Erik was very professional at helping me disable my old lock and install a new lock. He arrived on time, was very efficient at disassembly and figuring out the inner structure of the old lock and very fast at installing the new one. He cared a lot about quality and user experience, we tested out the lock several times and he even cleaned up twice with a vacuum. He was also very responsible as after he left, my roommate and I discovered our old lock actually was weird at a certain angle which will cause inability to enter from outside, so we immediately texted him and he immediately came back to help us fix that. I called Sound Lock & Key to get a key made for our side door. They only key we had for the door had been lost for years, but we never used the door, so it didn't really bother me. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and I now needed to use that side door! I texted on a Wednesday and got an immediate response and a ball park of what it would cost. We set up to meet on Friday and he showed up right when he said he would. I showed him the side door and he was able to make new keys for the deadbolt, but not the door handle. I was fine with that and asked that he proceed. I think it took about 30 minutes from the time he arrived to the time he left - including removing the deadbolt, and making me 3 new keys. I would totally recommend Sound Lock & Key for any job you have. I know if I need anything like this again, I will be calling him back out! Called in a bit of a panic because I was out of town and my friend's key was trapped in the lock of my door. Erik answered my call and was able to come to the rescue right away. Serendipitous success! I purchased two smart keypad deadbolts (Schlage Encode) hoping to rekey them to match the rest of the house. After a hardware store told me it couldn't be done due to difference in brand, I set out to return them. This was frustrating as I was pretty sure the cylinder could be swapped out.
