I decided to upgrade the sound system on my DTS Cadillac. I found a place called SoundCrafters in South Daytona Florida 2400 S. Ridgewood Ave. unit 55. So I went to the store and I talked with the proprietor/owner Paul and he suggested what he thought I should get and I concurred. So I bought a good Kenwood touchscreen radio and four speakers costing approximately in total $2000. Along with a rear view backing camera. We arranged for an appointment to have the work done. The installer of my merchandise was a young man named Matt. This guy did a superb job installing this sound system however well doing so he mentioned to the owner Paul that he did not think I should purchase the speakers he said mine were quite adequate and he just didn't recommend it. Something about the ohms an electrical term. So Paul came out to the waiting room to talk to me and discuss this situation. He said Matt suggested not doing it and he agreed. so we have here the owner of a company that's been in business for more than 30 years telling a customer that maybe you shouldn't get the speakers. I thought to myself wow this is one class individual super honest person. Most people would not have even passed on that message I think. Well in doing so he saved me $500. I was so impressed with these two guys I just was flabbergasted that there was so much honesty here. So in closing I would recommend sound crafters to anybody and everybody I talk to about a new sound system for their vehicle and the utmost respect I have for that organization. I bought this product for $80 thinking I was getting something high quality or at least exclusive. After receiving it, I did a quick search and found the exact same item being sold online for $20--sometimes even less. I understand businesses need to make a profit, but marking something up 4x without adding any value is just plain dishonest. There was nothing special about the item to justify the price--no better packaging, faster shipping, or unique features. I feel ripped off and won't be purchasing from here again. 5 years ago the team at Soundcrafters totally upgraded the sound system in my 2007 Lexus 430. I was thrilled! So, 5 years later, when I bought a 2007 Bentley GTC, I decided to drive it from Wilmington, NC, to Daytona just to have Paul Papadeas and his team work their magic on my "new" baby. I was NOT disappointed. The aftermarket unit in the car when I bought it did not function properly and was not even visible with the top down. The Soundcrafters team outfitted me with a top notch custom system that included what is described as the "best fully loaded touchscreen car stereo"....a Kenwood DNX997XR, equipped with Garmin...as well as two custom control panels that included all the buttons needed for every other feature my Bentley has. Each piece looks fantastic and fits perfectly into the car's original wood frame. Everything works, both in the units and from the steering wheel. The topping on the cake was new backup and dash cameras. All I can say is that I am beyond thrilled. The true measure of an organization is what they do when things don't go well. Soundcrafters did simply brilliantly when there were problems with the product I had chosen. I purchased an after-market SiriusXM tuner for my Honda Civic, and brought it to Soundcrafters to install. Mike answered my questions clearly and fully, priced the installation fairly, and scheduled it quickly. After the installation was done perfectly, is when things started to go wrong. The after-market SiriusXM tuner had poor sound quality, including significant crackling. Mike and his manager Anthony stepped up, and spent hours working with the vendor to try to resolve the problem, including firmware upgrades and replacing different components. After multiple attempts, including a brand new unit from the vendor, the sound quality was still poor. At that point Mike showed me how to adjust my Android phone to use the SiriusXM app to get the quality I was looking for. He then removed the unit from my vehicle, and I left enjoying my SiriusXM music. Mike and Anthony were totally dedicated to solving my problem, spending many hours working with me and with the vendor. When the vendor was unable to solve the problem, they showed me a different solution that fully satisfied my requirements, all at no additional cost to me. I cannot say enough positive things about Mike's and Anthony's commitment, dedication, and professionalism in making sure I was satisfied. I visited the store to inquire about a replacement radio for my car that included Android Auto. After explaining what I was attempting to accomplish, Anthony suggested an adapter that would wireless connect to my cell phone and plug into the car via a USB cable. Best of all, it would not require tearing my dash out to replace the radio and the solution was relatively inexpensive. Anthony worked with me to ensure that the adapter was setup correctly and working properly. Great experience. Highly recommended. read more

These guys, Mike, Anthony, the most down to earth and professional owner I've ever had Paul actually talked me out of getting extra things I really didn't need also their prices are above reasonable not to mention that they back most of the stuff that they recommend. Super happy with Soundcrafters. Stereo in the Baja was crackling and finally gave up the ghost. Scheduled an appointment and within 90 minutes they'd diagnosed the issue (fried head unit), swapped in a new one and replaced a 14-year-old rear speaker shelf. I wanted to like this place. I *want* to support local businesses. Ive always wanted to check this place out. So around 1 month ago I thought that instead of buying some rear satellites for my home theater online, i would see what this place had to offer. When i got there i was greeted by sign that said I could NOT enter without a mask. According to the sign, "they hate masks as well" but their mandatory mask rule was to "protect the employees". I wonder what controlled studies they were referring to since there are no controlled studies that show masks are effective. This business pushed mandatory masks for 2 1/2 years for a new flu that has the death rate of the regular flu!! WTH. When I looked in the window I saw an employee, *alone*, wearing a clothe mouth diaper... Now all of a sudden since the overlords say the plandemic is over, they have a sign that says "welcome to the Endempic, no mask are required but you are required to stand 6 ft apart. LOL Sorry but i could and would never support a mask nazi policing business. Update: You're right. The mandate is over. Actually, it was over about 2 1/2 years ago bc the state never enforced it. What amazes me is that you tried to force people to wear masks for two years just to enter your store. The 1 star isn't for your expertise in audio equipment, its for your poor business practice. If you and your employees wear masks than your "protected", right? IF yelp is the platform for losers than what does it say for the business owner who responds to reviews? Maybe don't have such an authoritarian mindset in the future. Try thinking for yourself, try finding the non existent controlled studies on the effectiveness of mask, and maybe try supporting peoples personal rights and freedoms. read more

I was at soundcrafters in So Daytona don't go very Poor Customer service I wanted to return a service speak if I even got to the door one of the gentleman behind the counter said we don't take returns What do you figure it's less than a week ago instead of four I only needed two so I was going to return the pair. They wanted to charge me full list price for the first pair and a 15% restocking fee which means soundcrafrers only want to give me less the $50.00 for speakers I paid more then $100.00 what a racket. Buyers beware. I want to shop small business and support my local business I should have went to Best Buy. Or bought them online. If I did there wouldn't and problem in a return. read more

They installed my radio and rear camera some years ago and everything was good, but more recently the rear backup camera needed replacing. The flat rate for "installation" was $100, which I thought was a tad steep because it was not a new installation, no new wires to run and it was merely in a rear van cargo door, but OK. Their work is good. But they charged an extra $20 for a waste disposal fee, that's 20% more to the cost and they left the packaging in the van anyway. Twasnt more than a VHS tape in size, so $20 for disposal? And I get to keep the packaging anyway. Yeah, I like their work but didn't feel like I got my money's worth. I can't thank Soundcrafters enough for their knowledge, experience and excellent customer service. I originally started off going to a local big box store and a sales rep tried to piece together a sound system. He was from another department so wasn't familiar with the equipment but did his best to be helpful. When I asked about installation I was told it would be best to visit another location for this as their techs were fairly new and their previous techs had been laid off due to COVID. I appreciated the honestly but that isn't exactly what a customer wants to hear- you can buy it here but take it somewhere else for the installation. My next stop was Soundcrafters. The manager Anthony took note to what we wanted and was able to put together the perfect system including a back up camera. He explained the function of each component and the cost of each piece. Amazingly he was even able to keep it within our budget! We were able to get the vehicle into the shop for installation very quickly. Once the system was installed and it was time to pick up the vehicle, Anthony spent even more time explaining all the functions and how to connect the phone. The sound is beyond imaginable and we couldn't be any happier. I highly recommend Soundcrafters to all my friends and family. read more

I bumped into Soundcrafters at a Bike Week event in front of the Daytona track and eventually got my Harley to them. My schedule tightened things up for them but they worked hard to get the parts and the installation done in time. Picking the bike up I was happy with the quality of the work, nice cable management and very clean installation. After a few months a minor issue popped up its ugly head and the support they offered was 1st class. They worked a deal to save time and expense and I can say without a doubt they were on my side. I wrote a great review about this place a year ago. They installed a DVD system for me and it was fine. But now I came for ambient lighting and they told me to drop my car off at noon and it would be done by 5:30. When I came the guy told me they were just finishing up. I found out later they were, in fact, just starting. At the time of this writing I am still standing in the parking lot and the business is closed and it's 8:34 PM and they're not even close to being finished. One hour ago they told me it would be another half an hour and they still don't even have my car back together. I've missed dinner with family and going a lot of places that I could've done if they would've just told me they weren't going to get it finished instead of BSing me. read more

He went out of his way to solve my very complex problem caused by a lightning strike and was able to recommend a 4K HDMI cable (50') that would more than keep a strong signal over that amount of wire. Paul and Moe are simply excellent, both in helping customers get the right product to match customer desires, and in the installation and followup service. I had them install a Kenwood DNX893S Stereo/GPS unit in my car, and they did a superb job, allowing the steering wheel audio controls to operate the unit (volume), and with minimal modification to the wiring (a very difficult situation with a Mercedes). In addition, they linked my cellphone and set up my Spotify service to play thru the unit. After-sale service included reconnecting my cellphone and one other minor troubleshooting action - problem solved. There are a lot of sources for this type of service, but my hat is off to these pros! read more

I brought my brand new 2017 vw Jetta to soundcrafters in south Daytona to get my radar detector installed. First it was over priced, over $120 just for them to install it ( I had everything I needed). The sales guy who kept flirting with me the entire time... tells me that they're booked for 2 weeks, then when I'm about to walk out he says he checked and he can do it later on the same day. We set up a time to get the job done. Come back and he takes my keys and my car goes in the back, I was told about an hour. 2 hours later the sales guy and manager come back up to tell me they had cracked my windshield!!!! I'm informed that they will pay for the repairs and someone would contact me the next morning since it was late in the day. Next morning I get a call asking me to file a claim with my Insurance that way they will not have to pay for the repairs. I decline of course. The person on the phone keeps pressuring me to do so saying that it will not count against me and that it is free in the state of Florida, once again I say no. To make this long story short I had to drive with a broken windshield for over a week before it was repaired. The sales guy tried to add me on Facebook, very unprofessional!!! Rude staff pushy arrogant owner just kept talking about how he was in business for 36 years!!! Stay away I would never come here again. Buyer beware!!! read more
