Excellent spot for a quick, casual meal in Minneapolis. Great vegetarian / vegan options, including yummy vegan greens and even vegan fried chicken. You can sub vegan options in almost all of their bowls and combos, and the service us friendly and kind. My one small complaint was that I had to wait quite a bit longer for my vegan option than my friend did for her food, which meant that she was almost done eating by the time I got my food. I didn't mind that much--it was a hot day, and I was enjoying the a/c--but it definitely wasn't ideal. Easy location to get to and ample parking space. I loved the old Richfield location, but this one is clean, spacious and had a good vibe. The fried chicken had a nice crisp, but also good chew on the skin. The meat was juicy! You need to enjoy it with a side as it is on the saltier side with their breading. Man, the tender were large. The box could barely shut. Excellent breading that was that had the perfect balance of crisp and tender. Those fries perfect with their wet jerk sauce. Now the reason I first fell in love with Soul Bowl. Their Blueberry Lavender Lemonade. Blueberry puree with lavender syrup. I always gotta load up on these! I used to go here when it was at Graze and this is my first time eating at their new location. Pretty easy to find street parking. Didnt make reservations, just walked in and ordered. Plenty of room to seat yourself and eat. There was multiple people there and waiting for food and I know the chicken was made fresh, but it did take a bit of time to come out. Food was delicious as always and they have a station with in house sauces that are amazing. Will definitely be returning. read more

I was excited to finally try Soul Bowl. The Southern Hospitality bowl was okay for being soul food- "reimagined". The chicken was boneless, but seasoned well and the peach cobbler threw me off entirely. The greens and sweet potatoes and were disappointing, but Mac and cheese was very good. This is quite possibly the best meal I've had in years. Not quite sure how yelp directed me here, but I am so glad it did. I'm only in Minneapolis for one night. I had dinner here. Salmon, rice, corn, mac & cheese. All of it was exceptional. Highly recommend adding some barbecue sauce to the salmon. It makes it phenomenal. The salmon has this kind of perfect dry almost smoked texture and taste. Incredibly delicious. Knowing that I'll probably never eat here again since it's my first time ever in this area, I came here again for lunch. Got nearly the same meal, but swapped the corn for green beans. Once again exceptionally good. On top of that they have Jamaican ginger beer, which is absolutely delicious. I kind of think I need to figure out more ways to get from New Mexico (where I live) to Minneapolis just so I can go to Soul Bowl again. If I can fit in another meal between now and having to go to the airport in two hours, I 100% would do it. Sadly, I don't think my stomach can fit any more of this delicious food. read more

When I come to the cities, I come specifically for African diasporic food. This place was highly rated so I came to give it a try. The cashier/waiter was a sweetheart. The restaurant dripped in black art. Tables were cleaned when the cashier was finished taking orders. It was a vibe. I really loved that were playing Martin on their tv screen. My daughter had never seen the show but that exposure made her want me to play it. Overall a great experience. Just want the chef to be a little lighter handed with the salt on the chicken. read more

When I walked in I was greeted kindly . The place was nice and clean . The music was a vibe and they had Save The Last Dance playing . Classic movie . The food and the service was a lot better when they were located downtown by the twins stadium but the service in the V6 location was horrible. There was a young lady working the counter who was very rude and nonchalant about our order, especially when they got it wrong. Even the food was a little different. The ambience, although it looked good, didn't feel good after leaving church and being treated so disrespectfully by the young lady who accused us of stealing, a simple we didn't pay for a lemonade and on our receipt we showed her that we did. Would not frequent this establishment again or recommended it to my family and friends. read more

Unfortunate experience. I was visiting from out of town and was excited to try this place. I ordered jerk salmon pasta to go but it wasn't until I arrived at the airport to try it that I noticed it was chicken and not salmon. I checked my receipt to make sure and I was charged for salmon but that is not what I received. Disappointing. read more

Did a catering order for a small work event. Even though there's currently no delivery, it could not have been easier to pick-up. I was nervous about finding parking in the Mill District, but there was a lot, which made things much easier. Food was ready promptly when I arrived, and they helped me load the car. We came here after finding out it was the same owners as Klassic Kitchen which is 20 out of 5 stars by the way. Soul Bowl - We tried a ton of things; most were great some I'd tweak but lots of potential. Juices were GREAT!!!!! I would've love the register person to have more assertiveness or juge. For example based on the ig post we thought the waffles came with bone in chicken to which she advised it's chicken tenders sliced up but then we saw her bring a whole dish of bone in chicken to another table which meant it was on the menu but just didn't come with waffles. I would've loved to hear "you could order them on the side but they don't typically come with waffles" to which I would've said YESSSSSS!!! lol but overall great experience would recommend and would return and very proud of what their doing read more

Amazing gem! Ordered via Foodsby today at work and SO happy that I did. I had the Caribe Bowl. The sweet pineapple and grilled plantains partnered perfectly with the tender jerk chicken and flavorful rice. Had a nice little kick! Can't wait to try more! read more

Baaabbyyyy, listen... This place is next level. They were getting closer to closing time when my dasher was picking up my order but they made sure to make my chicken fresh! The Mac & cheese is Mac & cheese-ing! Now to the best part; the absolute highlight of my meal... the sweet potato pie. 10 out of 10!
