This is the most complete and wonderful art studio I've been to. They have pottery making, pottery painting, glass and fabric art to do. The teachers are very friendly. The owner's dog is also super sweet. I painted a pottery, didn't make it from scratch but picked the unpainted one from the shelf and paint it. They have special colors that can make very pretty texture and requires no skill whatsoever. It's very relaxing and fun. They'll fire it for you in 1-2 weeks, then send a text for pick-up. It's a long drive from me but the pottery I got is really worth it! read more

I came here for the very first time with 14 other friends--it was for a birthday, and we all got to do handbuilding and used the pottery wheel. It was 15 total guests, which I feel is quite a lot of people to try to wrangle and teach. But the folks at South Bay Artist Studio were incredibly kind, patient, and attentive! Knowledgeable and friendly staff. We were instructed by Anne at the wheel and Lindsey was the assistant for Freeform clay modeling. Both were fantastic. The owner, Sara, was there to organize us and get us going. They did an excellent job for us, a party of 10. We rented the studio for 3 hours and it was the perfect amount of time for us to do both clay activities. The place was very clean and organized. We wore aprons and I left there without a smudge of clay on me which was awesome. We loved that we could bring in snacks to munch on. Everyone in my group really enjoyed themselves. Although we were a group of adults, you wouldn't know it because it was not just a kid activity. It was thoroughly captivating and calming. Anne and Lindsey were very sweet and gave very clear instructions. Would highly recommend for big groups, small groups, and people of all ages. We had a really epic time. What can I say - I have found my people! I have always wanted to learn how to make ceramics and took a class in a whim with a GF. Now, two classes and 10 pieces later, I'm hooked and can't wait to get my hands into the clay. It's a nurturing community but big hug to Katie C who was my first instructor. I attended a vision board workshop led by Sara and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a little apprehensive about it at first because I don't consider myself to be especially creative or artistic, but was pleasantly surprised. Sara walked us through the process, outlining various approached we could take and quickly put us all at ease. There were supplies galore so we had everything we needed to create something special. This place is fantastic! I went to a Vision Board creating class for the New Year. There were about 10 wonderful women there to create their own unique visions for 2020. Sara did a great job introducing the project and giving us a little information to get us started but then we were on our own. We had every possible art supply available to use that you could imagine - watercolors, markers, glitter, glitter glue, scissors, beads, etc. They supplied absolutely everything we could possibly need, even the magazines. Sara and her crew did a great job facilitating the group and giving us suggestions without stifling our creativity - they made the experience even more amazing The energy and conversation in the room between all of the women was palpable.
