I've used Sound Window & Gutter Cleaning for the past 5 years. Matthew is great at scheduling and communicating. I really appreciate the cleaning crew. They do an excellent job getting all of the debris from the gutters and downspouts plus cleaning up the outside area. This year, they identified an issue with the way my new gutters had been installed that was damaging the roof. They immediately let me know, then sent a detailed report to me with pictures. I was able to send it to the gutter installation company and get it fixed the same day at no charge. I got home today after leaving the friendly team at my house to do work on my windows, gutters, and roof. I cannot even believe how amazing my windows look, so much light coming through. Also they did a moss removal and gutter cleaning. All the leaves and moss are gone and I also notice they were careful while cleaning what comes off since I have a back patio and there is no sign of anything falling from the roof. After I was looking around for a company that was able to do all of these service's in one day in my budget I am grateful I pick these guys. I strongly recommend their service. read more

Used them this week to clean gutters and windows and overall the service was mediocre at best compared to last year. Told me on the phone it would likely be a 2 day job but the guy rushed to finish in one and it showed. Some doors and screens were missed. There were visible children's handprints left outside in several cases. Surprised me and put all the roof debris into my regular trash can filling it completely with a sludgy mess. Could have easily discussed it with me as we have lots of places to dump if he didn't plan to haul it off. Debris from upper gutters was carelessly removed on the roof so ended up in the lower gutter today after a little rain and overall the cleanup quality was below what I have experienced with other companies. Also he had done a bunch of windows inside before I came out to check and was shocked he was not wearing a mask or gloves given the current covid situation. Most companies that are coming inside at all are at least following basic health guidelines. Overall felt rushed and a bit unprofessional. I will be trying a different company next year. read more

I've used this company for a few years now to clean the gutters and apply moss kill to an eleven unit town home semi annually. They were great in the beginning. The price used to be right for three years. Two years ago, they jacked their prices up by $200. That's $400/yr. I thought that was steep, but okay they deserve it. Fast forward to now, two years later. They send out two guys to do they same usual job. Four hours later, I get a phone call from one of them asking for $375 additional because he had misread the job order and had already hand brushed the moss off one side of the roof of my building in one area. I asked him to text me before and after photos of why it needed it. He only sent me after shots. One photo of the roof showed damage to one of the roof tiles. It now had a crease in and is now folded up. Another shot showed a small pile of leaves. I could not see much moss in that photo, but our back patios was now covered with a lot of moss after they had packed up and left the site. This has never happened before. I'm also thinking if they had applied enough moss kill semi annually like they were supposed to, I should not have any or a very minimal moss issue. I am not happy with the quality of work and am now questioning their honesty. One top of this, next year (2018), they nownnnuu want to charge me over $200 each time to come out for the same basic job. Another big price hike within three years. Wow! It's time to find another company. UPDATE: We recently hired a new gutter company to come out to clean our gutters. Before he got started, he showed me pictures of some damages done to our gutters by the last company (Sound Windows & Gutter Cleaning). The attached photos is what he showed me. Apparently, instead of removing our gutter elbows to remove clogged debris like they were supposed to, the sound guys have been taking short cuts by kicking and pounding on them therefore damaging our downspouts. I just thought everyone should be informed before they make their decision on which company they can trust. read more

Joshua did an amazing job cleaning windows on our 3 story townhome. In the past, others have turned this into a 2-day job but he got it done in 1. He was a hard worker and didn't stop for breaks. I don't like giving negative reviews and your mileage may vary, but to me that's not an ideal situation. These guys are terribly inconsistent. I had them out to clean my windows and gutters, and they did a decent job. I'd have expected the gutters to be cleaner and they did a shoddy job tidying the premises (leaves and other gutter remnants were sprayed onto my door and deck), but overall I was pleased. My bill was $50 over what they estimated with no explanation. I reached out to get them to work on another property. Before they started they called to extort another $100 from me because the 5 year old house was "new construction" that "the windows still had stickers on them." I asked if it was because the adhesive would pose a problem and he rambled about the stickers and the caulking and all manner of random excuses that made it "really hard" to clean the windows. I pointed out that they cleaned my house 2 weeks ago and that my windows were part of a full remodel, and that they didn't charge me extra for it. He tried to blame it on his co-workers. I said maybe I would find someone else to clean the windows and he told me to have a nice day and abruptly hung up on me. read more

I specifically selected Sound Window & Gutter Cleaning due to the Yelp reviews. That was a mistake. And perhaps it's roll of the dice: other reviews indicate that they got the owner himself to come out and do the work. I wasn't so lucky. I got left with the runt of the litter, apparently. "Jesse" was almost always my point of contact. I specifically wanted to get a quote for the roof moss, debris, and gutter to be cleaned. He confirmed an appointment to have a guy come out to do an assessment. 5/7, the guy does not show at the appointed time. I call Jesse to find out where he is. Jesse doesn't know, but will call him. Roughly an hour late, "James" shows up. He apologized for being late and gave the roof a once-over from the ground; he quotes $150 for the gutter cleaning and $500-ish for the roof, plus $50 for hook/harness requirement due to what he felt was an overly steep roof. Per James, "they always put a hook up there so you can attach a harness." I asked him if he wanted to actually go up on the roof to confirm the hook was or was not there. He declined: "Nah, I can see it from here, not a lot. Should be easy..." Guess what? James forget the harness. He also forgot the roof cleaning tools. So he can't do the moss cleaning. He can only do the gutter cleaning. Unfortunately, if he does the gutter cleaning and then later does the roof cleaning, he'll have to clean the gutter again, resulting in a double charge. This isn't good, it's beginning to rain heavily. I call Jesse, who agrees to just have James clean the downspouts to get me through the rain period, then have James come back out to do the full work. I'm fine with this approach. Unfortunately, James isn't available until 5/20. Means I have to take off work, which I HATE doing. Luckily I had another contractor, Birdbusters (a review on them shall be posted) on 5/20. So I agree to the 5/20 day for Sound Window & Gutter. James is supposed to arrive at 9am and work through the day. 5/20 rolls around. This is where it gets silly. 9AM: no James. 10AM: no James. 10:30AM: no James. I call Jesse to find out what's going on. The response is essentially, "he's not answering, I'm sure that means he's on his way, maybe traffic's bad." Traffic is actually quite light and smooth, as most everyone is at their jobs already (like James should be!) Jesse: "well, we do book a range, between 9 and 10am." (And it's already past that point, which is why I called!) Jesse says to give it a few more minutes. 11:26AM: James calls apologizing. Apparently, he overslept. Says he'll be at my house in 30 minutes, and again, apologizes. 12:10PM: Birdbusters arrives. Mind, they have to get on the roof in order to get to vents in certain places, especially over the dormer and the rear of the house. One guy's in the attic cleaning out, the other is handling the vents. 12:23PM: I happen to notice a beat up truck in my driveway with nobody in it. There's a ladder perched on the side of the house. I assume it's James, but since he didn't bother to check in with me to let me know he finally arrived (over 30 minutes AFTER he said and nearly 4 hours after he was supposed to), I have no way of verifying, and I'm waiting on the Birdbusters guy in the attic. 12:35PM: Birdbusters attic guy is all done and goes out to help the vent guy. On the way out I notice James is sitting in the truck on the phone, not actually cleaning the roof. When I confront him about it: "looks like you don't have an anchor up there." OK...so basically, he can't do the roof cleaning. Again. They don't bother installing whatever anchor they need to do the work, and because he was so arrogant and refused to go up on the roof to verify he had everything he needed like I asked him to back on 5/7, he's now wasted a trip and I've wasted time. I call Jesse to find out what the deal is, he has no clue what's going on and doesn't know why James didn't verify this issue the first time. Meanwhile, Birdbusters had NO problem navigating the roof even at steep parts. There's more, but Yelp has a character limit. In summary: Avoid this company. Please. read more

I just had Sound Window and Gutter clean my windows for the second time this past weekend (4/24/2010). I had them out a year ago and they did just a great job that of course I called them again this year. Matthew, the owner, came out on a Saturday and did our windows for us on this visit. He is amazingly skilled with a squeegee, fast, polite and thorough. He was running a bit late because another job took longer than expected, and he actually CALLED to tell me he was running behind and would it be okay if he arrived an hour later than scheduled I can't remember the last time someone working on my home actually bothered to communicate with me that they were running behind. The total cost for my whole house was $200, including cleaning the screens (which were filthy) and this is less than other bids I received from contractors on Angie's List and ServiceMagic. I highly recommend this company to do excellent work at a fair price. You also won't feel worried leaving them unsupervised. Matthew comes across as a very nice, genuine and honest person. I solicited online and received a quote for gutter cleaning based on their satellite and GPS technology and my very accurate description of the conditions. They were very prompt in replying and then sent out a tech to review the job. We got scheduled for a Saturday. Got a call early Saturday morning saying the estimator had missed comments from their technician and so needed more money -- a lot more money. I agreed. Then the same tech called an hour or so later and asked if he could come the following Saturday as he needed his son to help him. I agreed. Never heard from them again. read more

I really can't say enough about how great our experience has been with this company. The cleaning team was so polite and respectful of our house. They did a wonderful job with the gutters and were great about cleaning up all the debris. The crew even went above and beyond by helping get big branches off our deck and washing things down with the hose. For those of us in the PNW with large trees in our yard you can appreciate how big of a task this was after a big wind storm. We had Sound Window and Gutter clean out all our gutters (not just the inside, but the grimy, mossy outside as well), wash all our windows, and remove the moss from our roof, as well as apply a moss preventative. All this for a very reasonable price. Matt is extremely responsive and explained everything in advance. The estimate was pretty much exactly what the total ended up being, so there were no surprises. Josh did the work, and our gutters, roof and windows are spotless and I mean spotless! He did a fantastic job. I do not hesitate to recommend Sound Window and Gutter to anyone at all. I didn't realize how filthy my windows were until Sound Window & Gutter Cleaning showed me the light, literally. These guys did a fantastic job cleaning my windows, not a speck of anything left on the glass when they were done. They even managed to get those basement windows right by the ground to sparkle, that's no easy task. I also had these guys clean out the gutters. Mine were more like planter boxes before these guys got to them and cleared all that garbage out. I had them do the whole job one afternoon while I was at work. When I came home the only indication that anyone had been there was that everything was clean. They left no trace of their visit. Matthew did an excellent job of explaining the cost up front and exactly what their service entails. Next time I need my windows cleaned I'll be calling Sound Window & Gutter Cleaning again. So glad I found these guys. Right off the bat, Matthew helped me with an unusual request: I live far from Seattle, and I wanted to send Sound Window and Gutter to my parents' Seattle house as a birthday present for for my mom (it's what she asked for). It can't be that common for a non-resident to say "Can you go out to someone else's house and take care of it?" but to Matthew it wasn't a problem. Within an hour of my calling and leaving a message, he'd called me back to set everything up. Then he confirmed that my mom had made the appointment. Then the technician who was actually doing the windows called me to let me know he was on his way. Then I got a call from my mom, raving about the job he did. She said the technician showed up exactly on time, and didn't even take a lunch break. Even though my mom told him he didn't have to clean the inside windows on the top floor because someone else did those last week, he went ahead and cleaned them too. And he cleaned the screens. And my mom had left the back door open for him so he didn't have to negotiate the front steps, and he made sure to shut and lock the back door before he left. Thank you, Sound Window and Gutter. Hadn't had my windows cleaned in YEARS and decided it was time to enjoy my garden from the inside of my house as well as the outside. This company was referred to me by a neighbor and they did a GREAT job. Great quality work and amazing value! I was quoted $550 to clean the interior and exterior windows of my house. Two cleaners arrived at my house. The cleaners were done in about an hour, excluding the time on the skylight. Some windows were in fact cleaned well. Others were left with grime or spots. When I complained the response was "Thank you for the feedback. I have noted on your file and submitted an inquiry to the cleaning team. Please keep us in mind for future service as we are happy to work with you on getting the work completed to spec. " * Edit * The company asked me to remove this review, and I agreed to post their updated response. "I appreciate your feedback. Since I had conflicting reports its difficult to know the reality of the situation. Our workers reported the job being extra difficult with high interior ladder work that was added on therefore bringing the price up to where it was billed. They are the best and most dedicated crew I have ever worked with and since you agreed to pay I felt the effort was understood and the work at least performed to some degree of satisfaction. It is difficult gauging everyones experience based on 2nd hand reports still I work hard to ensure a certian level of integrity to all the work perfomed for all of our valued clients and appreciate your thoughtfulness to reach out in an attempt to help us improve. When I was not able to be there at the time of service, he said "no problem" and mailed me an invoice after the work was done. I really appreciated that great customer service. I had SWGC out to my home and they did a pretty good job. Not overly amazing, but pretty good and my windows were in serious need of cleaning due to recent heavy duty bird activity messing them up. We'd recently installed a new deck with glass and metal frame railing and a few spots got missed that shouldn't have been, but overall I am happy with the work for the price. Although now that I've just seen the invoice I received, I was supposed to also have the railing around the glass panes wiped down... the guy didn't do it.
