    Miso maple latte

I was curious about the maple miso latte because I usually stick to cold brew however this flavor was simply too hard to avoid! I'm glad I tried it, honestly something I didn't think I would enjoy. Lots of seating indoors to stay and study, I am looking forward to returning here and trying something else!

This is the second location of Sound Coffee in Bridgeport. It took over the spot of the former Source Coffeehouse. I walked in on a rainy day to check out their new location. It seems like they are still working on the decor of the shop. The coffee shop had several tables to dine in. I ordered a simple iced vanilla latte. The barista was welcoming. I like that they sell coffee grounds from all over the world. They also have some merchandise for sale.

My drink which had vanilla in it was pretty good. The vibes were cozy and super cute place. The service at the front was cordial and nice. It's a cute spot and the outdoors space adds a nice touch.

Matcha and lattes were a 10/10! Food was delicious - got a tuna salad sandwich and the spicy ceasar wrap. Definitely going to come back.

She was greeting everyone as they arrived. Since it was a special event they had live music and other goodies to eat. We purchased a Caramel Iced Latte which I really enjoyed. It was not overly sweet. They sell coffee from different countries for you to brew at home. They also sell merchandise. I liked that they had a community board. The coffee shop area itself is small with a two tables inside and one outside. The products we tried were great. When we left the owner Jeff thanked us for stopping by. I enjoyed the experience. I'm looking forward to roasting the coffee in the morning. I'm excited to try other varieties now that I found this gem. They have a large parking lot in the back or there is street parking in the front. Give them a try!

Who said Bridgeport can't have nothing nice? Well this spot is nice, nice enough to roast coffee, nice enough to have a spot to sit, and nice enough to be a short walking distance away from my house. So whenever I'm in town, this is where I will walk to, to find out more about what they roast, and brew. I had a great confo with my barista who told me more about the business, coffee, beans, and other stuff coffeeholics talk about. So come on down, and try their product, and invest in local businesses.

This location is where the Shearwater beans are actually roasted (in 20lb batches, which counts as "really small" in the coffee industry). When I came by, I received a friendly and enthusiastic greeting from the personnel on site, who expressed no annoyance at being diverted from their normal wholesale activities. Shearwater has good beans, and those beans are roasted with care. I came in for some ground coffee that I could use while visiting Central Connecticut and walked away with a full pound of roasted coffee in the bean, 12oz of ground coffee, and a cold brew coffee to drink on my way back. The cold brew was delicious, and I liked the ground coffee (Honduras, I think) as well. The unground coffee made its way down to Philadelphia, where it's giving great pleasure to its recipients. Although Shearwater has espresso machines and some pour-over equipment on site, only the cold brew was available to retail customers like me. That was fair enough, but still somehow disappointing. If you're around Trumbull and are looking for some excellent coffee to take home, head directly to Shearwater without passing Go. Check their hours before you do, though; note for example that they close at 2PM on Fridays.

That being said, they always have at least one coffee brewing. On this early weekday afternoon, I got a 12 ounce of the Running Rapids (usually their cold brew) for $3.19. As other Yelpers have mentioned, there's no milk or sugar, leading to a pure and complex coffee experience. After letting it cool a bit, it was very deep and flavorful. It was nice to see a bit of the operation since the space is open. There are a few shelves with coffee accessories and a few stools for perching.

They are some sort of subtenant of the owl market. While this allows them to focus exclusively on coffee, it does create a bit of a disjointed feeling between the food service and the coffee service. However, given that the owl's food is very good, it does not necessarily detract from the overall experience. The roast: it's a bit of an esoteric roast, leaning into the sour cherry type profile. While it would probably do well at an esoteric espresso competition, I personally find it to be a challenge when paired with milk. This is a problem since my primary focus is on milk-based espresso drinks. I wish they would offer a somewhat more traditional roast. My primary descriptor for their espresso is "sour". Finally, while they do have a skilled barista on staff, he is only there part-time. It is imperative, in my opinion, that a coffee shop with this type of positioning ALWAYS have a skilled barista on staff.

And the flavors offered are numerous and rich and satisfying. The back stories of the individual types of beans available (with names such as "Ponticello," "The Falls," "Mexico Oaxaca," "La Ventolera," and "Nano Chall" -- all of which I have cherished for their tastes) make for fascinating reading and history, all of which is discoverably on the company's website, quartetonecoffee.com.
