If you care even a little about your pet don't even bother going here or even getting medications through here. You are better off just taking your pet to the emergency clinic. I'm sure not all staff but a lot don't care and are nasty to you when any issues arise. read more

I'm following John's review from 2022. I took my dog to Country critters, a sister vet, and it seemed that I received decent service, and the vet explained what he that was going on with my dog. However I had to take my dog to South Anderson Vet, the other clinic. A woman there named L. Was extremely rude, literally stuck her tongue out, and said that my dog was not a serious case. I went into this feeling optimistic. Everything sounded good over the phone and I understood I would be a new client so it took a couple of weeks to get my dog in. Office visit upfront for new patient? OK, not unheard of I guess and no reason to think badly at this point. Fast forward from February 2nd, first contact to today, the 13th. First ones there, even before the door were unlocked. After going in and talking to the tech, it was going to be sedated nail trim and take care of the rest of the visit purpose (vaccinations, health check, etc while she was under). First call at 9:56AM was just to see how she was doing. The one of the call was she was getting along fine with what was being done and would get a call when she was ready to pick up. I call back at 1:46PM and explain I really need to know the time we are looking for her to be ready due to work related activities on my end. The receptionist went back to get one of the tech's on the phone with me. As it would turn out they had done NOTHING with the dog. FIVE HOURS sitting in wherever they decided to confine her and no shots, no nothing except "the vet will be on soon" so I told them I am coming to get her. Not only do they come off as cruel and uncaring, they take no accountability there. It is out of their hands, it is because of this just a smirk as you collect your stressed out pet and leave for good. I am seeing what other actions I can take for this incident and give it the incident as much exposure as possible. read more

My father in law got his cat fixed today. They called to ask if I wanted his cat to have pain meds by injection by the vet or liquid at home. They called again when he was ready for pickup. I go pick him up and they tell me the charge is much higher and I asked why? She said we have to give the cat flea treatment. My father in law is on a fixed income and he got the cat fixed at a discounted rate. They could have called me about this for permission. Luckily I paid for this as my father in law did not have the money for the flea treatment. This whole process is a disaster. When you get to the vets office, you are not allowed in. You must call and let them know what parking spot you are in. Also, before making an appointment, you have to do a meet and greet which is weighing the cat and nothing more so that was a waste of time. I will not be back to South Anderson Vet. read more

Have a puppy and at his first shots we discussed getting him nutured. Vet didn't know if other vet was available because he was on vacation. She stated she would find out. Three weeks later we discussed it again and she stated the same thing I will ask and leave him a note. Three weeks later was told they would find out. And of course no note was left for other vet.I walked in lobby and receptionist stated it's scheduled. I even was emailed the date we had picked. Vet comes out and moves it a week earlier. Said they can't do it that week due to vacation.Also on second visit was told no fecal exam. Came in third visit and was going to get charged for one. This vet is all over the place . Took 6 weeks to find out if they can't do a surgery due to a vacation. We had to get another week. We have to wait 6 weeks to find out and now we have to adjust our schedules again. They really need to get scheduling fixed. If it wasn't due to it being so close to our house I would be highly motivated to look for alternatives in the future. Skip forward to March 2023 and we took our 4 year old Rottweiler their for his annual shots. When we got there, we went in the room and the vet walked in. As soon as we started talking to her, I could tell she was in a bad mood, my wife and me and my dog sinced it. She didn't look at my dogs, teeth, ears feet during exam. They started putting peanut butter on the wall and I wanted to make sure that the wall was clean before they did. That didn't seem like they like me asking that question then they try to give my dog a shot and he squealed and was moving around a lot , so now they sent us home with pills to come back next time which we were fine with. Me and my wife were talking about how the Dr. had a bad attitude after they left the room. I looked up and there's cameras in there. I don't know if they eased dropped on our conversation and heard us talking about it. A week later we get a bill in the mail they state it was for a future exam when we come back in next time. We questioned it and they must not have liked it. A couple days later I got a text saying they canceled our dogs appointment and also canceled our boarding in for July 2023. Immediately we tried to call and find out what was going on. They would never answer the phone they know who's calling. So after work, my wife went down there to find out in person what was going on since I cancel all of our appointments. The receptionist behind the counter name, the receptionist stated we were fired. So my wife was asking what does that mean? She said that's what it means you're fired. You guys are rude to us, and your dog was aggressive. My dog was going there for over four years. He is a big baby never been aggressive. One of the customer service representatives even came over before our appointment and petted our dog. And were saying how cute he was. I believe this, Vet used his breed to cancel us as clients. They tried to give him a shot, and he wouldn't sit still, he was moving around a lot. He has never been aggressive. My dog sinced the Vet was in a bad mood .We were not rude we questioned our bill.The vet was in a bad mood, and they did not like us questioning them. How they handled things with an unethical. Instead of saying, we will no longer accept your clients we were told we were fired. Even when they text us to cancel our boarding in July, they had the audacity to capitalize the whole text. I am glad this happened because I found a better more caring vet and border. Beware, of this Unethical Vet! read more

I am not happy at all with the service I recieved. Our family got a puppy few months ago and suddenly it stopped eating and started looking sick. I brought the puppy to the clinic and hoped for the best. My wife was calling the clinic while I had the puppy and 2 kids in the car. They come outside swab the dog and tell me she has parvo. I've never heard of parvo so I ask them to explain it to me. The lady talking to me face to face acted like if we either paid between 1-3 thousand dollars a night and have her hospitalized or spend over 500 and get an at home treatment she has a really good chance of making it. Not a 100% chance but a good chance.. We like most Americans don't have an extra 5-10,000 laying around so I get the at home treatment. We honestly didnt have an extra $500 laying around either, but the lady told me how to get a pet credit card to pay for it. Well, the lady who spoke to my wife said the dog did not have a good chance of making it if it wasn't hospitalized. In fact it had a less than 50/50 chance of making it. We bring the dog home, do everything we're told , but that night the dog gets worse. I call them back. They say all I can do it have her hospitalized for 1-3 grand a night and actually sound annoyed by me calling them. Our dog passess within 12 hours of leaving the clinic. It was the worst 12 hours of my families lives. Words cant explain how hard it was on all of us.My family it traumatized and now financially in a tough spot. I just wish the lady face to face with me and my kids would have been more honest like the lad y on the phone. I would have had the dog put down and would have saved our dog and my children 12 hours of horrible pain. read more

The family dog had a UTI, so we took her in to South Anderson Veterinary Clinic. During COVID, we had to stay in the car and communicate with the vet through the phone, which worked out just fine. The staff member who asked us questions and took our dog in and out of the building was very nice and helpful. The bill ended up being a little pricey, but it's understandable as they did x-rays on our pup. Overall, a very nice experience! read more

My dog has a heart murmur. It's gotten worse over the years (he's 16 now - 112 in people years.) Doctor said they needed to do an ultrasound to see if it had gotten worse. I was given two choices - a $75 ultrasound or a $331 ultrasound. I went home to check my budget. I took him back and told the tech I wanted the $75 first and if that didn't give enough i nfo, we'd go with the $331.. She took him away. Doctor showed me the results. The tech handed me a bill foe $331. Felt like I'd been given the "old bait and switch" What was I to do - pulled out the good old credit card. Probably won't go back there again!! read more

Horrible clinic, office manager couldn't care less about their own screwups. Starved a kitten we were boarding there, when we left specific instructions on what and how much to feed her. Also clipped her claws without our permission. Office manager had only excuses, and couldn't have cared less about losing a customer of several years. read more

I have used South Anderson Veterinary Clinic's services for many years and have always been satisfied. The ladies that work the desk are nice, the vets have been able to diagnose/treat all issues for both my cats and dogs, and the prices are more affordable than other vets I have used. I was really excited about this place, as the staff seemed friendly and caring towards the animals, then it was recommended that one of my dogs get xrays for "possible" pneumonia. So the first xrays they took apparently weren't good enough, the dog moved. Probably they didn't place and restrain her from moving..obviously needed for something as important as xrays, so they did it again. Then found out they could have just prescribed antibiotics anyway, because they can't "prove" that kennel cough or anything else led to pneumonia. So I get slapped with a 300 plus bill for BOTH xrays, the ones they messed up and the ones I apparently didn't really need in the first place. I'm glad they think people just have hundreds laying around for useless services. read more
