This was by far my best dental experience since I've been in the Hampton Roads area (3 years…read moretotal). It was extremely easy to book an appointment and they were able to get me in within a week to fix a broken filling. The staff was very warm and welcoming. The ambiance of the office was extremely relaxing and I didn't feel as if the process was being rushed, and my concerns were heard and addressed! I have really bad anxiety when it comes to dental procedures and even though they had to use a needle to numb the area, it honestly wasn't painful like past experiences with other dentist. I'm looking forward to future maintenance with this group!

I drove approximately 30 minutes to get there, only to be told upon arrival that the office is no longer in-network with TRICARE. What makes this especially frustrating is that when I originally scheduled my appointment, this office was in-network with my insurance. If the office decided to stop accepting TRICARE, I believe it was their responsibility to notify existing patients who had appointments scheduled--especially appointments that were booked months in advance. Had I been informed even four months ago, I would have had plenty of time to find another dentist and avoid wasting my time, gas, and an entire morning. What also bothered me was that the office seemed more than prepared to collect a copay, yet there was apparently no effort made to communicate this major insurance change to patients ahead of time. I should not have to arrive at my appointment to discover that the office is no longer accepting my insurance. This was extremely inconvenient and, in my opinion, unprofessional. I understand that insurance contracts and networks can change, but patients deserve timely communication when those changes directly affect an appointment they already scheduled. I would strongly encourage this office to improve its communication with existing patients. A simple phone call, email, or message notifying me of the insurance change could have saved me a significant amount of time and frustration.
