Went here for a Friday night date night with my fiancé. We started with the avocado hummus which was good. For my main I had the vegan mac and cheese which was good but had no mention of any spice level on the menu so that was a surprise to get a little kick from that. Just discovered this nice restaurant. We had a late lunch after an appointment in the Cleveland Clinic building just across the street. The food has been great excellent. We tried calamari that was spicier than usually but I like it better than in other places. The Forage burger was great and fries are exceptional. The service was fast and the waitress Caroline is very friendly and nice. Overall we had a great time seating outside in the shade with weather cooperating. Highly recommended. read more

Our waitress was the best! She checked on us multiple times, was super friendly and out going. She made us feel welcomed and comfortable. I got the passion margarita. It was SO good. It had a very small hint of spice- if you nervous about the spice please don't be! It's so good. The espresso martini was also good. I got the pierogis. They were served on a bed of sautéed spinach. I've never had pierogis made up this way. It was very interesting. The sauce was good, every third bite I would get a big spicy horseradish taste. Underwhelming. Ordered off the seasonal special menu- steak frites and vegan chimichanga. Steak ordered medium but came out mostly well done- a couple pieces still tasted good but at least 2 I had to discard into the napkin after a failed attempt at chewing. Chimichanga itself was good but the sauce was tangy and overpowered the dish. Also personal preference I'd rather it not come on a bed of arugula/greens. Sometimes for a Mexican dish I like a side of hot sauce- they only had Franks. Overall this was probably a bad order on my part it's not like this is a Mexican restaurant. Oreo cheesecake dessert also was mediocre- was kind of annoyed the crust was not Oreo and really the only Oreo was the half piece sitting on top with some fine crumbs. If you've had a decadent Oreo cheesecake before where there is Oreo crust, Oreo layers and bits IN the cheesecake- then you'll be disappointed. Staff was nice. Sorry this review is kind of harsh- but we also ordered off the seasonal menu if we come here again we'll have to stick with the regular menu that they are used to preparing. read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant based on the menu and the atmosphere when we first arrived. However, the food was average & the service was abysmal. When asking the waitress for recommendations between two appetizers, she gave us a completely different option. She basically told us she didn't like either of them and we should go with a different option. She didn't refill our waters until an hour and a half into our dinner and came by a total of 5 times in 2 hours. I actually had to go to the bar and get waters myself. The bartender was super nice about it & looked like she was working very hard. As for the food, it was okay. It felt a little expensive for what we received. The pasta was lacking flavor and depth & the pierogis were really good- it just felt like $5.50/pierogi was a bit much. This was my third visit to Forage, but first time having their weekend brunch menu. There was a good variety of options and being a vegetarian, I had a couple items to choose from. I had their vegan cauliflower tacos, which were good but not anything spectacular. I do like though that they use a lot of local ingredients and the menu tells where they come from. The service was a bit slow. We came at noon on a Saturday and seemed to have beat the crowds. There were only a few tables filled when we arrived, but it was almost completely full by the time we left. We had to wait quite awhile for our food and half of our party's food was brought out about 7-8 minutes before the rest, so they were a bit uncomfortable because they felt they needed to wait for us to eat. Food- Crispy Vegan Cauliflower was amazing!! Crispy cauli tossed in chili sauce and topped with scallions, this dish was so good! We were both amazed at how tasty it was and kept raving about it. MUST TRY!! Atmosphere- Classy, clean, and cool! Love the dimmed lighting, creating a nice ambiance without being too dark. Service- Top notch, that's all I have to say! Our server knew the menu so well and we loved the recommendations that he gave. The manager stopped by our table as well and was quite friendly. Parking- Meter parking is available all around the restaurant. I ordered from this place through DoorDash and it was one of the worst food experiences I've had. The salad had slimy, old lettuce--completely inedible. The BLT (if you can even call it that) was shockingly bad. The bread was soggy, and there were barely any ingredients inside--just a sad smear of sauce, a couple tiny strips of bacon, a few pieces of lettuce, and a couple tomato slices (see photo). My friend just moved into the neighborhood so we came up to visit. We decided on this brunch spot since it's in Lakewood's tiny downtown area. Cute! They've got indoor and outdoor seating, but most people sat outside since the weather was fantastic that day! They have umbrellas at every table, but they aren't the best coverage-wise. Only one side of the table gets shade. Geez! We tried: Hash n' Cure (cured steak with fried potatoes), the Chick N Griddle (fried chicken with biscuits and gravy), and Breakfast for Dinner (corn cakes with jalapeño with 2 pieces of fried chicken. The food was delicious! Although the fried chicken could've been more seasoned. It was juicy though! The biscuits and gravy were okay. Needed more gravy, so we asked for more. It was an up charge or more than $3! I guess this is the Midwest. They also don't have salt and pepper sitting on the table, so you have to ask for it. We shared a bottle of champagne and chose hibiscus syrup as the flavor to go with it to make our mimosas. Refreshing! Overall, prices were reasonable for what you're getting. The portions were very generous! We were all really stuffed! We even had leftovers. Staff was nice too. I do like that they advertise on the menu where the food is from. It's all sourced locally from all around Ohio! It's a cool vibe. Around 12:30 on a Saturday it wasn't all that busy (to me). No issue finding a table. Parking around here is parallel. If you're looking for great vegan food and don't mind droppin' a little bit extra dough, Forage is definitely worth checking out. Semi-formal feel with upscale food that will leave you thinking about it for days. I've eaten here a few times, and though I am a smidge bummed that (at the time of writing this) they did not have the vegan mac n cheese anymore (it was soooo good, comparable to The Green Kitchen's if any vegans are looking for a substitute), the regular mac was rich and creamy and did not disappoint. Also as a person that despises mushrooms with all of my being, I was delightfully surprised to find out that I actually enjoyed the vegan chick'n and waffles! Like ridiculously amazing! They came on top of slightly wilted spinach with a drizzle of horseradish cream. The dough was light but toothy. The filling was savory with a ton of beef flavor. They also had a reduced sauce of some sort ladled over them. It might have been red wine based - but it pulled the entire dish together into a flavor explosion in your mouth. These pierogis could be an appetizer for 2-4 people, but they aren't listed there. There were 4 in the serving , which for me, left me satisfied but not stuffed or weighted down like pierogis can do. read more

Came in for brunch one Saturday and the place was quite busy and most tables filled. The wait staff was busy but they were keeping up with the demand and filling beverages. I decided on the FPH Breakfast which was a hearty portion. Bacon was thick cut and extremely tasty. Nice portion of potatoes and a large slice of rustic toast. My recommendation is to offer fresh local jams with your offering instead of the generic packet given the local farm to table theme. My daughter had the Jalapeño Corn Cakes. This is an ambitions dish, but I'd vote for a more conventional pancake option. Staff was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was clean. One area that I would work on was the coffee. Thin and not a very good match for the quality of food. So many amazing local roasters are in town, and a robust custom house blend and good extraction process are a gap that is easily filled in Cleveland. O M G This place is Sooooooo good. This was our first time!! We had the nachos - which were actually potato chips - and they were SO GOOD!!! We are absolutely foodies, so when I say they were delicious, they were! Hubs had a pecan old fashioned (or 2) and the jalapeño corn pancakes with chicken. This one truly hurts. I went to forage a few Saturdays and had the best experience. The drinks were incredible, the duck fat chicken wings were great, the calamari was good ( needed more of the sauce), the chicken sandwich was incredible. It felt like a fantastic value and taste. Two weeks later I went back and the experience wasn't good. We got there at prime dinner time and sat at the bar. The food took a long time and once it arrived I was well on my way to feeling those beverages. I ordered the short rib and mushroom risotto and it was not good. The rice was crunchy and undercooked. This seemed so off base from the first experience that my partner and I decided we wouldn't hold it again them, everyone is entitled to bad days. We went back a third time last week and unfortunately that is the end for me. The entire experience was consistently disappointing. My cup for a cocktail was consistently sticky and appeared to be unclean, the duck fat wings that were so incredible the first time tasted like they sat in the window for a while, while one half of the wings had still cold sauce poured on top. The most disappointing was the short rib and risotto. I ordered it again to give another chance and my broccoli crowns were still frozen and inedible and the short rib sauce may have been A1 from GFS. Unfortunately it appears that management has very low standards as I saw who appeared to be the only manager hanging out/flirting at the bar but never interacted with patrons and was no where to be found when I sent my food back and asked for the bill. read more
