The food here is pure cheap comfort Chinese food. Their dishes are all under $20 and they even have set meals under $10. It's such a steal! I ordered the below: Premium Beef Over Sticky Rice Stewed Tofu With Flounder + Steamed Rice Black Pepper Premium Beef Udon Seafood Stir-Fried Rice Cake Classic Milk Pudding Lemon Tea Every dish, except appetizers, comes with a lemon tea which is refreshing! The flounder and tofu was my favorite. It remained me of my mom's home cooking and the soy sauce underneath had so much flavor. The rice cakes were also nice and chewy with lots of seafood. However, the udon was super disappointing. It was very overcooked and too soft. The sauce was very oily and salty. The sticky rice was good but I hate celery and didn't know they put celery in it. Service was fine. There's no bathroom inside sadly. The place is quite small but there's enough seats and it was somewhat packed on a Friday night.

Had the premium beef with leek over rice. It was good, tasty and saucy. Had the flounder with tofu. Not bad and spicy despite a bit of chili pepper. Had the Osmanthus milk pudding which was disappointing as I thought it infused with the pudding but it's only a decoration on top. It tasted burnt too. The meal came with free lemon tea and a milk pudding. The milk pudding tasted burnt too. Service was quick and interior was nice, modern with few seats.

Bit of a hole in the way spot located right by a HeyTea. I ordered online but inside, there are a couple of tables and a kiosk where you can order directly on for dine in / take out. There's also English / Chinese for the kiosk. The prices are very good and the portions are generous. The flavor is good but definitely a little oily. I got the flounder over tofu, the tofu and flounder were tender and flavorful. The Taiwanese sausage sticky rice was a little too oily and flavor was just okay. I know they're known for their sticky rice so perhaps I'll try another one next time. I'll definitely come by again for a quick lunch or grab some take out.

What a bang for my buck! I tried tofu stew, clam tofu soup and a spicy beef pancake. The tofu stew was simple and tasty, but it was a bit oily. However, it was $5 and it came with rice and an ice tea. The calm soup was tasty too, very simple but delicious; I'm stealing this recipe. The spicy beef pancake has a nice crisp to it, the inside of the meat was a bit too soft/mush for my liking, but has good flavor. I ordered on the kiosk, but I saw many people ordering with the cashier. There is a flounder with tofu displayed and it outside and inside the restaurant and I'm definitely giving that a try next time. Also, this restaurant is self-served and everything comes out really quick. It's on the side street between 7th and 8th.

Pickled Cabbage Snakehead Fish Fillet Stew 8/10 it was delicious but it's a bit too sour for my taste.

This place operates like a cafeteria-style dining , where you pay and choose your own dining spot without a server. It's not too large, and they offer a special deal for one or two people, which is quite affordable.

A cozy small shop with good lighting and comfortable seating. You order your food at the front desk / or kiosk (no wait staff). The lady at the counter was friendly and took our order quickly and told us to take a seat. Food prices were not too expansive ( range btw $5-$26.95 for their set meals). Note they charged us $2 more than the takeout menu price for the blue crab sticky rice dish . Not sure if they recently raise their price for it or not , but they should update it. (We only realize it afterwards). Within a few minutes, our lemon tea was brought to our table and then a few minutes later our food arrived on cute little bamboo buckets. It all look and tasted amazing! We ordered sweet and sour pork, sticky rice with blue crab and seafood stir fried rice cake. Plus milk pudding for dessert. All meals comes with ice tea and option to add on soup or milk pudding for $3 extra. The lemon tea was more like a vita lemon tea taste and not real lemon tea. Milk pudding was good . We would have given it a five star, but the blue crab was not fresh - it was the only disappointment as everything else was very tasty. Will definitely come back to try the other dishes, just hope the prices don't change again )

comfort food at souponsoup Huge portions, authentic flavors, and fresh ingredients--It reminded me of my grandparents' recipes. The clam and tofu soup was so warm and comforting, the sweet and sour pork had the perfect balance of flavors, and the lychee shrimp balls were packed with shrimp, not just batter! Plus, the braised tofu stew combo is only $5 (!!) and melted in my mouth. Ft: -Blue crab over sticky rice -Clam tofu soup -Lychee Shrimp balls -Sweet and sour pork -Braised tofu stew -Black pepper beef udon -Lemon iced tea Everything came in the cutest buckets, and the service was amazing. Can't believe how much food you get for the price--definitely a must-visit!

Great comfort food for Fuzhou cuisine. The staffs are very easy going. You order your food with the cashier no wait staff, but they let you know you can sit anywhere. You would think first glance there is no bathroom situation, but it's actually behind the counter right by the kitchen. Very big bathroom and nicely equipped with sand paper towels and reg toilet paper. I ordered their rice cake bc it looked tempting on the menu and photos, but their seafood sticky rice look so good too, I would get that next. Combo deals are awesome, you get a soup with your meal and its a hearty soup. Lots of onions in the dishes but easy enough to pick out. TV is playing interesting chinese cartoons.

New spot on 7ave that just recently opened; interior is very clean and modern. However, it was quite cold the day I went and the inside was just as cold. There's no heat and portable heaters were used. Some customers got into an argument with the delivery person for leaving the door open and letting the cold air in. I had to eat with my jacket on. Other than the temperature, the place is pretty casual. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Note there is no water service, which also means that tipping is optional at the register. The menu is offer a variety of Chinese food, from ramen, noodles, clay pot rice to spicy stir fried dishes and appetizers. I notice they receive a lot of delivery orders. I ordered the fish fillet with spicy chili oil, black pepper beef with udon, and kelp with spicy garlic sauce. The black pepper beef udon is served in a wooden bucket, which goes into their overall store theme and play on their name. The udon was very saucey and flavorful. Tastes like sautéed beef ribs. I've had better chili oil fish from other restaurants but It was still a good dish. I liked the kelp salad as well but portion was smaller than other places I been to. Both dishes came with rice and soup. The soup was OK; taste like white pepper. Portions were generous for both dishes and overall, a very filling and satisfying meal. Total for whole meal was about $35. Will be back to try their special wooden bucket rice dishes.

Came upon this establishment because we found a parking spot across the street. We ordered the combo special. Tofu stew with rice and iced tea, with additional dish of braised pork over sticky rice with add on of soup. Place is small but clean and plenty of seating. We ordered through the kiosk and it was delivered to our table. Fast service and efficient. Rating: Tofu Stew with rice combo: Savory with the right amount of seasoning. It also had minced meat which was apparent in every mouthful. The rice also had that pleasant rice steaminess that you get from the upper brands of rice. Braised pork over sticky rice: braised pork was alright. The magic is in the sticky rice. Nice blend of finally chopped veggies and the "wok hay" aroma tantalizes your taste buds. The soup: a little on the bland side, but it could be,because we were there before lunch time and the flavor has not fully developed. The soup was a good tummy warmer. There were 2 huge pieces of bone and several goji berries swimming in the soup. Kudos! We want to go back. Not bad for under $20!!! Great food for buck !

This place is definitely a hidden gem, hole in a wall, kind of place. There were 5 of us and we ordered a few things to try. Everything was delicious, very tasty. I thought they must have used MSG but I didn't particularly thirsty afterward so maybe not. Place is small, they had a lunch rush. They also gave some pig ears for free on orders over $35. It as a nice find and we will be back. I forgot to take pictures at the beginning so please excuse the half eaten photos.

My sister's been to Soup on Soup three times in the past week. That's three times without me-- the audacity! So this time around, I made sure she wasn't leaving the house without me. The trek from home to here is roughly 30 minutes. The interior is clean and spacious, with big tables and ample seating, perfect for group dining. You can take a menu and sit down as you look it over, but ordering and paying is at the counter. * Taiwanese Braised Pork with Rice 台湾卤肉饭 $10.95 I can't comment on the authenticity of this dish, but the braised pork was tender and succulent, infused with rich flavors and spices. It is served over a bed of steamed white rice and accompanied by an appetizer (kelp with spicy garlic sauce), half of a soy sauce braised egg, and a bowl of clear broth soup. * Frog with Crunchy Chili Sauce 脆椒田鸡 $16.95 Known for its bold, spicy, and numbing flavors (no doubt thanks to the combination of chilies, garlic, ginger, and Sichuan peppercorns), this dish was the highlight of the meal. The frog was incredibly crispy on the outside yet tender and delicate on the inside. It is served with a bowl of steamed white rice and clear broth soup. * Salt and Pepper Lamb Trotters (3pcs) 椒盐牛蹄 $7.95 Remind me not to order this again. It wasn't terrible per se-- the flavor was good, but I think I just forgot how gelatinous trotters can be. We were actually hoping to try the Lychee Shrimp Balls 荔枝虾球 but they didn't have it today.

I got the braised tofu stew combo for $4.98, and it was great! The tofu had minced shrimp inside, and the portions were really generous. The lemon tea was tasty too. Definitely a good deal!

I asked to sub rice for noodles because one of my kids is a rice pot (can't go without rice) and requested extra sauce, which they kindly provided. The set meals are a fantastic deal; a full size entree, an appetizer and a drink for $19-20. An extra order of noodles is $2.50 and it's really double the amount of noodles that comes in your entree. I also ordered their new dish with has abalone and sea cucumber; this is not part of a set meal. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has that umami sweetness that comes from a great soup base and the noodles are delicious as usual. The abalone was tender, the sea cucumber had a bite to it. There was fish maw and wood ear in there as well.

Barely any flavor. 5/10 The mala pork intestine soup noodle: I got the regular spiciness level and it was actually quite spicy. If you can't tolerate spicy food, try mild or medium first. The pork intestine is bit chewy. Otherwise the flavor is good. 8/10 The seafood tom yum soup noodle: mild tom yum flavor. The soup base is slightly on the sour side. Overall is good. 8/10 Thai style soup noodle: the soup flavor is good. Not too spicy. 9/10 We also tried the brown sugar rice cake: it's just ok. Not crunchy enough. The brown sugar is missing some caramelized flavor. So it is a sweet rice ball. 5/10 I think the temperature inside would be fine if you go during a cool day. When it's a hot day, the restaurant could get very hot even if they turn on both ACs. With just 2 ACs insides, and eating a hot bowl of spicy soup noodle, we were all sweating inside. Though the food is good, I would not return during summertime. It's just too hot to enjoy a good bowl of hot soup noodle.

We walked into a simple, fast casual setup that focuses more on the food than the atmosphere, with a clean, functional space designed for quick meals and takeout rather than lingering. The ordering counter is straightforward, and the staff moves efficiently, keeping the flow moving even during busy lunch periods. The hand pulled noodles are the biggest highlight, with thick, chewy strands that have a satisfying texture and hold onto the sauces well. We ordered a few different noodle dishes, and the flavors leaned bold with chili oil, spices, and savory seasonings that give the dishes their signature Shaanxi style profile. The stewed pork and beef options were both generous and filling, but the lamb dishes stood out with a strong cumin flavor that brought a deeper, more aromatic taste to the table. The lamb burger is another unique item, combining seasoned lamb with a crispy, handheld format that feels different from typical restaurant offerings. The noodles themselves are the main draw, but the lamb burger is worth adding to the order if you want to try something beyond the bowl. Service is quick and efficient, making it a convenient option for lunch or a casual dinner. Portions are generous for the price, and the menu has enough variety to try different dishes across multiple visits. The spice level can be adjusted, but many dishes naturally lean toward bold and spicy flavors, so keeping that in mind is worth it if you prefer milder food. Xi'an Famous Foods is a reliable spot for anyone craving hand pulled noodles and strong, flavorful Chinese dishes. The chewy noodles, cumin lamb, and unique menu items make it stand out from more traditional Chinese restaurants, especially for a quick meal that still feels distinctive and satisfying. It is not a place for a long, leisurely dinner, but for a fast, flavorful bowl of noodles that delivers on texture and spice, it hits the mark well.
