Nothing crazy. They had on the window there was a Summer Sale and we misunderstood, anticipating that the tennis shoes / running shoes would be on sale. Instead it was sandals and heels on sale. They were still $50/$60 for those shoes and running shoes were normal price. There was only one worker and we didn't run into her. For tennis shoes/running shoes for the name brand (HOKA/New Balance) it would be cheaper to just get them from their own websites for a specific running store. read more

Very helpful and knowledgeable. I was looking for a specific running shoe that I had bought there previously but didn't see on display. They spent the time to find the shoe in my size in the back. As a family we have bought numerous pairs of shoes here and will continue to do so. read more

Been coming here for years, always shop for my shoes here cause I work at the hospital right across the street. Was excited to try on a new pair of onclouds, danskos, or the platform crocs. Walked in looking, waiting, no one ever approached me okay whatever, I ask the sales chick if they had any platform crocs "I don't know crocs are over there I don't know our selection" okay cool thanks, I'll just help myself. Whatever happened to customer service? If you want to make a sale be approachable or approach the customer.... Didn't ask if I needed help or could try anything on or if there was anything in particular I was interested in not even a hello or how ya doing.... so I walked out and left. Also to note there was one customer in there aside from me, so no they were not busy. read more

The most asinine return policy I've ever heard of. I purchased a pair of Clifton 9's & wore them for a test jog on a treadmill & realized they weren't going to work for me. At the time of purchase, we were advised not to wear them outside, & I didn't - I wore my old Altra Torin's TO the gym, and then changed into the Cliftons AT the gym. When I went to the store two days after my purchase, the sales ladies looked at each other & said "she just admitted to wearing them." Was I supposed to lie? They escalated to the manager & when I asked how I'm supposed to know if the shoes are going to work for runs if I can't run in them she said "well, I know it might sound dangerous, but you can run in my store." Uhm? So you're encouraging me to potentially harm myself or other patrons in your cluttered store so I can determine whether these shoes will hold up in a jog? No thanks. Following this encounter I did a little research to see if other stores had similar policies & discovered that nope, it's just Sound Feet with this predatory policy. Fleet Feet for life, I guess. The wait for shipping will be well-worth the better customer service & reasonable return policy. In addition to that, when I made the initial purchase, I'd originally gone to the Nags Head location & walked around the store for several minutes while the sales ladies gossiped. My mom got some pretty juicy tea while she was attempting to find shoes (without any sort of assistance from the staff). We decided to make the drive to the Powell's Point location and were immediately greeted and helped by the ONE salesperson there, who proceeded to assist myself, my mom, my dad, AND two other patrons simultaneously. Whereas at the Nags Head location, there were at least four-five salespeople milling about and pretending we didn't exist while they discussed their personal lives. Powell's Point had great customer service, so no hate to them, but I've consistently been disappointed by the staff at the Nags Head store. read more

The lady that helped me out was awesome! I was having foot pain and she knew exactly what I needed. Got the Oofos sandal, after just a few days of wearing them my foot pain is gone. Update: 8/31/19 if you feel like Cinderella, come here for the perfect fit! This experience was so much better than my first one!! We were helped by a nice man named Jim who was awesome!! My friend bought a great pair of sneakers with amazing customer service! He helped her with her foot problems and her stance and got her the perfect pair of shoes! He's our Prince Charming! Ralph assisted me and was über pleasant and a great footman! (Aaron was the person who waited on me last time... evil step sister, lol)! Just goes to show you, take a second chance! Was on vacation last week when my sons scandals broke, he has a wide large foot 16 4E, tried 3 other stores in the area before being recommended to come to Sound Feet. Dee was amazing in helping us find shoes my son has mobility issues so she even came out to the car to help us. Putting the shoes on his feet and helping us. This kinda service doesn't exist really anymore. I want to thank Dee for her care and going above and beyond to do her job. I would recommend Sound Feet Shoes to anyone. This review is from last year but the experience was so bad a year later I still am upset about it. The place is very expensive. I got into a screaming match with some dump older employee because someone else rang up my sale. When we walked in there he approached and gave us his life story, I walked away from him because I did not care, I'm here to shop not be your therapist. Then I talked to someone else that was interested in working and selling me something instead of complaining to a customer! When the other employee rang me up the fat old guy started yelling at me so I yelled back. Apparently they work for commission, but still you don't talk to customers like that. read more

The Sound Feet Chain of stores has really improved its customer service in the past two years. In the past when I would come to the OBX's I would always find time to shop at the Nags Head store. Sometimes the staff would welcome you to the store sometimes they acted like you were an intrusion. The last couple of times that I have been in I have been greeted and told that if I need help just let Sheila know and she would be happy to get my shoes or answer any questions the I had. She is very knowledgable and if she did not have a ready answer she asked one of the other of the staff. She helped me with my foot problems and measured me for orthotics. I am so glad that I got to meet and work with her. Sheila has that welcoming old Southern charm and appears to have never met a stranger. Definitely an asset to Sound Feet. read more

We just had an awesome experience at Soundfeet! I needed new tennis shoes and Miriam couldn't have been more helpful! Not only did she fit me with an awesome pair of sneakers and insoles, but I had my 2 year old toddler with me and she was so sweet, patient and attentive to him!...it made my shopping experience so much easier. Both she and the other associate were good humored about his toddler curiosity and they really went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed while having a kiddo in tow. We left with new kicks and a balloon! Will definitely be back next time I need new shoes! read more

I went in the store yesterday. Not one person greeted me or asked me if I needed any help. I was looking for 3 pair of shoes and I am a big shopper as my hubby describes me. Revamping my wardrobe since kids have grown up. Since no one offered to help me I found my way around the store although I prefer high end shoes they had an ok selection but no true high end. High end meaning around $350/pair shoes for me. Only found flip flops running I think $140.00 but tons of inexpensive budget friendly brand name flip flops. I love quality and comfort and willing to pay. Anyway found a pair of flip flops since that's what they specialize in that. Since I was ignored was able to look up shoes they had in the store online and this store was significantly marked up. Due to customer service I ordered them online. read more

If you like Dansko shoes, they have an excellent selection for women, plus have alternatives in other brands. In this particular store, the men's shoes weren't clearly differentiated from the women's shoes, but the sales staff helped me find exactly what I was looking for. read more
