Yesterday my neck seized up and I needed to get someone to help with it quickly. I messaged Li's Spa late at night, and was surprised to get an answer immediately. They booked me in for early the morning. When I arrived they got me in to a room quickly. I told them I had never been to a spa before, and the receptionist was kind and told me what to do. The room was really nice, and it was dark, peaceful, warm and relaxing. There were covid measures in place, with an air purifier, fresh bed dressings, and an additional cover for the table where my head went. As far as the massage, it was really really wonderful. She responded to my requests for pressure, and communicated with me to make sure I was feeling comfortable. She spent time working on my difficult spots, but also worked the whole body. I dont have anything to compare it to, but I'd say it was really wonderful and I felt so much better afterwards. I was happy she worked on my knots and got some smoothed out. On my way out, the owner was at the front of the shop and offered me water, and a snack to help with the post-massage effects. She was very friendly and warm, and was happy to talk and answer any questions I had. I highly recommend this place, and will definitely go back.

If you're there, check out the before and after pix in her lookbook (or on her web site, actually) and you'll see what I mean. My results match those results. I had a big event this year and I didn't want to hear "you look tired. you must be working sooo hard, it's such a shame you have to work" or "are you angry? What's wrong?" - both of which I've heard from co-workers, family, etc. So I decided to be brave and try something new. Dr. Bhogal injected my normal botox and then, on a different day, the new experience: three vials of filler, all different types, in various places in my face (not lips) about a month before the event. Grace also did a marvelous job with my eyelashes, which she tinted and curled. And it was a transformation. I still looked like me - nothing looked extra puffy, nothing looked "done" - I just looked like I'd had a glorious restful vacation and had been absolutely meticulous about skin care my entire life, and maybe had gotten a little lucky with the genetic lottery. Oh, and none of the filler was painful. A little weird feeling but there was a very generous amount of numbing cream applied and no pain whatsoever. I was extremely nervous about the filler (thank you, Google) and the office team and Dr Bhogal were wonderful about answering my dozens of questions and reassuring me and making sure I was totally comfortable with proceeding. Dr Bhogal is absolutely meticulous about all the rules, especially safety and cleanliness. And caring - she followed up after the procedure with anxious me several times to make sure I was happy and ok post-procedure, and had me send her pictures of how it was doing. The office staff are lovely, very nice, very helpful, very detail oriented.

During both of my sessions, I was never given laser safety eyewear. When I asked about eye protection, staff told me it wasn't necessary because the machine is "3D." After my second session, I researched the device. The "3D" in Soprano Titanium refers to its three wavelengths (755nm / 810nm / 1064nm) -- it has nothing to do with eye safety. In fact, the 1064nm wavelength can reach the retina, and the manufacturer specifies laser-rated eye protection for patients as standard. Every reputable clinic provides it. This one didn't, and worse, gave me a made-up explanation when I asked. If a facility cuts corners on something as basic as eye protection -- and confidently gives customers false safety information -- I can't trust anything else about their safety practices: machine settings, maintenance, staff training, any of it. I cancelled my remaining 4 sessions. I couldn't get a refund through Groupon and had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Do your research. Your eyes don't grow back.

She got her eyebrows waxed for the first time ever and legs waxed for the second time. Staff was polite and efficient. Her eyebrows look great and she said it wasn't painful. Her legs also looked good and no post-wax bumps (which has happened before after waxing at a different place). More than a week later and her legs are still smooth. Our one complaint? They don't do a great job removing the wax. She came home with visible patches of purple on her thighs and legs. I took one photo, but this was everywhere. Definitely not the sort of thing where you could wax and go out. Have to go home and scrub it off. No issues with the wax temperature though, and my partner has pretty sensitive skin, so this was great!

She is also great with responding promptly & about checking in to adjusting the frequency of appointments depending on where things are at with your hair growth as opposed to pushing a set schedule that may be less effective & lead to needing more sessions. I just finished the last of my sessions this week & am super happy with the results. As an esthetician myself (though not certified in laser, otherwise, I'd do my own!), I really appreciate all the little ways she makes the experience more comfortable & if I weren't leaving the area I would definitely continue to come to Skinnovate for my lasering needs!
