(Note: The furniture bar cabinets and library were added later on and were not part of this contractor's project). From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!

I was first referred to Preferred Builders by my tax preparer, Happily, my first repair/remodel turned out wonderfully so I immediately started a remodel on my own home. Scope of work: remove all the carpeting in the house and install laminate plank flooring in those areas. The travertine flooring in the entry, kitchen and hallway had large craters which collected dirt and water residue after washing. I had the floor steamed, the craters filled and the whole floor resealed. I had a gasline installed in the kitchen and a new gas oven installed. I also had a complete bathroom remodel which included removing a huge jacuzzi tub and installing an elegant and safe walk in shower. For the bathroom Nir listened to my concerns and needs and then gave me two 3-D renderings of my options. Elba was fabulous and fast with permits, a purchase list and provided weekly job schedules and updates. I have now completed this remodel and I can't be happier. My Preferred Builders team was pure gold! I highly recommend Nir, Elba and Orel, the Foreman. Orel was caring and his experience was invaluable, Roman, (drywall, moldings, paint, flooring) Carlo (beautiful tile work) and Abnir were all professional, caring and kind. My remodel was reasonable and fast. I definitely recommend Preferred and I already have.

We felt their quote was fair, and they went above and beyond to make sure the job was done right and will last. Cavalier's team discovered, and fixed, a number of things that were done incorrectly by flippers we bought the house from in the process. Sharon was a good communicator, and Federico did a great job with attention to detail on the repairs and painting. They did a great job, we are planning to explore a garage ADU in the future and would feel confident hiring Cavalier again for that larger project.

Found Cavalier Builders through Yelp and they came to the rescue! The entire team is amazing and while big home projects are often stressful, Sharon and his team made it a positive experience. The biggest thing for me was that they were able to complete the work (including clean-up) within the timeframe we agreed on. When we consulted Sharon with our project, he had a "can do" mindset and really listened to what I wanted while also giving solid advice. I've had bad luck with contractors before and been gaslit at times, but Sharon's approach of having an actual conversation and putting the customer first made us go with his team. While most remodels require you to acquire materials on your own, Sharon connected us with Tile and Shower door folks (and they also had nothing but good things to say about him). I appreciate how he'd always check in to make sure we have all the items ready (i.e. vanity, toilet, etc.), and he'd always drop in to check on the progress. Eddie and his team were absolute professionals and do everything with care and precision. Really liked how he'd always double-check things with us down to the smallest detail (e.g. paint colors, door hinges, etc.). Pricing, I'd say they're within average of the estimates we received. Totally worth it and highly recommend them. Next time I have another big project, I'm definitely reaching out to them.

The previous contractors that I contacted were a bit cheaper but what impressed me the most and why I ended up going with simple choice was the amount of knowledge and customer service that they provide. They asked all the right questions. They had plenty of examples for all the finished material and they really listened to my needs. I had a tile floor which was hideous and the whole kitchen was very outdated and kind of depressing. They helped me to think of a new layout that would complement the space and would fit my needs. The new floor that I got was for the whole house and it looks amazing. The paint was done quickly with no major mess around the house. I want to point out Guy and Peter that did everything in their power so this will be done quickly at the highest level. If you're looking for someone that is professional and that will actually listen to you and answer your needs, I would recommend giving them a chance. I have attached photos of my kitchen before and after so you can see for yourself.

The team came prepared with thoughtful design ideas that made the space look bigger, brighter, and much more modern. Every detail feels intentional and well-executed. What impressed us most was how smooth the entire renovation went. No unexpected delays, no last-minute surprises, just solid, professional work. The final result feels like a spa retreat, and the quality speaks for itself.

Summary = DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! We worked with Alon during the pandemic on a home remodel…read moreof our kitchen, 2 baths, plumbing and electrical improvements, and paint. Alon was friendly and nice and the work was eventually completed after a roller coaster of a process that took 6 months. I had been sitting on this review after living with the remodel for over a year. I finally decided to post this review due to some recent upsetting discoveries. I hire a general contractor to manage coordination with sub contractors and to check on their quality. There were issues with both management and quality! Minor consolidation was that they at least finished. On the management side, they subcontracted the structural work, plumbing, and electrical. Something happened with the plumbing/structural contractor part way through and was replaced and we were warned not to engage with them if they come to me for payment (strange). Then they fired a sub contractor to the electrical sub contractor (who damaged a lot of the new electrical wires). They had a payment dispute with the electrical subcontractor, who later tried to put a lein on my home. To their credit, they did take care of it. Quality and attention to detail was not great. After dry wall and paint, I found lots of little divots in the wall because of poor patch work. Paint kept on peeling off the repainted doors and required several repairs. After several rounds of getting them to come back to fix things, we got gave up. A part was not installed correctly on our new pocket doors; instead of taking off the trim and installing things correctly, they installed an ugly fix on top of the trim. I was looking around the attic recently and was shocked to find hidden issues. Many of the electric wires that they fixed with twisted wires and electrical tape not enclosed in boxes. Some electrical boxes were not attached. Some nuturals were twisted together without a wire nut and it got loose at some point causing open nuturals and broken outlets. None of my my bathroom vents were connected even though I explicitly asked before it they can double check. The vent duct work was laying next to the fan. One of the fan duct flaps still had the factory stickers to remind the installer to remove before installing the duct! I will not trust them ever again.

We remodeled two bathrooms, three bedrooms, and a stairway. Alon helped us with all the decision making including choice of flooring, cabinets, wall tiles, and perhaps most importantly colors. Alon became a valuable consultant and a person we could really upon to be at our home on a regular basis and when we needed him. All of the people who worked on our project were professional, courteous, and dedicated to making our dreams come true. For example the remodel of our stairway was in the hands of a true artist who would not end his days at our home until every detail was completed to both his and our satisfactions. With out any hesitation I highly recommend Alon and Pride Construction and Remodeling. We are already planning our next project!

Later, "Jacob" called me back later and expressed condescending concern that I had ONLY a $150K budget. I told him that's where the budget starts, not ends and asked him what the true cost was. He responded back that it's between $300 and $450 a square foot. So I told him, "Okay, if my calculations are correct, if I go with $350 a square foot so I'm not at the rock bottom, and I multiply that by 600 sq ft for a small ADU, that is roughly $210K for a price starting point with your company?" "Well no it's not exactly... "Then what did I miss?" "Well there's all sorts of other things blah blah blah..." Overall the tone was condescending and he made it clear that I didn't know what I was talking about, when in fact I have 15 years experience as a home designer that designs and budgets facelifts on houses that are about to go up for sale. I have dealt with contractors for many, many years. Eventually I got fed up with his tone and told him to cancel the appointment. As my grandma always said, you'll catch more flies with honey than hot sauce!
