It's my birthday weekend woot! #ScorpioSeason lol. Since I'm so into working,my friends thought they would surprise me with a ride for my birthday! I know no typical birthday brunch but this year, but this was better.Burning calories with your friends literally everything I love. The check in process was easy. If you don't have your own cycling shoes I believe it is $2 to rent if you are not a first time rider. Next you pick a bike and instructors are near by to assist with the bike setup. We went during Dante's last ride and it was the best of hip hop. The music was phenomenal which is very important for any workout I think. His class was def intense I burned 600 calories and I took ALOT of breaks and we were all sweating bullets. Def a birthday for the books! Thank you Soul Cycle for a great sweat!

A long time coming but I had a friend who RAVED about an instructor for two months straight so my SF self finally found my way back to Dallas ready to be blown away, and you know what...I WAS BLOWN AWAY. Petition to bring Valentina to SF P L E A S E. Her energy is everything especially on a Thursday morning at 6:30am. She has a way of making her class feel included and empowered. For the first time Soul Cycle didn't feel like a workout it felt like a party where you come out energized never wanting it to end. Not that Valentina didn't push us, because she definitely did, but she made the class so much fun and just an overall good time. Thank you Viv for setting the standard of what an amazing time at Soul Cycle looks like.

Let me preface by saying I do not like cardio. I've never enjoyed it and was very skeptical I would ever be a "cycle person". Soul cycle has changed that all for me. Their staff is so nice and cheerful, especially the manager Marybeth. They make me feel like I'm apart of a community and keep me coming back for more. Please take my word, you won't regret it!

Bright lights, fancy bikes, flashy tights, pumpin music. SoulCycle, you're pretty cool. My review is a tad bit delayed but I had the honor of attending a pre-opening ride at SoulCycle. I've heard many great things, by great, I've heard worship stories of SoulCycle so alas, I was quite curious what this ride would entail. The ride is somewhat similar to other ride studios in Dallas, mainly Zyn22, somewhat the Ride House. It is a 45 minute group ride with the lights drawn low and EDM music blaring. You ride to the rhythm of the beat and ride as a collective group, working off of the energy of each other, but if that doesn't work, the instructor will spout all sorts of positive and encouraging phrases to keep you moving. A few things to note that I particularly didn't like about my ride. 1. The water bottle holder on the bike is in the worst spot (mimicking a real bike) and is super tight and narrow. Recommendation is NOT to bring a fancy water bottle, a small plastic one may be your best bet. 2. The bikes are not stadium-platformed (difficult to see if you're not in the front) and are reallly really close together. Literally, your face may be in someone's butt while they are out of the saddle. I understand the need for space conservation in NYC, but hey, a little extra space is ok in Dallas. 3. A little A/C wouldn't hurt also Great boutique studio that does a great job of making you feel ultra cool and posh, but would be great if the prices would come down a little bit.

I always have a great time at SoulCycle! It doesn't matter which instructor you have they are all so good and I leave drenched in sweat! If you want a particular time and bike number make sure to book as soon as they open up on Monday at noon! The classes fill up fast!

Compared to other locations, this one has a fairly large locker area which is helpful during class changes. As one class exists the cycle room and the next class is waiting to enter, the locker area can get very congested. Thankfully this one is large enough that it allows the waiting cyclists to move to the out of the way so those who just finished can grab their gear from lockers, towel off, etc. In case you're wondering there is a small wait in between classes as the staff needs this time to clean the cycle room, bikes along with replenishing each bike with fresh towels. The cycling room is theater style with 40 bikes waiting to be challenged. There are a couple of TV monitors which are used throughout some classes to allow each participant to see how they're doing in comparison to each other (there's nothing like a little competition). Just before class starts, the door to the room is closed and the music (and fun) starts. Once class starts the trainer does a superb job of encouraging everyone to dig a little deeper and get out of their respective comfort zone. At the same time, they remind everyone to respect any injuries, etc and to modify as required. From the owners to the instructors to the support staff, all are very inviting, helpful and encouraging. They are always available prior to the start of class assisting those that need help with the check-in process, shoes, bike adjustments, etc. As for parking, there is plenty of it available in the shared lot. CycleBar has both memberships which renew monthly or package of classes can be purchased. If you're looking to energize your exercise routine (or start one), I highly recommend checking out this CycleBar. All you need to do is show up. They provide shoes, towels, water bottle and water. Be prepared to work hard and have fun doing it.

Now I really get to check this place out even though I already love it here. When you sign up you can take classes at this location or their SMU location (above Barley House). They offer classes from kickboxing, barre type classes, cardio, weight training and even have a spin studio. The classes I have taken each have pumpin' music and you do the exercises to the beat of the music and are led by an instructor. Each instructor I have had, have been fun, and energetic. The classes are big so you watch and listen to the instructor to see what to do at each move. I love classes where you're on your own but have the community vibe too. Not that I don't like working out with men but there's something nice about an all female gym where you feel a little bit more at ease. I have seen one or two guys in here so it looks like they can take a class? I am fully digging this place and liking the scheduled, and all the different work outs to choose from. Parking feels a little challenging being off Irving Blvd but I have never had an issue. You check in at the front desk and go to your workout room. The instructor/coach will give you further instructions. When leaving make sure you put up any equipment and wipe down your mat with the cleaners and paper towels provided. The GRIT app is so easy to use and you see the full schedule of classes at both studios. There are descriptions of the classes and will let you know if sneakers, grip socks or being barefoot is required.

The other reason I joined was the location is just five minutes from my Dallas house. Max and Lewis talked me into giving Recovery a try for a couple months. I am very glad I took their advice. I am still regularly using Recovery. After one year I can make the following review: First, the Dallas facility is maintained better than any other fitness center I have ever gone to. It is always very clean, and the machines almost always are in excellent condition. The locker rooms and sauna are spotless. Second, the personal are very friendly. The personal trainers are experienced, educated and dedicated. Third, the staff working Recovery are very nice and competent. Ishani has pushed me to increase my Cryo time and use a colder setting. I am not crazy about the Cryo Chamber, but after I warm up, I feel fantastic. I really appreciate Ishani pushing me. Finally, Club Studio recently hired Janie to be the supervisor and in charge of Recovery. She worked at Club Studio in San Antonio and is very experienced. I recently injured my hamstring, and she worked with me on the settings of the Red Light Therapy. I double checked her advice with AI and both were very consistent. Most important is the Red Light Therapy has helped. Congratulations to Club Studio management on the hiring of Janie. GREAT HIRE. Charles F.
