I come here occasionally and have never left dissatisfied. The food is all very fresh and flavorful! The eggs benny is really good! They used shaved ham instead of a ham patty which is full of flavor! Service is quick although they are always generally busy! I've been here on a date, with family and with friends. The patio is always very full on nice days so head here early for some brunch drinks/food!

Went on a Sunday night and wasn't super busy for a table for 5. Nice seating area, especially outside when it's nice! Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich: more curry-forward spiced instead of Nashville Baja Bowl: good flavors but ratio of toppings to rice wasn't great Truffle Burger: "One of the best burgers I've ever had" - my dad Blackened Fish Tacos: Tacos were fantastic, wasn't a huge fan of the rice and beans Turkey Burger: Excellent patty but the toppings could've been better

I don't venture out often for breakfast because I have my regular spots but Longfellow grill pleasantly surprised me! You can definitely tell it's scratch cooked food and what a great breakfast experience. The coffee was incredible and I loved the big mugs. I had a taste for something warm and savory so I decided to try their chicken wild rice soup with bacon and it was SO GOOD! Creamy, decadent, and fulfilling. Perfect way to start the early afternoon. The pumpkin pancakes were yummy but a bit too dense and fluffy for me. I prefer a crispy thin pancake. The hash browns with onions and peppers was by far my favorite! Huge portion, everything was seasoned well, and our coffee kept us warm and cozy. Our server was so sweet and attentive. And the restaurant just feels like such a warm and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend!

Foods are consistently good. A bit pricey. But have good happy hours. Daily 2-6pm even weekend. There's a martini. Which is a mashed potato as dips for potato chips. Sounds weird but actually pretty good. All those carbs. How can it not

Beautiful day to sit on the patio! Beers & a spritz + brunch / appetizers. Service was great! Food was beautiful & delicious.

Had met some family members here for a late breakfast and was surprised with how delcious everything was! Our waitress was attentive, very friendly and awnsered all of our questions before ordering. The Hot Honey hash is a must try along with their French toast! I am weird about sausages and theirs were so delicious!

Place is a go to! Lobster Bisque is some of the best in the twin cities. Service is always great and super clean inside the restaurant

The food and the ambiance are top notch. Every dish I've gotten has been delicious. This includes the breakfast burrito, salmon scramble, chicken and French toast, Oatmeal, and breakfast gnocchi. The service is friendly and efficient. It's a bonus that they're open on Mondays and have a parking lot behind the building. The mugs are great too.

Great breakfast/brunch spot! Our server was kind and everyone's food was amazing, highly recommend this place as an alternative to a diner which has all the classic American breakfast items and more!

Great place for elevated comfort food. My friend and I had great service and food on a weekday evening. Walleye shrimp slider - 5/5. The slaw and capers on the slider were a great complement to the walleye shrimp cake. Brussels sprouts - 2/5. Had obviously been boiled first then deep fried later. The insides were bland and watery and most of the outlet leaves came off. Flavor was dine but couldn't overcome the squishy texture and lack of flavor of the center of the sprouts. Steak and pierogies - 4.5/5. Steak was tender and pierogis were perfectly crisp on the outside. The Asian-ish sauce on the steak didn't work for the dish, but great otherwise. Grilled salmon - 5/5. salmon was moist, mashed potatoes had great flavor, and asparagus was beautiful Carrot cake - 4.5/5. Great flavor and moist cake. I just wanted more texture from more coarsely grated carrots or nuts, or even pineapple or coconut. We had amazing service from Haley - she made great recommendations, checked in on us many times and anticipated our needs - refills, extra plates, to-go containers, etc)

    Walleye special.

It was a beautiful fall evening and after a 4 mile hike along the Mississippi we were famished. The patio had heater for this cool brisk evening. The wallleye was crisp and seasoned perfectly. The spaghetti and meatball had the biggest meatball I've ever seen. I was a little perplexed as to why apples were mixed into the veggies that came with the walleye. Stunning views and a busy patio were a big draw. Service was great. Parking can get a bit tricky on busy days.

Came here for a date night, I got the Broiled Miso Salmon and one glass of wine and my partner got the Steak Frites and a coke. Our bill was $95! Ouch. The bad: If it were really really good I would be willing to pay for it, but I felt that the flavors in my dish, in salmon, carrot ginger sauce, and cauliflower, were whispering at best. I think the cauliflower could have used a sauce or been crispier, it just seemed boring and soggy. The steak and fries also came out cold :( my partner really knows his steaks and was not impressed, it was over cooked for medium rare and it had clearly been sitting too long. Not worth the $38! The good: The space itself is decorated really well, it's pretty dark but the theme comes together really nicely. I personally enjoyed the indie/pop music they had playing and it wasn't too loud. I really enjoyed the Chardonnay ($16) and they had a decent selection of wine but only a handful were by the glass. You can get glasses of by the bottle wines if you commit to getting at least two glasses though which is good to know. For me, the service really saved this review, our server was so nice and friendly, attentive but not overbearing. I would maybe grab a drink and an appetizer here sometime but will definitely hold out on dinner again until their prices chill or the food gets better. ‍ TLDR: Too expensive for the food quality

I've yet to try a bad menu item, meet a cranky staff person or sit in a bad spot in the restaurant. Whether you're inside or outside on the patio (summer or winter), you're bound to find the best seat in the house. The staff is incredible, from the front host's that seat you quickly, often asking how your day is going, to the servers who are quick to remember a familiar face. They are kind about offering suggestions, quick to help each other out, and they genuinely know and appreciate the menu. Now for the food. Since I am a diehard burger gal, I immediately went for the All Tapped Up Burger. It is a very unique twist on a BBQ bacon cheeseburger, as the bourbon bacon jam is a sticky, smoky delight that that perfectly compliments the salty creaminess of the cheddar, the juiciness of the burger, and the crispness of the iceberg. The truffle aioli is a lovely touch that perfectly rounds out this wonderful masterpiece, served on a warm, tender brioche bun. I love this burger so much, it was all I ordered my first five visits there. When I finally ventured off, I started simply by asking different staff members what their favorites menu items were. Here's my journey so far: Chips & Queso- This is amazing, and not nearly as simple as it sounds. At home for most people, that's a bag of Tostito's and a loaf of Velveeta. At Groveland Tap, the gorgeous Tajin tortilla chips are served with a spicy cheese sauce that is LOADED with chorizo sausage. It comes with pico de gallo, guac, and salsa macha. Enough for two people, easily! Pierogies- These are as delicious as pierogies get. They are soft, delicate, and stuffed with potato-cheddar. They serve it with a horseradish cream that is supposed to be delectable, but next time I might see if they have a small cup of sauerkraut back in the kitchen. Blue Plate Wings- I tried the bone-in wings with the lemon-garlic parmesan, and they were crispy, yet tender, and the sauce was magnificent. If you love wings, you will not be disappointed. Nashville (MN Hot) Chicken Handheld- Fried chicken breast on a brioche bun. You can have it with or without the Nashville sauce (I highly recommend getting it on the side) and features sweety drop peppers, tomato, lettuce, dill pickles and scallion aioli. The combination here of the hot, crispy, crunchy, soft, creamy, sweet, sour, is out of this world. The scallion aioli is one I started ordering as a side for dipping chips into on future visits. Incredible! Pulled Pork Stacker- They smoke their own meat in-house, so right off the bat, I was looking forward to this one. Brioche bun topped with smoked pork, aged cheddar, BBQ sauce, dill pickles, and cole slaw. You'll need a ton of napkins and it's so worth it!! Juicy, smoky and perfect. Mozzarella Melt- Now this one... it's currently listed as the first item on the Appetizers Menu, and my eyes passed over it 100 times. Without actually READING what it was, I guess I made assumptions. Then I read what it was. It's cheese bread, of sorts. It's garlic ciabatta topped with aged mozzarella and basil pesto... all which sounded good. It also comes with marinara, which initially didn't call out to me, as I get a little picky about Italian food. And I love Groveland Tap so much, I didn't want to have a bad marinara ruin a really good relationship. Throwing caution to the wind, I ordered it, and oh my goodness. The ciabatta was ooey, gooey crispy, the pesto was cool and delicious, and the marinara? I wanted to pick up the plate and lick it clean. It was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and just spicy enough to complement the toasty bread. It's my new favorite! Midwest Mac & Cheese- A special shout out to both John (who recommended this) and Hannah (who recommended we added bacon to it) I can honestly say I have never considered ordering macaroni and cheese at a restaurant. I'll leave that there. But after a manager said it was a favorite of his, I had to take a look. Also, because he and I are both Polish and this Mac & Cheese dish comes topped with grilled kielbasa, how bad could it be, right? IT WAS HEAVEN! The cheese sauce is made in house, and gently covers the most perfect al dente rigatone. It's served with steamed broccoli and a slice of garlic bread. Delicious. New York Cheesecake- Delicious, creamy... as good as it gets. served with strawberry sauce They have a wonderful selection of IPA beer, my faves being the Steel Toe Size 7, and the No. 8 IPA. I wish they'd carry a low carb IPA, but that's like ordering 5,000 calories of food and wanting a Diet Pepsi. Side notes: Try all the aiolis! They are fabulous and so good to dunk anything and everything in. The house made pub chips are good, but the upgrades, whether they be fries, onion rings, sweet potato fries, are worth the $ and calories. So good! One of these days I MIGHT try a salad.

We walked in for a pretty late dinner, slightly past 8PM and this place was still crowded. Ten minute wait for a table, the concierge said, but there were free seats at the bar either downstairs or up. We decided to walk down to the bowling alley (a fully functioning, retro alley might I add), and order at the bar. Nook Curds ($13.75) - It's a big basket of battered and fried cheese curds. There's bacon mixed in the batter, giving that smoky and salty, meaty element, and then drizzled honey for some very complementary sweetness. The batter is lightly crisp and the cheese curds inside are completely softened, to the point of being gooey and stretchy. Definitely no squeak here, but these were so delicious that I didn't particularly care. (5/5) Juicy Nookie Burger ($15.95) - Now that's a burger. Huge patty, completely filled with a large pocket of hot, melty, gooey, stretchy American cheese that gushes out while biting through the patty. It's decadent and rich, and that patty - charred so well, giving a robustly smoky charred flavor along with a strong natural beefiness, a result of the patty only being cooked until medium pink. Somehow even with so much cheese stuffed inside, it doesn't leak out at all. It's a pretty simple burger, with just that patty, three pickle rounds on the side, and a bun. The bun is buttered and barely toasted, just enough to give a hint of toastiness and hold up to the massive patty. It cradles the beef like a baby and sucks up all the patty juices and cheese. The burger comes with fresh homemade fries, fried heavily until dark brown, making them similar in both look and taste to my secret craving for Better Made Rainbow Chips, which has a heavily caramelized almost slightly burnt flavor. And yet somehow they aren't over fried in terms of texture. The outside isn't super crisp like commercial battered fries, instead the clear homemade nature leaves some softer areas interspersed with the crunch. The insides, of course, are still perfectly fluffy, and there are little crumbs spread out all along the bottom for an extra crunch. These fries are the height of deliciousness. (5/5) Yes, I've been missing this kind of fatty, unctuous, filling, greasy, rich food after moving away from the Midwest to Seattle. You simply can't get this kind of food anywhere in the PNW. What a great start to our week long trip! Unfortunately, the new direction feels much more canned and unoriginal--more like a Irish version of Applebee's or Outback Steakhouse than the unique place it used to be. There are simply too many great places to choose from to settle for something mundane and uninspired.
