Bowser, our new best friend we adopted at the humane society, the staff was so accommodating.

We submitted an app from nky and the staff put our Bowser on hold for us, they were very accommodating. They made the experience very thorough and felt very comfortable. This was our first adult dog we adopted and we are so happy we did. We had a little behavior issues at first and the staff at the society helped us through the experience. Mr. Roger's always said, "look for the helpers" when life gets you down. Those are all the workers at this establishment. Glad they connected us with our new best friend and took good care of him.

This is SUCH a nice humane society. We aren't 100% ready for a pet, but we went to go look at our options and had a blast. The woman at the counter was super friendly and led us to the cat area. You're allowed to freely walk around and the only rule was "don't put your fingers in the cages" (I think as a COVID guideline). The cages were nice and big, and there were a few open rooms for "play time." I felt great knowing that they get to leave their cages sometimes. Most of the cats were really new to the shelter, so I was also happy to see that people have been buying pets like there's no tomorrow. We walked through the dog section as well, which is always harder since they all start barking so loud when you walk by, and we felt bad riling them up. We were therefore only in their area briefly. We'll be back!

Always a great experience volunteering at the Humane Society in Hamilton County. The moved into a new building with lots of space and always need extra help. It's a great way to spend some time with the family and help support a great cause.

They'll take your picture outside the garage to commemorate your adoption!

Me and my boyfriend went here after seeing a dog online that we wanted to meet. Upon arriving, everything was super organized and there were point people for each part of the process (i.e. welcome desk, adoption center, dog runs, cat rooms, dog play area). Everyone was super nice and knowledgeable about all the dogs in the facility! The facility itself was extremely clean, didn't smell or sound like a shelter and had classical music playing for the dogs. We easily found the dog we were looking for and quickly applied to adopt so we could meet her. The adoption process was super fast, and they allowed us to use our apartment contract to determine what breeds we could have since our apt complex's office was already closed. The total time to get approved was 10 minutes. The dog we wanted to see was put on hold for 24 hrs so we weren't able to see her that night. However, when we called back the next day to inquire if she was available, they remembered us and told us to drive over immediately! We met her, they answered all our questions and gave us pointers on what she may need in a household. We adopted her that weekend! With our adoption they gave us a free first health exam, free rabies, free first month health insurance, free microchip registration for a year and a goodie bag with food, toys and coupons! The adoption fee was way lower than a lot of the private shelters in the area. After about a week they even called to check in and see how she was doing. I highly recommend this humane society if you're looking for a new member to add to your family!

My Nala very happy to be on a couch again!

They try to lie about their pitbulls and pit mixes and purposely will call some different breeds. Be careful.

As far as shelters go this one is cool... Better set aside an afternoon though, service is pretty slow.

We adapted our puppy 2 weeks before we started our class and we right before adapting knew that First Friend would be the only place to be for training our puppy. In 8 weeks, we had an amazing, well trained puppy who was so obedient, and well mannered. This was done through weekly classes and reaffirmation of 10 mins training everyday. I didn't have the time to train more but I stuck to the same schedule and Bruce's training concepts and it was GOLD! Highly recommend Bruce for your First Friend, you will NOT REGRET it! This is so essential to create the best experience for your puppy and YOU!

Highlights: + They have cats, so if you need a serotonin boost, a visit is a must +The cafe offers a handful of snack (even a gluten free option) and your typical cafe offerings. There is high top seating that has a perfect view into the cat room, as well as a few low top tables +They do offer a handful of cat themed items for purchase +the cat room is geared entirely towards the cats. There are tons of toys and places (high/low) that offer them to either be out in the open or a hole that offers them to escape and feel secure. There is also a room where their litter boxes are that also provides places for them to escape to and not interact with visitors if they do not wish to + There is always staff in the room to make sure to monitor the interactions with the cats and human visitors, enforce the simple rule to not actually pick up the cats (sadly some people truly can't understand this one), and answer any questions that might have +They rotate which rescues they work with. Also, they act as a safe space to interact with the cats, so adoptions, while they may be initiated through them, they don't actually approve you or take the fees for the cats. + Reservations are recommended as they do limit the number of individuals per time period. You can either select 30 minutes or an hour +They do offer additional events (i.e. Yoga or Painting with cats) if you are looking for a fun activity to do.

They're not the best I've ever had, but having a great option is nice! I've had some dairy free chai and matcha lattes here and both were good! The cat room is accessible for $10 per half hour. This seems to be about the going rate for this type of experience now, though it feels a little pricey to me. (Maybe because I remember visiting a cat cafe years ago for $5 per half hour.) Both times I've visited in the past year, on weekdays, it wasn't crowded human-wise and there were plenty of cats! One visit, I mostly watched them and chatted with the attendant. One cat crept onto my lap and purred while I pet her on the couch. The other, there were playful cats about and my mini BFF and I were able to use some of the cat toys for most of the visit. Both experiences were great! The bathroom has been clean both visits. There are fun extras like cat figurines and cat ear headbands you can purchase. I know they do events here like yoga with cats, but I haven't been to any of those yet. If you sign up for their email list, they send updates with all the events they do and it's fun to see everything they put together! I enjoy cats, but can't have one of my own at the moment, so I'm looking forward to my next visit here for my coffee shop kitty fix.
