So I have been coming to Sottopelle for the past 6 years. The pellets are great and I can't imagine my life without them. But the downside is that their appointments run late ALWAYS!!!! I used to go to the Shea office but the doctor was always at least 30 minutes late for every appointment. So I switched to the PV office and they are a little better but it has been one thing after another so the appointments take forever. I showed up 2 weeks ago at Shea to get my implant and my hormone level was too high. Which is fine but I had waited 50 minutes past my appointment time to be told to come back in 2 weeks. Plus a phone call would have been great because we could have rescheduled without me coming in. So here I am 2 weeks later waiting and my current appointment at the PV office is now 35 minutes late. I have a job that I leave to come to these appointments. It is very frustrating when a 15-30 appointment turns into 1 to 1.5 hours due to poor time management. So much so I think it is time for me to find an alternative treatment. This is just ridiculous. read more

Let me tell you my personal experience and my best friends experience with Sotto Pelle. i had pellets for about 9 years,my friend a year less. about the same time I had breast cancer and my friend had it about 2 months sooner.Both of ours tested as being hormone produced,or fed by hormones.i had to have radiation,my friend did not,we both had a lumpectomy.And after we both stopped the hormones on the advice of our different Obgyns,we experienced extreme bleeding,for months to the point that I had to hav. I go to the SottoPelle office on Dobson in Chandler and it has saved my life!! After a hysterectomy I went into instant menopause, what fun that was let me tell you. After almost 3 years of pills, patches & creams, I really didn't think there was any hope. Nothing my health insurance covered was working, I either had to suffer the heat flashes and lack of energy, or deal with too much estrogen in my system and turn into a monster (much like I was when pregnant). Then I heard about SottoPelle. They don't just give the ladies estrogen but a natural combination of 3 hormones as we were meant to have. I went to SottoPelle based on all the great reviews. And I wish this worked for me like the reviews I've read. But unfortunately it hasn't. The staff is very nice, office is great but.... I gained a lot of weight immediately after getting the pellets. It was like getting pregnant. I gained 10 pounds within 3 weeks. It's been just crazy. I exercise, diet and the scale won't move. It's very depressing. My clothes don't fit and after a few months, things haven't changed despite exercising even more. I talked to the Doctor and was given a prescription and told to hang in there; the weight gain was temporary. But the prescription caused more problems and the weight still hasn't gone down. And despite the cost, I haven't really seen any great improvements. And again, the weight gain is such a downer. Nice people at SottoPelle but Be very careful. I am not convinced the super high dosages they administer are healthy for all.. read more

Having personally been treated by Dr. Gino Tutera for several years before he passed I have found out how blessed I have been to be HIS patient. I returned to the Center in Scottsdale for their Contour Light treatment because I believed in Dr. Tutera's practice. Assuming things would be the same was a horrible assumption. I have been successful with the Contour Light treatment from another doctor 8 years ago. So I wanted this treatment for the Covid 25 that I gained. I filled out the forms with my medical history and expectations for the treatment and that is when things went south. Here's a brief summary: *Never had a consultation for treatment *Told I should need 6 treatments to meet my goals. I purchased 9 to really be successful. *Was measured on the first visit and had lost less than total 2 ". At the end of the 9 treatments I only lost 2.75. The goal was 25 pounds and I lost 7. *Kept asking about measuring at each visit as that is what drove success. KNOWING it is working. THEY do not do this but on my 8th/9 visits was told I will be SO happily surprised. They just don't bother or they would have known that it was not working in just a few visits. *Coincidentally, on that 8th/9 visits they had me sign a form for consent to treatment which seemed very odd. I was already 89% done. Never saw it before. *When I received my numbers today I was speechless and the person that did today's treatment (not my regular person) told me that "there were no guarantees" which oddly enough is what the paper said on my 8th visit. There certainly was a surprise, a horrible one. $1000.00, 9 visits, 27 hours of time including driving, and I could have lost more inches doing 5 sit ups a day. (exaggeration but barely) I was treated as an inconvenience. You are supposed to get water immediately after treatment as I did at my first treatment. The second time they told me they didn't have any water any longer. This medical clinic treats the multitudes and hopes for good results. They do not emulate Dr. Gino Tutera who was always on top of things. As a note, with three packages 8 years ago, I lost 50 inches and 50 pounds with Dr. Jeffrey Woolston, at Woolston Wellness Center, just down the street. I was confident that the process would work, I ate a very healthy and limited diet throughout this Sotto Pelle Contour Light treatment and apparently got nowhere for a lot of time, tears, and money. The aid or tech that was with me today treated me as "too bad, so sad". Humorously, I did NOT receive their "How did we do?" survey which usually beat me home in my email. Lots of smoke and mirrors but no substance. As upset as I was, I was not contacted or even asked what was wrong as I left. They don't care about anything but the money. I couldn't help notice the patients in the waiting room all looked sad and tired, not happy to be there which was the case when Dr. G. Tutera ran the company. May he rest in peace, and may all of you run fast when you see the ads for fast and easy weight loss. They provide no updates during the process, no motivation, and certainly no empathy. I have been going to Sotopelle for a little over a year. I started with one practitioner but decided to try another as the first one was going out of town for an extended time and did not work every day of the week. I choose to see Steve Nunn and I must say I was disappointed. He does not have good bed side manner. He had not even looked over my chart and lab results. He even took a personal call for a few minutes to chat about his lunch plans for the day! Steve did not like and did not react well to any of my questions and was condescending. It turns out I started bleeding and did for months and he never really was able to either find the cause nor help with the bleeding.He did not even think of telling me to see my gynecologist for the bleeding ( which I did anyway) My gynecologist finally solved my bleeding and it turned out to be polyps. Steve never followed up with me nor did he contact my ob-gyn. As another person writes here, my last insertion was extremely painful, he did not wait for the lidocaine to work and ended up "cutting" me in an area that he did not numb up. The incision site bleed for 3 days and I had a pretty bad black and blue. My impression is they only care about bringing in the cash and have little concern for their patients and their health. While I am pleased with the results of the bio-identical hormones, I must say that Dr. Robinson was a major disappointment. Hair loss. Lower voice. These are two things I wish were emphasized as risks of the testosterone in the pellet. The staff is 5 star. I have friends who are sold on the pellet. The reason I am not is my voice is permanently lowered, and I've had major HAIR LOSS ! I had thick hair before and in bathroom light you can see the scalp at the crown of my head; not just the front. In terms of the other benefits, they were slim for me. When I called a hair restoration doctor in Scottsdale I was told they had many women on the pellet seek their help. They go off the pellet because of hair loss. The longer you have been on the pellet, the more severe and difficult it is to restore the hair I was told. Sadly, the only time the doctor mentioned 'hair loss' was 1.5 years into using it. I did say I had hair loss, but went ahead with the same pellet. This phase of the pellet skyrocketed the hair loss. In my experience, the side effects are not worth any benefits I may have had. read more

I had pellets implanted at the Paradise Valley office on Scottsdale Rd by Stephen Nunn...btw he no longer looks like his photo because he's aged way beyond that photo and probably should be retired. I had to sit in front of him for about 20 minutes while he reviewed my labs. He determined that nothing needed to be changed in my pellets from my previous formula, but when I asked him what my progesterone number showed in comparison to the previous lab work he said he didn't have a result for the progesterone on his lab work and they simply prescribe a strength based on how I feel. I normally get my insertion from my doctor in Santa Fe, but I am in Scottsdale for the month and she sent my record here on my request. Because I have had pellets before I was shocked at how poorly this Practioner was in comparison. It took 3 numbings and each time he would ask if it hurt when he cut and each time it did! Normally, a small prick would be felt when numbed, but that's it! Today, I am suppose to take off the top bandage and in 3 days take off the underneath bandage, but as I begin to take off the top bandage there doesn't appear to be another one there for protection! I would never go back to this office again given the lack of preparedness, professionalism and, the final injury was what they charged. This Place is so overpriced. There is a ton of places that do the same exact thing in Arizona for half the price. This company has no value for their employees and will turn on them in a heart beat. I see a huge turnover and have even been told how bad Julie the Practice Manager is and what tight wads The Tutera's truly are. DO NOT give this company business, greedy people are not worthy of other peoples attention. This place also does not keep up on OSHA standards and HIPPA compliance. I was never supposed to receive any Estrogen because of my family history of breast cancer. I asked that to be put in my file. I only was getting Testosterone. The last time I was there I was given Estrogen instead of Testosterone. The doctor called later that day to tell me of the mistake. He said I could come in to receive the Testosterone that I had not been given. A different male PA gave me the Testosterone. I was furious about the mistake of getting Estrogen. He said my next treatment would be free of charge. Then Dr. Tutera called me to try to convince me that the Estrogen would not cause me to get breast cancer because it was not "real estrogen".
