The brewery is super cute and cozy, with wood/black accents and a boutique shop in the corner featuring local artists. There is plenty of places to sit inside or outside or at the bar. The bartender helped me pick a beer, and it was happy hour, so I only spent $5 on my 16oz pour :) We shared the Krupuk and pickle plate. Krupuk = airy tapioca chips, melt-in-your-mouth or crispy, with two flavorful sauces. It was a pretty large bowl so great for sharing. The pickle plate was lovely, 4 types of pickled vegetables (cucumbers, red/white onions, and bell peppers) which went great with the krupuk. Great place to pass the time!

Their selection of brews are pretty extensive, so we selected a couple of samplers. I got The Tux, a nitro milk stout, and a seasonal cider (something with Harvest in the name), while my friend got the Good Good and Light Hike. Everything tasted great, though I'd probably ordered the cider again. We also ordered food from Sama Sama, a serving of their Wagyu Beef Sando and Chicken Sando. Wait time was roughly 10 minutes and was surprisingly served with a side of prawn crackers. I kept thinking that the wagyu was incredibly easy to eat and was done before I knew. Portion-wise it's a bit on the small side, but it had great flavor. All in all, a good place to past the time.

There's both beer and wine to choose from, and you can get glasses or tasting of either! You get to choose which 4 you want in your tasting. I opted for wine and my boyfriend beer. As a dark beer fan that one was his favorite, and I enjoyed all of mine but liked the Syrah best. Good vibes and I can see how this place probably gets packed in the summertime. We will be back!

Of all the days we decided to visit Ojai. Labor Day weekend and to top it off, a freakin HOT…read moreweekend. After seeing how crowded the main strip was, we wanted to get away from the crowd and have something nice and cold. We could have just done our usual at one of the tasting room's nearby but a nice cold beer was definitely needed. This place popped up on maps while trying to find something cold. It's a couple min drive from downtown or a nice walk if it wasn't that hot. Hidden on a side street, we came upon this cute little gem. Brewery itself was quite big in size. There's a small parking lot along the side as well as street parking. When we arrived it was mellow. A couple of people sitting outside. They offer a nice big patio with picnic style tables and covered umbrellas. It's also pet friendly which was perfect as we had our little pup with us. Not only beer, there's wine tasting as well. When we walked in, there was a pool table which was being utilized by one of the staff or owner. A sweet gentleman. Having a round while it was mellow. The bar area, pretty big in size with counter seating. The selections of beer and wine were nice. Also size options available. A good selection to choose from but we narrowed it down to the Mexican lager and hard lemonade. I know, completely different but it was worth the try. Both very refreshing and went down really well with the heat. Within 10 minutes or so after we sat down, it started to pick up with people coming in. Good thing we found a seat as it was getting pretty full. Not only that, there was a band setting up. Could be the reason that's what brought people in for the show. They also happened to have a food vendor on hand. Shuck Brothers, fresh oyster and seafood. Everything on the menu sounded delicious but we literally ate half an hour prior. But they had me at oyster. Half dozen of the west and east coast shucked right there for you. The gentleman working was a hoot. Very sweet and friendly and even through we just meet, it was like chit chatting with a friend. First taste, very fresh and tasty. There's also all condiments on hand to add to your oysters. It was great and would definitely order more. The band was quite nice. I'm not sure how often a band performs but they did bring a nice crowd with them this afternoon. Overall, we were glad that we found this gem. Would we be back, definitely. Pet friendly, great service, friendly vibe. What more to say.

It was a bit warm to sit outside (80°F) and the wait for outdoor was 30 min so we opt to sit inside. We still had a nice view of the golf course and the rolling hills behind the golf course. By the bar area is a huge bar bench with a huge open window. We didn't notice that spot otherwise I would have suggested it. (Next time!) The lunch prices were really great. Our total bill with tip was $50. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich that was delicious, juicy but also really messy. And my friend got the Bistro Burger. We spit out sandwich/burger in half with one another to try both. Although I liked my Buffalo chicken, I think I preferred the burger. We also both upgraded to truffle fries.

Upon arrival, the staff seemed a bit frazzled. The menu changed a few times, which made things a little confusing, but the two women helping us were very kind and did their best, they just didn't seem fully prepared for a group our size. We kept our orders simple, and surprisingly, the food came out extremely fast... before the coffee even arrived. Overall though, the food was good. I had the avocado toast, which was really tasty, and everyone in the group seemed to enjoy what they ordered. The real standout here is the setting, the golf course and surrounding grounds are absolutely beautiful and make for a really nice atmosphere. Overall, a solid spot for smaller groups or a casual outing, but larger parties might be a bit of a challenge for them.

Absolutely incredible experience at Joplins in Ojai--this place is a must-visit…read more The smoked pork belly rice bowl was outstanding--packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying. Every bite hit. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food here, and it shows. And the banana pudding... next level. Easily one of the best desserts I've had in a long time--rich, balanced, and impossible to stop eating. What really elevated the whole experience was the service. A true 10/10. A special shoutout to the owner, Brittany, who was amazing--so accommodating, friendly, and clearly passionate about what she's built. This is one of those places you leave already planning your next visit. Highly, highly recommend.

When we asked the server for a recommendation between the beef and pork ribs, she gave a vague answer about both being "bone-licking good," which wasn't helpful. The food itself was a major letdown. The portion was tiny (just three small pieces of ribs) and the meat was undercooked, greasy, and mostly fat. The cucumber salad was essentially a strange-tasting cucumber soup filled with soggy cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. Glad we only ordered one dish to share, because this definitely ruined my appetite for ribs!
