The first thing to hit you is the smell. Rotten, salty fish. It smells like a rotten, fish market. No one there speaks English. I wanted to try a durian fruit, as I'd never had it before. But, after going there about 10 times, I finally began calling. Impossible to find a person that actually speaks English. Also, they only get the exotic fruits about once a month, or less. I bought a bag of mangosteens that had just come in, and every single one was rotten.
I did finally buy a Durian. It cost about $75 at $15/pound. And, I bought the smallest one. It was okay, and I satisfied my curiosity. I'd never had it before, but it fit the description from the internet.
