    a menu for soups

I love a good Souper Market location! This lunch spot is unassuming but the quality of the food is top notch. I was under the weather and really needed some soup. I was able to snag a parking spot right at the meters located outside the door and pop into this snug but cute location. Without question, this Eastern European gal lives for the chicken paprikash soup. A big quart of that to-go makes for a very happy dinner, since the soup is hearty, flavorful and tastes delicious with sourdough bread. They also have salads and some sandwiches (like grilled cheese), but if you're coming here, it should be for soup! Don't be shy to ask for samples, as the staff are very friendly and happy to help!

Solid every time. Options here include Soup, salad and grilled cheeses. The salads are huge. Many different soup flavors and you can get a combo of soup and salad. I love soup so I really appreciate this place. Very casual theme. Good for a quick bite but I prefer to take out and enjoy at home.

I ordered season greens salad as received the blue green salad. I could not eat it because it had blue cheese and bacon on it.

They have a large menu for breakfast and lunch. The menu includes many vegan items. The vegan item up charge is very minimal compared to other places I have been. I would recommend the breakfast Sammy. We had both the vegan option and non vegan option at our table and they were very good. The sandwich is totally customizable. I bought some Guardians Cold Brew, which was good, but not necessarily what I wanted... But here is my review on the items that they could actually control. My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite for lunch, we were pleasantly surprised to be able to walk right up to the counter to order our lunch as no one else was at the counter at lunch time on a Tuesday! I order some kind of egg white sandwich on an everything bagel, and he ordered a Pesto Chicken Sandwich on a GF Tortilla wrap. 20 minutes later.....we received out order: My egg sandwich was ok - but because it was only egg whites, I discovered that I really like the yolks! The bagel itself was ok, but tasted like a plain bagel. I had never heard of the place they get their bagels from (Bialy's bagels) so I looked it up and discovered that they are closed Monday-Tuesday, so wondering if my lack of flavor was because these were older bagels from a Sunday delivery?? My husband's Pesto Chicken Sandwich did not have any Pesto - so he inquired and was told that they "ran out" of Pesto, but they offered him some kind of chipotle sauce, which he enjoyed. Being GF, I feel he always has to settle - but he did not settle here - he LOVED his sandwich and cannot wait to go back.

What I most love about this restaurant is their collaborative Lakewood spirit. They are part of Bunts to Birdtown (IG buntstobirdtown) which is a local business collaborative of businesses on Madison Ave in Lakewood. The businesses frequently host fun events - shopping crawls and scavenger hunt (such as today). I love that Thai Thai is part of this little business community and stays involved in Lakewood's social scene. I dropped in at Thai Thai for Bunts to Birdtown scavenger hunt. It was my first and much anticipated visit. The restaurant is currently not fully open and has a limited menu. Limited menu includes baos and bubble teas. It opens for full service again on Friday, August 1, 2025 (full menu and table service). The restaurant is small, has few tasteful Thai details (such as Bangkok skyline art) and neon Thai Thai sign. It's on the trendier side. My order: - Baos with roasted pork. -$6 for 2 - Good value and size! Meat was tasty and well prepared, but Bao was light on the meat. Bao had soggy bottom. - Thai bubble tea - $6 - Traditionally with milk, but they were out of milk. It was totally fine with me. Bubble tea tasted like light peach iced tea to me. It was good, but bobas were soggy. - Taro bubble tea - $6 - Pretty Instagrammable lavender color. Subtly sweet. Soggy bobas. Service was really friendly and welcoming. The owner told me that they just returned from Thailand. So it's amazing to have an authentic spot in the city! I'll stop by when full service will open and try other options on the menu to get the full experience!

We ordered the Tom Yum soup, Red Curry with chicken and Pad Kee Mao with tofu. The Tom Yum soup was great. Very flavorful and still hot after picking it up and taking it home. The red curry was super watery and flavorless. The chicken in it was very bland and the curry really had no flavor. The pad kee mao was a little better, but still not as flavorful as other Thai spots. There wasn't any spice to anything, but I wasn't asked about spice levels when ordering so that could also be on me for not saying I wanted it spicy. The veggies in both the curry and noodles were cooked really well though. There are definitely better and more consistent Thai spots in the area, so not sure that I will be back unfortunately.

We also arrived, funny enough, on Pasta night, so most of their Pastas for the evening were discounted at $14 a plate. By the way, shouldn't every night be pasta night since this is an Italian restaurant? - LOL. Anyway, I didn't even know Pasta night was a feature at the restaurant so it came as a pleasant surprise. FOOD -- My friend and I shared two main pasta dishes, the Garganelli Diavolo with Shrimp AND the Short Rib Garganelli. Both cost $14 for Pasta night but they are normally $21 each. -- Short Rib Garganelli (special price of $14 for Pasta night but normally $21) - braised short rib, sautéed mushrooms, and scallion butter): hearty meal but dry. It needed salt as well. I still liked it after added salt and crushed pepper. The addition of the mushrooms allowed for an even more meaty texture. -- Garganelli Diavolo with Shrimp (special price of $14 on Pasta night): tasty and my favourite of the night. Dry with dried sauce. Addition of salt and crushed pepper made it taste better. Well cooked shrimp. Overall, the 2 Pasta dishes that my friend and I ordered were good and it came with complimentary bread (it came on the side along with the pasta dishes). I asked for olive oil to dip the bread in and a waiter brought it up right away. Both pasta dishes had dried up sauce so the meal wasn't saucy and it also needed some salt. I actually don't like my pasta dishes with too much sauce at all but a little sauce would have gone a long way. My friend and I added salt and crushed pepper to both pasta dishes which made them taste better. They were delicious already but they definitely needed salt. SERVICE -- Excellent (100%). Friendly and attentive service. I entered for a 5:30pm reservation, arrived around 5:36pm, and was sorted right away. My friend arrived about 3 mins after me. We were checked in about twice during the night and brought waters when we arrived. I'm glad that I finally tried Bar Italia and I'll certainly be back.
