I have a gym in my building but got terribly bored of working out with my ipod and running on the treadmill watching TV. I found Grace through my sister. We did some buddy training then soon after I stole her all to myself. Personally, I have never had a personal trainer that works out with me and Grace does! It's like having a workout buddy. She is always in tune with how my day is going, my week is going, what lies ahead and helps me get over hurdles. Grace is very knowledgeable and has a huge background in nutrition, both through Greenlake Nutrition and with her extensive education. She is an athlete herself and believes strongly in wellbeing. She is also very reasonably priced! If you don't (although she will) want to workout at Greenlake doing some stairs and running or work out with her in your buildings gym you can go see her at her gym in Capital Hill. She is super flexible, low pressure sales and has some pretty amazing workouts. My body loves her for it. I'll describe our sessions in a cluster of words because sometimes when you are working hard all you can get out are one or two words. Here's what comes to mind. COMMITMENT, Warm up, check in, stretch, run, faster, run, slower, run, farther, stretch, circuit, bicycles, jumpies, cycling, PERSIVERANCE, sweat, jump down, jump up, sweat, repeat, lunge, squat, strength, booty, strength, body, abs, ouch, ACCOMPLISHMENT, LOVE! After the first few minutes of the first session, I realized that Grace was far from the stereotypical image I held of personal trainers. Grace is committed, competent, considerate, punctual, professional, flexible, genuine, and knowledgeable. Working with Grace is challenging yet rewarding. She has helped me get from no history of exercise (ever) to being able to run for 6 miles in 5 months. She has carefully crafted specific workouts around my busy schedule and my own personal goals (which were easy to discover as soon as Grace helped me realize my own potential). I had a DEXA scan and an RMR (resting metabolic rate) test done. Both were super insightful for the benefit of my health. I recommend both tests! Joel and Tiffany both helped me. They are the owners and they are very kind, compassionate, and detail oriented. They really care about the customers that come through the door. Tiffany took time to sit down with me individually and carefully explain the testing results and answer all of my questions. They also have an app that has the reports and such on it as well for your reference. The space is medium sized and is very easy to get around in and go from test to test if you are doing multiple tests. It's a very clean and well laid out space. It was a little tricky getting into the building, but I figured it out! On that particular day, they had their cute dog in the space with them and that was very calming for me. I had a bad experience at this clinic. The initial issue I had was a billing matter. I received two…read moretreatments from them, but for some reason, the second treatment was nearly twice as much as the first. I called their office to get some sort of explanation. The explanation I was given didn't make much sense to me. The initial person I spoke with seemed a bit unsure as to why the second treatment was so much more expensive, so she told me that she had to look into it more and get back to me. I called the office again a few days later and spoke to someone else who worked in their office. She gave me a completely different explanation from the first individual that I spoke with, and I was no less confused after speaking with their second rep. She eventually told me that she was just relaying the notes that had been left in my file by their manager. So, I asked if I could speak with her manager directly to get a more detailed explanation. I was connected to the manager, and I believe her name was Ronnie. The first thing that Ronnie said to me when she got on the phone was something along the lines of "I'm just going to tell you the same thing that the last person told you." I found this initial greeting to be unnecessary and a bit condescending. She was the third person I spoke with at their office who attempted to explain to me why my second bill was so high, and her explanation was no less vague, inconsistent, and confusing than the other two. I think what I found most annoying about the entire situation, though, was her attitude. She seemed very blasé and disinterested in rectifying the problem. It didn't even seem like she was taking the situation very seriously. In any event, I ultimately paid the bill, but my experience in dealing with their office/billing staff was far from satisfactory. They just seemed a bit sloppy and unprofessional to me. I won't be going back.
