My son and I enjoy coming into the store to go through the selection. To purchase and to make future purchase plans. I even love perusing the marked down buckets. The staff is chill and always helpful to look up anything for you. I haven't had a vinyl disappoint yet as far as value. Vinyls are not cheap regardless where you buy them from. I haven't bought a used one yet, but it's in the plan. I haven't even purchased some candy bars that I never heard of for fun. Lastly there's a rewards program too. read more

Service is awful. Staff is disenchanted, disengaged or worse, confrontational. There's no reason to step foot in this store. The return policy is nonexistent. The staff will try to blame you for faulty merchandise, and they have a full sense of entitlement and superiority. There is nothing valuable at this store that you can't purchase with more ease and security online. read more

I love this little (not so little) shop. I shop primarily for records (new and used) there and some skate accessories. They've got a decent selection of both. I discovered Sound Revolution on a lunch break fresh off the boat from Austin and have been going there ever since. It's way the heck up North so if I'm ever on that side of town, I always, always, always stop in. What to look for - all of the cool skate accessories are on the far back wall in a case. If you bring the kids, it's always nice to let them choose a record from the the "free" with purchase or dollar bins right near the front door. That said, considering the full content of the retail line, sometimes there are shady characters that patron the store late at night. It'd be nice if they moved the "free" with purchase/dollar bins slightly away from the front door so the kids can thumb through without us fearing for their lives lol course I know beggars can't be choosers ... Other than that, this place is pretty cool with an awesome selection of new and used vinyl and skate board accessories. I come here for two things: the vinyl bins and the kindred spirits behind the counter. I love music banter and at no other place in town is it as good as it is here. If you feel like no one has any idea what you listen to sometimes, you'll leave Sound Revolution devoid of this musical estrangement. The vinyl bins aren't the primary focus of the store but I've scored some pretty good finds here. Sound Revolution is probably the last place to score vinyl on this side of town since Vinal Edge moved to the Heights. Their bin selection is mainly used but they have some pretty cool new stuff in stock. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area! read more

I've been coming here since I've been able to drive at sixteen. Twenty-nine now and store is still awesome, and also opening a new location soon at Louetta and 249. Have become friends with the family owners who are beyond sweet. Best smoke shop in town I'm convinced. Awesome selection of glass and plastic pieces, discount stuff but also some very high end pretty much artistic pieces. Also, all glass is bought from glassblowers in TX or the US, I know for a fact. Music selection is awesome. They have a great metal selection in cd's and vinyls that you just won't find anywhere else on the northside. Along with all the other stuff. They buy used cd's and vinyls as well. I don't skate, but the selection is good. Lots of cool clothes and backpacks and all types of merchandise. Best part...the staff is stellar. read more

This is a pretty cool little shop. You can buy everything g from body jewelry to tshirts and valet gear. There is a luttle something for everyone and this is one of the few left of it's kind. Its kind of similar to Spencer's in a lot of ways. I hope this place is around years from now so more generations can enjoy it as much as I do. read more

Sound Revolution - Music & DVDs Near Me - Spring, Texas

I was excited about receiving my new stereo so from a recommendation from my coworker I went to this store for albums. I must say I was not happy in how I was treated while browsing through the albums. At first entry I was greeted and asked if I was looking for anything.....okay. Within tens seconds As I started browsing through the "sale" records, the clerk climbed down from behind the register and stood at the door....Odd. This same clerk then asked again if I needed help....okay. I moved to the back wall of albums to browse. Who appears? The same clerk to ask again if I needed help. With a smile and as polite as I could (as I was starting to feel irritated) I advised this clerk that my coworker recommended this store and then asked whether it was okay for me to browse. Now during my time there this same clerk said nothing to the two-three other customers who were also browsing. Interesting. I'm a mature female. My appearance was casual, decent for a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I was ready to purchase whichever album caught my interest but I felt uncomfortable with being the focus of attention. Would I return to this store? Never. Would I recommend this store? Never. read more

Easily, my favorite place after a long days work. I mainly buy liquid for my vape, however it's my experience with the entire staff that makes my day. They are all so personable and knowledgeable about every product in the store. If you want an album but you don't see it, they'll order it for you. I am struggling a little with how to rate this record store. The guys working here are fun and engaging, and it is a cool little shop. Though selection wise left me a little flat. That is not to say you can't find some good things. Electric Lady Land, and several early Kinks albums. There is a section for Classic Rock, a tiny new trade in section, Metal/Punk/Hip Hop, et al, and a bargain bin. Though most is of the new vinyl variety. What is here is generally in good condition, and they will usually have something indicating the condition. Which I like. Prices can be on point, or a little high. Though nothing particularly over the top, which is pretty normal. If they get a bigger used selection, along with a jazz section then this is an easy 4 star for me. Right now, 3 1/2. This would probably be a regular stop of mine if I lived in the area though. read more

this place is awesome. It's small in comparison to other smoke shops, but that's what makes it great. They have a lot of quality glass pipes,bongs and bubblers...vaporizers too, of course. They always have good advice and don't take advantage of you. They sell records and cds, clothes and all tons of other things you'd expect at a smoke shop. Great staff and great place. This place is a hidden gem in the middle of no where. It's in North Houston on 1960. I definitely wouldn't say they're in the best area, but I went during the day and found no issues. They have a pretty decent selection of records and CDs. They even have DVDs. No this not a place to find a specific DVD that you're looking for, but rather just browse through what they have and go from there. They have a small selection of clothing and reading materials of class and metal rock and everything in between. They also have a large selection of smoke accessories and vape oils. Popped into this place because Vinal Edge had relocated to downtown. Now this is the only place up north that I know of that carries vinyl. Not the biggest selection but still very decent with a nice range in selection. Typical used classic rock and pop vinyl. For some newer alt stuff they had M83. Saw Daft Punk's Discovery. I went in looking for some black metal stuff like Mayhem or Bathor but no such luck. They did have a Venom record but I think it was a compilation of sorts. They got the new Yellow and Green by Baroness and a few Mastodon albums. The dude working the floor was really cool. He knew of a lot of good bands, mostly heavier stuff, and is working on ramping up the selection to make it a little more diversified with a bit more newerish stuff. They have a lot more CDs if you're into that, saw some Herb Alpert and Tijuana Brass and a bunch of other stuff. Saw one Anti-Hero skateboard, good enough for me. Also, there is a selection of band shirts like The Doors, Iron Maiden, The Who, Iced Earth. You get the picture. If you don't feel like making a trip downtown to pick up some records, this is your best bet. If they don't have what you're looking for, just talk to the sales guy. He might be able to hook you up in a couple of weeks. read more

popped in for this year's record store day with some friends. though they only had one wall of vinyls with roughly 50-70 records, they were good albums. a nice mix of old classics (used, so cheaper prices (anywhere from $.99 - $10) and contemporary, cool music ($20+). the guy working there was nice and knew everything. all you had to do was mention the first syllable of a band and he knew its etymology and all. he had great suggestions. the store also sells pipes and other smoking paraphernalia, posters, black light stuff, tee shirts, and skateboards. i like that they hand out reusable bags with purchases too. read more

Hello Texas! I was all excited to come check this place out, and grab a new bubbler. I saw that it was a music & Smoke shop, and I used to own the same type of store in Florida (Kronic Underground Music, Cape Canaveral). They DO have some GOOD music in there. Nice wide variety, lots of vinyl too. BUT, My jaw about hit the floor when I saw the prices of the smoking accessories! UNF***ING BELIEVABLE! They had a decent selection of glass, but the prices were EASILY 2 to 3 times higher they should be. I had to leave empty handed cuz I waz jus not gonna pay those INSANE prices. Even the cheapest plastic bubblers (like the little red plastic ones u see at gas station smoke shelves for $8-$10), they were selling for $27, and ANY of the nice glass pieces they DID have were all in the $150-$280 range. WOW! Sorry, I ain't the one! I would've given this place 4 stars easy, if they were not trying to rob people on their retail prices! Get wit it Sound Revolution! read more
