I first spoke with Levon on August 10th and informed him of exactly what I was looking for. Levon designed the exact system I was looking for and was available day and night to answer all of the questions we had regarding changes and updates to the system. Levon was extremely knowledgeable on the entire process and emailed us during every step of the process. Our system was installed on September 7th and would have been earlier if it wasn't for us delaying the project being out of town and not getting the documents back to Levon sooner. Overall even with the delays the system was installed less than 30 days after contacting Levon. The install was very smooth and the foreman for the install project explained the entire process that morning and what the next steps would be. Again everything that was explained was exactly how the process went to the very last detail. The solar inspection from the city was on September 16th and we received PTO on September 20th. Our system has been operating for almost two months now I don't have one complaint about except I wish I would've call Levon at Solar Shoppers from the beginning. If you are looking to get solar for your home I would definitely recommend getting a quote form Solar Shoppers. Of all the companies I spoke with no of them could beat Solar SHoppers price or timeline to complete the install.

Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. Hunter Gregory was my first point of contact who explained me the process in detail and provided the estimates for couple of options, mainly lease vs outright purchase, 1 battery vs 2 batteries. I got a chance to interact with the Engineering team and refine the design. The team was very responsive to my questions and concerns and addressed them in timely manner. LA Solar Group took care of the HOA application and SCE permits. Overall, the installation of panels and Tesla Powerwall batteries went very smoothly. Since installation, the system has been generating power reliably. I am happy with the overall installation and the system is working quite well.

No one calls us back and there is no ETA on the part but they let the lender know the job is done so we have to start paying on a loan when the system is incomplete. It's not really about the money but more about the principle. I've been told the check will be in the mail next week a few times. Failed inspections also causing delays. Work was done on my system and installers left without turning my system breakers back on for days. I had to call back to confirm if they were left off intentionally or accidentally. Installers showed up to work without any appointment or notification, luckily I was home that day on my day off. Even once you find a handful of companies with good ratings, if you have a smaller job/project, others can become unresponsive after initial requests and waste your time. But Sun Craftsmen were great. Their tech Luis came out almost same day, figured out a good solution and had a reasonable quote soon after. He was able to come out within days and complete the work efficiently without issue. Would definitely look to them again with any bigger projects in the future.

I contacted Solar Optimum for a home backup battery installation using an Enphase 10C battery. They…read moreinitially quoted me $10,146.50 for the project. Before conducting a site inspection, they required me to sign a contract and pay a $500 deposit. After completing the site plan, they informed me that a panel upgrade was necessary and that the battery would need to be installed in an inconvenient location. These changes increased the project cost by an additional $3,700, bringing the total well above the original quote. I was surprised by such a significant price increase and decided to cancel the project. I then requested a refund of my $500 deposit. It took nearly two months and more than ten phone calls before I finally received an answer. At that point, I was told that the deposit was nonrefundable because I had signed the contract. I find it unreasonable that Solar Optimum required a signed contract and deposit before conducting a proper site assessment, then substantially increased the price afterward and refused to refund the deposit when I chose not to proceed. In my view, a thorough site inspection should have been completed before providing a quote and requiring a commitment from the customer. Based on my experience, I would advise potential customers to carefully review the contract terms and understand the refund policy before signing.
