I can't say enough good things about Barrett. He absolutely knocked it out of the park. From start to finish, the entire experience was smooth, professional, and honestly way better than I expected when dealing with electrical work. He installed GFI outlets, repaired and upgraded my circuit breaker for my EV charger, and converted my garage outlet into a proper high-voltage setup for charging--and everything was done flawlessly. You can tell right away that he knows exactly what he's doing. I rarely write negative reviews. I like the building up of people but here we are. You should read negative review RESPONSES. See how "professional" he is to those who disagree with him or provide negative feedback. He calls a Vet (a person who served our country) a coward and other disgraceful things. He demeans people by insinuating they are poor and that he will "help them" financially. Just disgraceful responses and furthermore proving unprofessional behavior. I was reaching out and created a project where multiple companies/ businesses can let me know their availability/ pricing etc. I was texting with the owner, Barrett. I accidentally provided my personal email stating that was my "fun" email and I IMMEDIATELY provided a secondary email I use for business and said that would be better and apologized for giving him the "fun" email address. Right after that exchange, we had scheduled a time and 2 hours prior. He even said he would correct the email and that was that. See screenshot. Thereafter, an hour prior to his scheduled arrival, his wife sent me a text canceling, insinuating I was looking for something else or wasn't serious because I ACCIDENTALLY provided my "fun" email. I'm happily married for over 20 years. I can assure you I'm not soliciting anything but electric work for my family home. To suggest otherwise is very unprofessional. I'm not sure if it's this is a wife being insecure over literally NOTHING because I just wanted someone to look at the 2 walls that don't have power or plain unprofessionalism, but either way anyone who conducts business this way will not find success. Homeowners know other homeowners and before yelp or Angie's list we ask each other who we've worked with or our experience with companies in the area. I hope you two can find better ways of communicating with potential/ actual customers. Mainly Mariela who was rude and unprofessional and insinuated something so laughable yet so crude and demeaning. Afterwards, she said I was unprofessional yet I'm not the one running a business and I felt my exchange was above board. I don't want to assume Mariela is a jealous or insecure person but I clarified an error and they tried to make it seem like a salacious exchange. I don't like my character being called into question. I hope that you examine your online behavior especially where there is a misunderstanding or disagreement so you can meet people with respect and not be dismissive, condescending, disrespectful and yes, UNPROFESSIONAL. Highly recommend!! I ended up getting my Rivian EV delivered a lot earlier than expected. Barret got back to me immediately, and actually ended up coming out that very evening to give me my quote in person. Rapid response, gave us an honest opinion. House is almost 50 years old ( mom lives there alone) and there were constant outage issues. Used hair dryer, no hall lights, use microwave, no coffee machine etc. Would go,outside and reset the breakers till they shut down again. Barrett was great, he gave us an estimate, explained what he thought was wrong, and explained what he thought was best solution. What a day in the neighborhood. I was looking to have an EV charging unit installed in my garage. I decided to hire Barrett from B&M Electrical Services because he was the most affordable. I'm recently widowed and need to save Pennies when I can. That saying goes "you get what you paid for", and this is what happened to me. Santa Clarita requires that all licensed contractors need to pull a permit to install EV charging unit. Barrett did not pull a permit. Barrett came out to do an assessment and he looked at my panel and made no mention that it was old. He took the job, he placed the unit, took my cash and when we noticed we did not have power, he took no action to help me. He bailed on me. I'm trying to get receipt from him. There are ethical electricians whom came to my rescue. Barrett: before you decide to put a charging unit in someone's home, please school yourself what the city requirements are. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. My mom needed a unit installed to charge her Tesla. Someone came out, only wanted cash, and then LEFT US WITH NO ELECTRICITY. While he was installing, some of the power went out in our house. I figured it was him turning off the electricity so he could work. Once he was finished, he was leaving and I asked, "when will the power come back on?" This is when he stated he never turned the power off and he never touched any of that stuff. Unfortunately I had to leave to take my son to school so I couldn't help my mom deal with him. He left our house stating he did nothing wrong and that was it. Well one of our brakers is now scorched. We have to get another electrician to come in and fix the whole panel. Now I understand if things happen, he didn't mean to do something, an error was made or whatever, but these people are doubling down saying they had nothing to do with our electricity and breaker. This must be one epic coincidence cuz wow. We tried to get them to come out and look at it again to see if they can do anything but they don't want to come out and the owners wife even called me a nasty name after I tried to get her to listen to me. We're not looking for any kind of come up, we just want our electricity fixed. These peoples customer service is horrendous. I implore you to find a different electrician. This is one thing you want to spend money on and not be cheap. Did I mention he would only take cash? Shady. Just responding to your comment-yeah maybe this could've happened with or without you but the way you and your wife have handled this is terrible. The reputable electrician who just came out here said that you didn't even do basic electrical work. And now you want to respond to me on a Yelp review?? AVOID!! NO, SERIOUSLY! HORRIFICALLY GASLIT AND RUDE for no reason, I am SHAKING from pure shock and incredible discomfort after Barrett just left I hardly EVER write reviews let alone negative ones but this was UNREAL I'd been shopping around for electricians to replace a burnt outlet and had narrowed down the ones I was considering going with to 2 companeis, this being one of them. Barrett had explained a different course of action than was the general consensus, which obviously stuck out to me, so I wanted to hear him out and go over what we'd be doing. He gave me a rough estimate and some options on the phone but said he could do a free estimate to get a more concrete idea. Next day he's at my house, I showed him the outlet in question, and he kept repeating the same options he already told me on the phone -- that was not why I had him come. We agreed to get a concrete estimate from him (not just a rough one on the phone) by taking a quick look at the outlet / inside / the breaker to know just how bad, if that, it was. (This was a common thing almost everybody else I spoke to also offered as well.) He was there for a whopping 1-3 mintues MAX. I was polite, heard him out, and went on to ask a genuine question about why we couldn't consider the other method I'd been told countless times, to which he questioned why I questioned him. I said I just wanted to undersetand, in case everybody else had been giving me the run around and perhaps Barrett was the only one being honest, again -- this is why he intrigued me and stood out. Instead of answering, he just repeated the same options as before. I asked my question again, then he suddenly changed his entire demeanor and body language to that of someone offended or uncomfortable and wanting to suddenly leave, repeating that he's given me his options and that he doesn't have "hours" to "debate" with me -- to which I said of course, neither do I, that we've only spent a couple minutes together so far (literally), and to rest assure I'm not debating, just trying to understand this one thing. Never in my LIFE have I encountered any "professional" who immediately created a scene and state that he's leaving all because of a to-be-expected customer question... what the..? As I walked him off the property, I tried again to politely explain and reassure him the above, and like a broken record he repeated the same things about not having time to debate, how he gave me his options, and now he's leaving which made me feel so incredibly GASLIT, so uncomfortable and CONFUSED, as if I'd done something wrong. Barrett is a gaslighting king. B&M don't even try to counter this review. If you didn't know, a customer is ALLOWED to ask a genuine question if they're going to be spending hundreds of dollars on you, without you taking it so massively personal and get so incredibly offended by it as if they'd done some awful. Do you know how strange and wildly manipulative that is? You just want customers who don't ask anything and are willing to throw money at you just like that? This screams SCAM. Barrett is the man! One day I noticed my power was wont working in the house so I called and spoke with Barrett on the phone as I found him on yelp. The man had good ratings so I decided to give him a try. He came by and as soon as he opened the panel it literally blew up and almost injured the man. I felt sooo bad but luckily he wasn't hurt. If he hadn't come that day who knows my house would have burned down. Long story short, the cause was due to my main panel only being 125amps and not providing enough power so it over exhausted. Barrett gave me a good quote to replace the panel to a 200amp but of course I wanted to avoid spending anything out of pocket. Barrett was patient and generous enough to help me call and explain the situation to my home warranty company and home insurance. Unfortunately, this was not covered. I was left with no choice but to pay myself. Barrett was very comforting and went out of his way to drive 45 min to be able to find the new panel parts and returned the next day and got my panel installed. Barrett and his wife are excellent team. Barrett is very knowledgeable and patient and went out of his way to help me as he was very understanding of the situation. His plaster/drywall paint contact Antonio and his partner were awesome. They were able to get the wall back to normal after the wall had to be cut up around the old panel. After everything was done it was like nothing ever happened. They clean up afterwards too which is a plus. I recommend Barrett and Antonio. read more
