasant and thorough. He prescribed a 5 day course of paxlovid and cautioned that I needed to discontinue use of one of my medications for the duration of the paxlovid course. in addition, they called the following day to ask how I was doing; a first for me. I could not have been more pleased with the courteous, capable attention I received. read more

May 4: Went for a sprained ankle on Saturday,waited 2 hours and got an x-ray. They said they would call me about the xray results within 4 hours. I got no calls. May 10: I left a voicemail, because no one picked up. No response. May 17 noon: I called them and they said they'll call back. May 17 end of day: they said they're emailing it to me right away. Guess what - there is no email. This is the problem when a medical center has no patient portal for written communication. My wife, visited Xcel Urgent Care clinic in Falls Church on Sunday afternoon, August 25, 2024 for possible burns on her soft palate. She was seen by Ms. Raur, Pawanpreet. The provider told my wife that her palate seems to have a cyst (bump) with lesion on top which is a symptom of a CANCER tumor or a mass and referred her to an ENT specialist. My wife and I were shaken, shocked and rattled by the unexpected devastating news. On Monday morning, August 26,2024 we visited our dentist for a specialist check up. We were relieved that we did. Our dentist assured my wife that there was no lesion or pump and there is no sign of a CANCER. It was nothing more than the bone of her mouth anatomy. Relived by our dentist diagnosis, we both reflected on what your provider told my wife. To our surprise, the referral given by the provider, the Patient's Ledger as shown on the bill and provider diagnosis , they all do not seem to match. We believe that the provider diagnosis was unprofessional and misleading. THe above feedback was emailed to XCEL Urgent Care, but alas, no response. The lack of response is nothing but a proof of negligence and unprofessional medical practice. It's a lack of transparency. I'm writing this as a customer feedback in the hope that such treatment would not happen with other patients. These pictures are what you see when walking into one of the rooms at XCEL URGENT CARE at baileys crossroads. I'm appalled. For context the painting of the doctor they so proudly mounted on their walls is Dr Sims', whose research was conducted on enslaved Black women without anesthesia. Historians and others say his use of enslaved Black bodies as medical test subjects falls into a long, ethically bereft history that includes the Tuskegee syphilis experiment and Henrietta Lacks. This man claimed that black women didn't feel pain like white woman did. This man is part of the reason black women receive low quality care. As a black woman, seeing this makes me SICK to my gut. I asked for management to no avail. I expressed my concern to a woman that did my test and she shrugged me off and said "Yes I'll bring it up to the owner" and ALSO added that she's heard the complaint before?? I was traveling internationally and required a quick turn on a RT-PCR COVID test. This facility, located in a strip mall in Falls Church, was outstanding. I was in and out in less than half an hour. Also, one of the most comfortable COVID tests I have taken, and I have taken several, since I travel frequently. Staff was courteous and accommodating. I went to this urgent care clinic, I keep coughing and having a hard time to breath went inside to check in no appt. The lady at front is very friendly and nice. Wait to be called and it didn't take too long to wait the asst. Nurse are nice too then got to see Dr G. He is very nice as well. Get X-ray and everything. He send me to hospital right away coz of my situation. The next day he called my grandkids and husband see how am I doing. I called him back and told him what happen. I received Evusheld shots today with a minimum of fuss. Evusheld is still hard to locate, so I was very happy to find treatment in a comfortable, walk-in setting. The staff was very professional and kind. During the one-hour waiting period after the shots, they checked on me periodically to make sure I was comfortable and was not having any adverse reactions. I will be going back to Xcel to renew my Evusheld protection in 6 months. read more

Do not go here if you are in need of a rapid results test, this location does not participate with any insurance except for Medicare and are charging $400 for rapid results and at minimum $100 for results with a 3-5 day wait. I understand they just opened and they are not doing anything except for COVID-19 testing and still need to make revenue but charging so much in a pandemic makes me sick to my stomach. I went to Xcel urgent care for a Covid test in order to travel. I was in and out in a half hour. Plus, Jose was great. Other places are rough and painful with the test, but he was very patient and gentle. He also made conversation which contributed to the pleasant visit. I would definitely go back. read more

Received covid 19 vaccination at this urgent care via the Fairfax county registration system. The staff are uninformed & rude. I questioned the CDC vaccination card which is larger in size, thinner and with faded prints making it look like it was copied. I simply asked if this card would be considered valid & if there were any questions about the validity of the card, the urgent care clinic could provide supporting documents. The MA ( medical assistant) who gave the shot dismissed my concern in a demeaning way & almost shouted to me it was no problem without any sincere effort to answer my questions. The worse was when I asked if my time for observation was 10 min after the shot, he again shouted " 5 min for you!", implying I spent too much time asking questions. The observation room was not watched by any staff & people left earlier. Not a safely run vaccination site. I am planning to complain on the Fairfax country website as well. read more
