A very nice place to have a cappuccino and a dessert. The cafe is located on a busier street with meter parking. The store feels very cozy and extremely clean. Another patron accidentally spilled a bit of his order; the barista, assured him it was no problem and proceeded to clean it immediately. We ordered a cappuccino and a caramel macchiato and a slice of tiramisu. We enjoyed all of it. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to after my recent visit. The coffee was mediocre at best--not nearly worth the uncomfortable experience. While there, I saw a Black woman take a seat while waiting in the long line. Moments later, the owner approached and aggressively told her to get up, saying it was "his seat" and that she couldn't be there if she weren't ordering. The way he spoke to her was unnecessarily loud and confrontational, especially in a public space. It felt demeaning and entirely out of line. I later looked through reviews and saw that similar incidents have been mentioned before, which makes me even more uneasy. I can't say for sure if it was racially motivated, but it was unsettling to witness. Unfortunately, the coffee didn't make up for the discomfort. I won't be back--and I wouldn't recommend supporting a business where this behavior seems to be a pattern. read more

I actually loved this place. The owner served us at the counter and was super sweet and funny. He offered us all the options of pastries that he had and told us about the ones we hadn't heard of before. Such a cute little place, definitely recommend. read more

Reporting a verbal harassment for disability that just happened at a business in CT around 12 noon. Done by the man behind the counter, most likely the owner. The business is called Cafe Aroma 55 Wall Street, Norwalk, CT 06851 He yelled at us for having a small dog. I informed him, the service animal is needed for a certified medical alert, that my partner is disabled and needs her. He said okay well the dog can stay and you can go, he looked at my disabled partner and said "you're fine". I tried informing him of the laws and he stared yelling at us, to get out and refused to serve us. He would not stop yelling. This is not okay and discrimination. We are also a queer couple and it may be some hate crime as well. read more

I am not from Norwalk; but here visiting family. The food is standard cafe goods and the coffee is Lavazza. Customer service is a mixed bag. I've had alright experiences in the past, but the most recent trip was enough that I won't come back. Our family situation is complex, and what looks like a "typical child tantrum" is a little more nuanced/complicated. There are more professional and empathic ways to check in with a family of small kids then saying, "I am sorry I know he is a baby, but this is a business and there are other customers". I personally would've preferred a, "hi, I noticed the child is really upset. Is everything ok?". A little bit of understanding and courtesy goes a long way. Trust me, when he approached, we were already assessing whether or not this was a sensory meltdown we could manage. Which, we had sorted out within five minutes of sitting him down. And yes, to be fair, this is his business. But on a flipside, I am a paying customer and will take my business elsewhere and stick to places that can accommodate a wider community (that includes disabilities/disabled children). read more

I came to this coffee shop based on Yelp review, in the weekday afternoon. The coffee shop has some seats very relaxing comfortable environment. You can get coffee & sweet treats for those got sweet like me. We ordered tiramisu which taste good, it's not as sweet (i cant taste any rum tho) Cafe Mocha is highly recommend, it's not loaded with corn syrup like Starbucks. Less than $4 Cafe latte is alright (similar to the coffee i make at home with Nespresso), but less than $4. Oh it doesn't not taste bitter like Starbucks. Just using Starbucks for comparison here. Owner is super funny and friendly from greek, he said he makes his coffee with love, therefore gave me the love (drew a heart) for my cup of mocha art . definitely a go-to coffee spot if you come to Norwalk CT. read more

Was here a month ago. I had a wonderful carrot cake and cappuccino. The carrot cake was a big slice with moist cake and a great cream cheese frosting. The cappuccino was very good, not too strong. My husband had the chocolate layer cake which he enjoyed. The woman there whom I assumed was the owner was warm and friendly. I was visiting Norwalk over the weekend for a concert and I stumbled upon this adorable cafe. I wish I got the owner's name as I had great conversation with him. He was very welcoming and friendly and took time to tell me about Norwalk. I ordered an iced caramel macchiato and it was absolutely the best I've ever had. I ordered a Hibiscus iced tea for my friend and that was so delicious and refreshing as well. I would love to go back when I have time and order some of the pastries and spinach/feta pies as everything sounded and looked amazing. I couldn't recommend this place more. read more

I was visiting a friend and read all the great reviews so I decided to check it out. There were many selections for coffee and cream/ milk alternatives. Not only was his technique unique, but the visual as you see in the picture is super appealing. Taste- the moment I took a sip, it instantly reminded me of the coffee I had in Europe and was in shock. I haven't found a single place here that replicates that quality of coffee except now. "The No Covid" Cafe Aroma would be a more appropriate name for this coffee shop. It would save would be customers from entering a joint in which the people behind the counter thought less of their health and wellness. This morning, my partner and I walked in precisely at 8am. Neither the lady nor man were wearing masks but we assumed they weren't prepared for customers. While scanning the menu above, the gentleman behind the counter made no attempt to cover his face as he gazed at the two masked patrons before him. He continued sipping coffee and then insisted we move closer to him. At this point, my girlfriend exuded noticeable discomfort, politely declined to order anything. I took my cue and unabashedly "thanks, but no thanks" and off we went into the breezy autumn air. read more

Café Aroma is a cozy and quaint coffee shop in the Wall Street area of SoNo. I would definitely call it a hidden gem, as it doesn't really have a huge following or a big sign at the front door and is located in a really discreet location. The service is excellent, the WiFi is strong, seating is just right and the coffee is DELICIOUS. Oh, and it's so affordable. So affordable that this will definitely become a new regular spot for me! Yeah I'm gonna give it 5 stars. Why? The vibe and ambience. How wonderful it was to walk in for a soy latte mid day and have the place be vibrant and alive and buzzing with activity - not to mention yummy men too. But, I digress. It's in the Wall Street area, which I've always thought could be so much more and I do hope it morphs into how I envision it. The Greek owner is so warm and kind and told me soy wasn't good for me and gave me almond milk instead for my iced latte. I couldn't help but order a pastry as you could tell they were made with love and care. He shared how his wife bakes them. As for the yummy men, I'd be there every day if I were closer. It's got a great and friendly community feel with everyone laughing and talking together. Two blonde girls added to the excitement. Loved, loved, loved our experience there. read more

Yum Found this little gem when looking for a sweet treat when office relocated to the area. It is in up and coming area so not an area I suspect folks will fin themselves unintentionally. Narrow European coffee house vibe with the overly used kichy signs. Had the tiramisu and muffins both moist, fresh, and flavorful. Cappuccino wasn't bitter, clearly the sweet gentleman had been at this for sometime. The older gentleman was funny and chatty. If you are craving a sweet treat or some caffeine, stop by! read more

An absolute gem in Norwalk. Might I say the best cup of coffee in the city. Located in a historic section of Norwalk Cafe Aroma has comfortable outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating. Don't think this is just your average coffee shop though. It's a business where the owner not only cares about the product but customer service and the experience. The coffee is served with a soft Amaretti cookie. Every drink I've had here from the latte, to a double espresso to a cafe mocha has been amazing. The menu doesn't just stop at coffee however there's handmade gelatto, fresh baked goods and numerous other delights. This coffee shop is well worth the drive from Fairfield county and beyond and if the street parking is limited there's a garage on River St. read more

Coffee is good. I got the Fredo and my brother got the mocha. Prices were fair and parking was easy. I didn't like that when a customer on the outside patio decided to have a cigarette that the smoke blew into the cafe. I didn't stick around. I probably won't be back, there was nothing special about the drinks. I would recommend the place if you are in the area. read more

The best coffee in CT by far. What makes it even better is the family who serves the coffee. Apollonio and his son Giorgo always put a smile on your face and make you feel like you are family. They always use the highest quality ingredients and put care into each coffee and pastry they serve to their customers. I live in Milford now but when I was in Norwalk I would be at Cafe Aroma almost daily. I would recommend trying the Freddo Espresso or Freddo Cappuccino when you visit. Bring your laptop too and work from there. The wifi is great. read more

Stopped in here late on a Saturday to get dessert. After looking at the extensive dessert cooler so many choices, we were drawn to the gelato. I got the Fig one which was delicious and the smallest size was more than enough for me. At $2, you really can't beat that. Family owned and has such a welcoming community vibe, kinda like CHEERS, a place where you just want to chill all day with friends. The stand was run by just one person who had to quite the line of folks aching for their ice cream folks. Between us four adults, we all chose different combinations of the Tiramisu, amorino, bacio, and chocolate. The gelato here is goooood - creamy, full flavor whether it be nutty, chocolate or cherry. My tot was a more of a fan of the cone than the gelato. The gelato here was not particularly pricey for Norwalk or it being gelato, as opposed to traditional ice cream. My one and only gripe was really that after the person finished serving up the line, he quickly wrapped up with a handmade BRB sign and left his post. The stand remained unmanaged and with some gelato-hungry potential customers lurking back and forth for at least 20 minutes. We eventually left and never saw the guy return to the stand after we finished our scoops. I hate to feel we really lucked out timing-wise but seemed like we did. Just hope to be as lucky the next time we are in the neighborhood and are craving a couple of scoops.

Maybe we need a break but we definitely need a break from that young gentleman who took our order... The next flavor I added on top of the caramel cookie gelato was the maple walnut ice cream. The maple walnut was crafted perfectly. I am unsure what my grandpa, grandma, and dad ordered, although they all enjoyed their ice cream as well! I appreciated how eagerly attentive the staff were when we ordered. They were even beyond informative and very patient when we were making our order. Overall, this place was worth the drive to see our family friend and left us full and happy for our drive back home!
