This little bar and grill sits in the middle of the golf course. Ojai is lovely overall but the setting here is particularly nice. Sort of like a big lodge with trees all around. We started with bloody marys which were pretty good. Then ordered late breakfast. Everything was fine, kinda hard to mess up breakfast. However, the eggs were very strange. I had scrambled and they were a weird texture. Almost gritty. Not sure what was going on there. But the potatoes were good. Service was good, the bartender was nice. (We sat at the bar.) So glad I found Zaidee's on Yelp instead of just cruising the main drag through Ojai. It's beautifully surrounded by golf course so we enjoyed great views in all directions. My wife said the pancakes were the best she's had. At first I thought my huevos rancheros was a little smaller than I'm used to but that's only because I didn't take its height into account. I was barely able to eat the whole thing and I was satisfied for much the rest of the day! I don't know what weekends are like here but for Monday breakfast well more than half the tables were empty so we had many tables to choose from, and the servers were all very pleasant. The attitude of the staff is very unprofessional. ordered a sandwich and a salad, plus 2 beers and an ice tea. For this order not to be delivered within 30 minutes, is totally unacceptable. Finally after, 60 minutes and 4th trip to the bar window and not accepting the shiity response of "what can you do, it's the holiday weekend" from the wait staff, Adrian, the manager had to put the order together. I've worked in the hospitality industry for many years, and it's management responsibility to staff appropriately and to train the staff on how customers need to be treated. mediocre staff or management should not be in contact with customers. BTW, at the time of ordering, I paid for the order and tipped 25%. The level of service and the attitude of the staff was not deserving of my generosity. shame on owners and management for not staffing and training appropriately. shame on wait staff for having an unprofessional attitude and deamer. read more

Will NEVER eat here or come here again. Staff, groundskeepers AND patrons not wearing masks. And I mean everyone. No enforcement of safety at all. Wanted to enjoy my delicious food but couldn't when I saw that employee Adrian couldn't even wear his mask right. This is my favorite course in the area. It is well maintained, I like the GPS in the cart and it's usually not too busy, so you rarely wait too long before the group ahead of you. The beer cart girl makes her way around the course and all of them are very friendly. The restaurant is pretty good and we usually have breakfast here before our tee time. The staff is very friendly and attentive. My favorites are the breakfast burritos and the eggs benedict. They have a full bar right next door with huge TVs, so you can watch all your sports after 18-holes. I recommend this course to anyone in the area. read more

I kind of thought this would be a fancier place, based on the description on their website and the fact that it's on a nice golf course. You really should believe them when they say they are a "bar & grill" because that's what they are. The place was pretty empty. The people that were there were semi-drunk guys on a break from their golfing outing. Thankfully, they have some outdoor seating. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed a great view of the mountains. That really made the experience enjoyable. A seat inside would have been on par with a Denny's trip. The food is just ok. Nothing spectacular. They have all the typical breakfast/brunch stuff. I got an omelet and it was fine. Nothing special. Their hash browns taste like they were in a freezer until you placed your order. I probably wouldn't come back here, unless I was playing golf. So, I probably won't come back here, period. There are better breakfast spots in town, like Ojai Cafe Emporium. Go there. read more

This place is great. Breakfast, lunch or dinner!! For breakfast I ordered the tortilla scramble and it was delicious. Tortilla chips, bacon, jalapeño, onion, tomato all scrambled in with eggs and home made hash browns for lunch I ordered a chicken sandwich on a ciabatta roll. The roll was so fresh and tasty. For dinner holy moly amazing. The New York strip was great. Probably the only place to get a steak in Ojai. I have it 4 stars due to the morning and afternoon servers need a little work. Great food and awesome staff! Lynette was our bartender/server and was so friendly and accommodating even though we ordered 10 mins before closing. The ribeye was so tender and the ribs were tasty! Big portion of fresh sautéed veggies on both plates too. Keith, the owner, even stopped by and chatted with us and asked about our day there. Things need to change. We had not gone in a while, heard it had reopened, new management. Tables needed to have something done to them. Vinyl needed to be scrubbed, horribly filthy. So we thought we would try it again this last weekend. Mistake. Tables are still horribly filthy, with the same vinyl cloths. I ordered the Tri Tip sandwich. Tasted ok, but the meat was so very tough that you could not eat it as a sandwich. Potato skins tasted like frozen left overs. They do have good Ranch dressing. Just very disappointed. read more

In Ojai on vacation and took a chance on this place based on a lot of very positive yelp reviews. Had a two for one yelp coupon on the yelp site that didn't work, because they "don't have scanners." Waitress was very friendly and provided overall good service, but did not offer to manually offer the discount,which other establishments have done in similar situations. We sat outside and the view was lovely. The food was fairly and reasonably priced but took a long time and tasted fine overall, but not especially noteworthy. The mixed greens were fresh and the chicken salad had a slight curry dressing-very tasty. My husband had the Asian chicken salad and it was also delicious. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. We were in town for one night and wanted a simple breakfast with a nice view. After finally finding the parking lot, we navigated to the actual restaurant. We requested patio dining as it was a very lovely Sunday morning, low to mid 70s with a slight breeze, and there was absolutely nobody out on the deck. We chose a table right on the bannister right up front against the golf course. The view was stupendous, with almost 180 degrees panoramic of the bright green golf course, scattered oak trees and bridges with the pond in the middle, all nestled in front of the backdrop of lush green hills. Our waiter was knowledgeable of the menu items, very attentive, and checked in with us just enough to let us know he was there while giving us plenty of privacy and time to enjoy our privately nestled paradise. Food was good. Not spectacular or great, definitely not bad, but good. It arrived promptly, it was hot, and was well prepared. My eggs Benedict was poached just to point with a savory sauce, not too thick not too thin, and we even had some potato wedges as an appetizer even though it was not yet 11:00 lunch menu time. My wife enjoyed a simple "breakfast sandwedge" which can be surprisingly easy to screw up but wasn't. I think I'll definitely return however I fear and actually anticipate disappointment as I think we got really lucky with the weather as well as privacy of the patio. I am new to the Ojai area so I have been trying out some local fare. The place was pretty dead when we got there (around 4pm) but it just made it easy to find a seat. I had to ask the bartender if we could sit anywhere or needed to wait to be sat, that annoyed me. She obviously saw me standing there! I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich because I LOVE them and always try them at new restaurants. It was by far one of the most disappointing! While I was excited to see that it was actually dipped and deep fried (not egg-battered bread like some places do), the batter was chewy and my sandwich was slightly cold.
