This is a review for the Riviera Maya Trip- Sourced as a company was a pleasure to work with. My friend and I traveled to Riviera Maya and overall had a great trip. For the price, this trip is an amazing deal. We couldn't believe how seamless the transportation and excursions were. Everything was booked, set-up, and communicated to us clearly. The excursions were once in a lifetime and I would highly recommend both Xel-Ha and Jungla Maya to everyone! The service we received from those ground partners was top-notch. Unfortunately, we can't say the same for their lodging partner, Hotel Aventura Mexicana, through a horrible experience that overshadowed the rest of our trip. My friend and I were sleeping in our hotel room in the middle of the night when two Spanish speaking men broke down our door and entered the room. We called the front desk multiple times while they were outside but no one picked up. Terrified, we fled to the bathroom and locked ourselves in in effort to hide from them. They tried to break down the bathroom door to get to us, saying "hotel staff" and laughing as if it were some sort of sick joke. Luckily the police responded quickly and the men fled the scene before they were able to hurt us. They did not steal anything-police told us they were probably looking to kidnap or hurt us instead of rob - really scary stuff. Long story short, we determined several loopholes in the security and suspicions of the staff's activity at the Hotel Aventura that made it so incredibly easy for this break-in to occur. We reported this information to Sourced and strongly encouraged them to reconsider their partnership with the hotel. The owner of the hotel has yet to follow up with us about how they will ensure this never happens again. Please be careful on this trip. The only thing protecting you from the outside is a sliding glass door with a flimsy lock. While we were thrilled with the other aspects of the trip, we cannot in good faith recommend this excursion as long as Hotel Aventura is a part of the picture. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. My group decided to do a wine tour out East. The bus wound up not using the GPS and made a wrong turn into the vineyard at Osprey's itself resulting in the bus getting stuck in the dirt. Half of our bus decided to get out and help push the bus but we were not successful. Our tour guide, Mallory, called her boss, in which she was told we had to walk a 1/2 mile back to the road through the vineyard and an additional 1.5 miles (2 miles total) to the vineyard where there was not a sidewalk and we had to walk against oncoming traffic. Our compensation was one more glass in the tasting. To top it all off, the same bus finally picked us up - late - not reassuring us that the bus was even safe to drive after completely bottoming out. When we asked Mallory to drop some of us off on the highway so we didn't have to go back to the city, she did not handle herself professionally. She was rude and reprimanded us as if we were children, rather than saying no and not giving false hope that she could. I certainly did not get what I paid for, especially since I had to walk to the last winery. To make things worse, they did not check IDs. The waiver just said that the attendee had to be 18+. What would have have happened if an 18 year old got alcohol poisoning on this "adventure" read more

I had a great time whitewater rafting . It was the perfect day., one of my highlights of the summer..The drivers were on time ,no traffic the bus was great.,staff was great and the price was great... #sourcedadventuresfail. Went on white water rafting trip today 8/17/19. Bus was supposed to leave location 595 11th Avenue NYC at 8 am. Called Soured Adventure was only able to leave voice message and emailed them, received no response. Bus finally arrived at 8:24 am and we were off for the trip. We had a great time and our host Olivia was a wonderful. She apologized for the delay and ensured we well attended. The bus broke down on the I-80 for an hour and we had to wait for a replacement bus that took an additional 40 minutes. Transportation was problematic coming and going. I would like to believe that this is an isolated incident and that they will try to offer some type of compensation. We'll see! read more

I really want to love this company... but I just can't. I've done two events with them now and while the experiences have been fine, I don't think they're worth the cost for what you get. I did the kayak and wine tour last summer. The kayaking itself was super fun and a great work out. My issue was the guides went WAY ahead of everyone and finished well before my group and I made it to the end. This became stressful for me, as I was fairly new to kayaking and was worried I'd miss where we were supposed to get off the river. Not exactly the relaxing day on the river I had envisioned. And sure enough when we got to the end point (which we only recognized because a couple other people in our group got off there and we hoped they were right), there were no guides in sight. I've done several guided river tours at this point with different companies and there has ALWAYS been a guide up front and a guide in the rear to make sure everyone makes it off the river at the right place and is comfortable knowing they're in good hands. At the very least there should have been a guide waiting at the drop off point directing everyone where to go. We were left having to find our own way back to the bus where they set up lunch. The second event I did was the country music cruise around Manhattan, which again was a decent event, but the staff seemed really unorganized. First of all, we were told to get there at least 25 mins early and then left to boil in the heat for over a half hour before being able to board the boat. Annoying, but fine, it happens. The worst offense was on the boat when everyone was lined up for the included buffet. The hamburger buns had run out and I asked if they had anymore. The woman on staff seemed really frazzled and said she would check. As she got some more out, the boat started rocking and the containers of food almost fell to the floor. My friend and I helped hold them to make sure they didn't fall. The woman then left us alone to get someone else on staff to help (leaving it up to us to make sure the food didn't fall on the floor). The two of them were clearly annoyed with one another as they were navigating this problem. I then saw the woman who initially got the buns take them out of the package and open them up and put them on the plate with her bare hands. Now, I'm not a huge germaphobe so I noticed this and just hoped she had washed her hands recently. When I looked back over a few minutes later from my table though, I saw her licking her fingers while continuing to handle the food. Ick. Overall, in both instances I think the staff could have used with a bit more training in how to be prepared for different scenarios and it would have made all the difference. With these group organized trips, you're paying a pretty high premium for the convenience of having someone else take care of things for you and I just haven't been satisfied with the quality of the services. Maybe I'll try one more since they're other trips do look fun but I'm not sure yet.. read more

We went on a snowboarding trip in Hunter Mountain, including transportation, a lesson & rentals. We bought it through Groupon so it was a bit cheaper. Adra, our guide was awesome! There were a couple of extra things we got that we didn't expect (bagels, coffee, beer) so that was Ana we some surprise! Definitely recommend this if you're in a group or solo. They are strict with time so make sure to be there early. read more

We escaped NYC today and survived white water rafting. :). We laughed, we screamed, we had water gun fights with neighboring rafts. We created a friendly war! But suddenly, they kidnapped our captain! and took our water gun weapons!! Then, we got stuck on a rock because we weren't paying attn.. ... (Not our fault! we were trying to get our weapons back!! Alas! We got off the rock. .. In the end, we rescued our captain :).. And they "gave back" our weapon. So much fun. Josh and Kyle from sourced adventures were a blast to have with us and we felt lucky and safe. :) great time.. Girls, try to recruit a guy on your raft if any of you fall off he can retrieve you faster. No biggie if you fall off though.. Someone will get ya. Its not dangerous.. just a nice thrill.. make sure you pay attn to guides. The end. :) read more

I've gone white water rafting, skiing, and wine tasting with Sourced Adventures. Each experience was well organized and there were no hiccups. The buses leave from Manhattan on time and return on time. The guides are polite and helpful. The lunch they serve is definitely not gourmet haha but it isn't bad either. I'll definitely be doing more adventures with them. read more

Got a Groupon for a trip to Hunter Mountain for $92, which was a great deal. The bus location is a little inconvenient. The guides seemed uninformed and confused, and we left a half hour late. However, I can't complain too much - they got me to the mountain with ski rental and lift ticket for a great price (I'm not sure I would be willing to pay the full price, I think it's around $140, if I didn't have a Groupon and a discount code on top of it). I won't speak on the mountain itself since this is just the means of getting there. They also have an option to get a lesson for only $20 for any beginners. I'll be keeping them in mind for next season. Edit: I went on another Hunter trip a year later. They have another pickup spot which is more convenient. I still wouldn't pay full price - they almost always have a Groupon deal and a lot of promo codes if you sign up for their email list. read more

I will never book anything with this company again. For my birthday I booked the skiing package (as well did my friends). Out of our control, there's currently a snow storm happening that is declared a state of emergency. I callEd days before asking if we can please get refunded because there's no other days we can come, also the commute is dangerous. Instead, I was told by one of the managers who's a man, (paraphrased) "Sorry we can't do that. We have to put the importance of our business first...but I promise you our bus drivers are highly experienced." I KID YOU NOT. Then I just got a call asking if we were still coming. THERE'S LITERALLY WARNINGS ALL OVER THE NEWS TO NOT BE ON THE ROAD! Trains are shut down as well due to over 12 inches, heavy snowing and strong wind gusts. I don't even want to reschedule. This wasn't worth my $170+ payment. Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves. And I'm embarrassed I allowed friends & family to buy tickets from a money hungry business who would risk the lives of people. What a birthday. We were thinking of rescheduling but after their disgusting handling of this situation which they've said MANY ppl who booked for today were worried about as well, I wouldnt want to come back. Extremely organized!!! Directions to the bus pick up were precise and easy! The bus ride is 2 hours, they play a movie and I recommend you bring snacks. Upon arrival everything is so organized!!!! You go to different stations to get your lunch, fitted for your life vest, and your bus admission. Being money for water guns to use in the raft because it's fun to squirt other rafters going by! The team was so accommodating from the reservation to the trip! It was just an amazing experience. 9 miles down the Lehigh, I will never forget this adventure. I will say, it was a self guided rafting trip and I am so thankful that we had Dan and Juan take over the steering of our raft because we might not have made it if I was the captain. The guides were nearby in kayaks and I was ejected once but our team was so awesome and got me back in quickly! Seriously, if I'm in NY I would book paint balling or another raft trip with them! What a day. In what could have been a pure disaster with the warm weather and 100% chance of rain, Collin turned our trip into a fun, light, decadent experience. We were able to get to Hunter Mountain in a jiffy. Collin kept it light and fun with his super important instructions and quick wit sense of humor. Even though the mountain was pretty gross out we decided to make the most of it anyway since the Hunter Mountain was practically empty! On the way back smooth ride thanks to our main man Alan. We decided to book the kayak and wine tour for my birthday. The whole trip itself was a great experience. The kayaking part was very fun and enjoyable. We are allowed to go on our own on the main guide stayed behind to ensure everyone made it safely. The wine portion of the tour was also very good. They had us sample anywhere from 5 to 8 wines and we can continue sampling in their tasting room if we wanted to. There's enough time allotted for you to be able to enjoy a glass or a bottle outside on their property. read more

I went on the Ski/Snowboarding trip to Hunter Mountain. The ride there was smooth and the guide Josh was very nice and helpful. The snowboarding at the mountain was great and even through the snow on the way back we got back on time! Went whitewater rafting yesterday 8/28/16 with my boyfriend. Our tour leader was John, and my group leader was Sam. I'm giving a 2 thumbs up for my experience. This was my second year going and again, I can say I had a blast! Sourced adventures is the way to go. Def no need to worry if your inexperienced or an expert. But you'll have way more fun if you go in a group. For some reason you'll have a few unadventurous people who don't like to have fun, and I can tell you now, it'll ruin your buzz!! Nonetheless, they have plenty of other cool adventures to choose from if rafting is not your thing. I for one will be checking out some others myself. HAVE FUN!!! read more

My boyfriend and I went in the wine tour in Lehigh Valley. Our guide was very friendly and he was great. The first two vineyards were nice. Bluemountain has the best souvenirs and the second vineyard was very cozy and beautiful. It looked most like a vineyard in my opinion. The last one however, Amore, had a horrible set up for tasting and it was 100 degrees inside. The patio was nice but we were a little rushed because there was a wedding anniversary they were setting up for. They did have some good wine though. Overall it was a good trip. read more

Hi! I did the Lehigh Valley Wine Tour through Sourced Adventures and loved it! Here are my 5 key notes: 1. Our tour guide, Jen, was laid back and a great guide, overall. She also brought entertaining movies for the way there and back which made the time go quickly, even though it was a very long or arduous drive. The bus was also clean regardless of where you sit. 2. The first vineyard (I believe it was Blair) had the best wines, the second had an amazing view with lunch served outside (FYI they had great sea salt caramel chocolates at this place) and the third vineyard (Weathered) provided us with good wine and great information about red and white wines. 3. Book your dates in advance (especially if you buy the deal through a site like Groupon), as reservations fill up quickly. 4. Each vineyard tends to have good deals on the wines, so bring your wallet (especially for the first vineyard). Some vineyards also sell cheese to complement the wine, but you're free to bring your own snacks, as well. 5. If the weather is nice, you're not going to need any extra layers of clothing. Go with your friends, family or lover- either way, be prepared to relax and have an amazing time! Enjoy! read more

Washington DC River Tubing Tour and Brewery Sourced Adventures was so completely unorganized and made this trip extremely frustrating and one I will never be booking in the future. First, there was no clear indication of where to find the bus when we were about to take off from Union Station. We were there 20 minutes early and spent 15 of them trying to find the unmarked bus we were on. There were no signs pointing us in the direction, and not a working number of someone on site that we could call. When we finally get to the river (as the driver made us sit on the bus for an extra 15 minutes while they tried and failed over and over again to park instead of just dropping us off at the front), the only Sourced Adventures Employee offered no instructions of where to go or how to proceed which led to a lot of chaos confusion right off the bat. Finally the best part of the trip comes when we finally get to relax and enjoy tubing on the river for a few hours. Then, we arrive to the brewery, and again the "guide" gave no instruction or indication of how long we would have. So our group of 4 finally go get 4 tastings (a total of 24 5oz pours of beer) and grab a seat when the "guide" comes to tell us that we are leaving in 5 minutes, so we didn't even get to finish all of the drinks we paid for. Flash forward to by far the worst part of the trip--the drive home. This driver had no idea where she was going. Went a complete roundabout way to Georgetown that took an extra 20 minutes and then a completely horrific route through DC to get to union station. So bad in fact that the supposed GUIDE hopped off at a stoplight halfway there without saying anything. I will never be booking with Sourced Adventures ever again. It was not a great experience whatsoever, and was completely unorganized. Next time they should've just given us an extra hour on the river than barely any time at a brewery. read more

We went on the river tubing and brewery visit trip. We had such an awesome day. Staff was very well organized and made the trip fun for everyone. We had a fanTASTIC time on our Kayak and Wine Tasting trip last Sunday. We found this on livingsocial, which it sounded like a common find for most participants. Our day started by finding a large group of people on the side of the road waiting for busses. There didn't seem to be much organization, but soon we found a Sourced Adventures guy on a phone with a bus. 2 diff trips were meeting at the same point, and it was a bit chaotic for those who didn't listen to the guy in charge- so just listen for bus name and time and you'll be in the clear! We boarded the bus and Cliff introduced himself as, pretty much, the cruise director, staffing his first kayak and wine tasting trip. He had staffed multiple other trips for the company, since we were sitting in front with him, we got to know him well. He was a really friendly guy who was super pumped to do his job. He gets paid to play! Kayak- the place was an easy entrance for everyone. The actual river was so much fun, a few faster spots and plenty of time to be lazy and relax on the river. Lunch- end of kayaking, not super organized, but plenty of time to change, eat, wait for the stragglers with Cliff in the last boats, etc. Wine tasting- it was on a beautiful vineyard, under a tent (thank god bc it was hot!), with really nice hosts. Only problems- they poured the wine way too quickly. A rushed wine tasting, not much time to enjoy each one. Also, no cheese and snacks! Even if they had to purchase that would have been nice. Plenty of time to enjoy the grounds, see horses in the stable, get to know our fellow tipsy imbibers. Bus back- fantastic. Shared bottles of wine on the bus, fun bus driver took care to get us home safely, and more friends made with Cliff and our seat neighbors. Do it again? Absolutely! Probably white water rafting trip next. Cons: too many people! It would have been nicer to be on a smaller trip where we'd have more time to interact.lack of snacks/cheese at wine tasting. Sourced Adventures was amazing! I enjoyed a recent whitewater rafting trip. I scored a LivingSocial coupon and easily booked our reservation online. As the trip came closer, the weather looked questionable, so I checked in with Sourced Adventures on their cancellation policy. I was impressed with the speed and kindness of the customer service. Luckily, it was a sunny day after all and we headed out to the Lehigh River! The bus was very comfortable and I was happy we could leave our belongings there while we went out to raft. The Sourced Adventures staff members were extremely friendly and helpful, and made sure everyone got checked in and knew what was going on at all times. We had a great day out on the water - get ready for some water fights, rapids and lots of rowing :) read more

My bf and I got a living social deal with sourced adventures to go to hunter mountain for ski trip; I loved that rental and lift were included so we skipped step 1 of the rental line once we arrived (there are 6 total steps). It was very cold outside when we got to bus station, and the checkin system did take 10 mins. Our guide, Matt, was thoughtful and played a movie (Hook), but it was muted. Most people were asleep on the drive there. The mountain itself was great! I had a fantastic time. They gave us each a free hot chocolate voucher but I forgot to redeem it :( the bus left the mountain at 4pm; there were two sources adventure buses and I liked how some confused tourists got on the wrong bus, but weren't kicked off; instead, the other tour guides just made a note of it to make sure we didn't leave anyone behind numbers wise. On the way back, we saw Inception; it was initially muted but some people requested sound. It did get loud at one point but the volume was quickly adjusted. I liked how they sent us a confirmation email the day before the event. Overall, positive experience! read more

I found Sourced Adventures through a LivingSocial deal and I'm glad I did. Nice to find a company that provides transportation. We went rafting at Lehigh in PA this weekend and it was a blast. I've rafted Lehigh several times before, but my boyfriend was a first timer and it was a great experience for him. It was a dam release day so the rapids were class 2-3. A basic lunch with provided (sandwich, water, cookies/pretzels). Good group of people and Elliot our SA guide was very friendly. My only complaint was the bus ride. The seats are not very comfortable but all in all a great time. I will definitely be checking their site for more trips. read more
