    Short Rib Buns

South Bay on Greenwich Ave was a very nice surprise. I cannot believe it has taken me so long to try it out and I cannot wait to go back. We ordered quite a few things as our eyes were very large as we read the menu. The Crispy calamari is at the top of my favorite fried calamari I've ever had it's a must order. The steamed buns were beautifully presented and delicious. The tuna tartare was pretty good. The homemade chips were great, but the tartare itself was a bit too blended and didn't have pieces of tuna. The grilled octopus was plated well and quite good. Perhaps it was slightly over cooked, but I'll definitely order again. The entrees counties to please. Cioppino is probably my favorite dish so whenever it's on a menu, I must try it. It was quite good and perfectly sized. My guests also ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, which had great presentation, but could have used a tad more flavor and the Burger, which was a huge hit. I was shocked when everyone still had room to try a treat from the dessert menu. The Cheesecake was the winner and although it was it came with strawberry jam, it definitely was a blackberry sauce. However, it was delicious nonetheless. The vibe is fun, the bar festive and inviting and the decor comfortable chic. I highly recommend South Bay!!!

Meh the food was only ok. I got the eggplant tagliatelle which was so salty and the pasta was over cooked. Service was good though and the inside is very nice to look at.

Hopped over for lunch after visiting the Bruce Museum and were not disappointed. Sat at the bar and enjoyed great service. Crispy chicken bao buns were really great as were the steamed muscles but the Maine lobster roll took the cake! Will def go back. Bartender told us there is a DJ on Fri & Sat. May be worth checking out!

Lunch date :) Organic Kale and Quinoa, halibut fish tacos, and bao buns.

We came here for a lunch date for a special occasion and were happily surprised with the food. My lunch date and I got the crispy chicken bao buns, halibut tacos, and the organic kale and quinoa salad. Everything was incredible and fresh. The only issue was our waiter, who wouldn't finish listening before walking away and actually ended up wordlessly taking our dessert plate away from us WHILE we were eating it, leaving us in shock. He literally just came by and snatched the plate off the table with us eating mid-fork in the air. The reason ended up being he forgot to add a sparkler on given it was a special occasion, but it was very bizarre and rude. Though we still tipped over 20%, the impression we left with was South Bay place has its regulars whom the waiter was extremely friendly with and more attentive to (even walking away to seat them while in the middle of taking our order) because he might not find new customers worthwhile. That being said, the busboy was very polite and more professional than our waiter, who didn't come back once to ask us whether we needed anything else.

Our new favorite restaurant! We had another great time here with excellent service from jhoan, a warm greeting from the manager and incredible food from the best chef in Greenwich, Justin! The choice of spices and the way he puts together all the ingredients is amazing. He makes healthy food taste delicious. Tried the burrata, Mezze platter, Brussels sprouts salad, and Bao Buns. Everything was fantastic! We can't wait to come back with our friends!

South Bay has offers both intimate seating and a lively bar area. We had dinner at South Bar as part of their New Year's Eve 2023 celebration and loved the cocktails, seafood, and pasta dishes. I was amazed that my truffle pasta actually had shaved black truffles within -- a trait that is oddly rarer than it should be for a truffle marketed pasta dish. Great job!

We made reservations for Valentines day and we were not disappointed. The ambience for the day was amazing. They were playing all the best music over the sound system. Ok now the food, we had the best food experience and service. We started with the fried calamari it was made to perfection. My beautiful wife had the Ciopino and she loved it and a must get if you visit. I had the NY strip and they made sure to cook it the way i ordered it, and then our server Yoan was very attentive and made our visit very special. When in Greenwich CT stop by and you wont regret it.

    Grilled Octopus

Grilled octopus appetizer was tops, crispy on the outside, over chunky hummus, side salad with olives and roasted peppers. Crispy artichoke salad with arugula-so fresh and delicious. Raw oysters were so fresh! Best Bloody Mary ever!

Beautiful restaurant and amazing service. We went on a Tuesday night around 7:15 and it was very quiet compared to other restaurants. That didn't bother me too much. The food was delicious. We ordered Burrata salad, which was okay.. then halibut tacos, which were delish! I ordered clam pasta and my boyfriend ordered seafood pot pie for entree. Both were excellent and so fresh tasting. I would stick with the seafood here as everything tasted so fresh and seems like their signature offering

    Seared Chilean Sea Bass
    Joel S.

Everything was top notch. All parties had some form of fish. I personally had the Sea Bass which was cooked perfectly and had delicious sides to go along. We had a brussel sprout appetizer that was supurb as well as a calamari for the table. The wine we selected was top notch especially for the price and the service was friendly and attentive. We ate outside which was a smart move as there was a large party inside and as such it quite loud indoors. If that suits your fancy, then you would have been fine.

South Bay is perfectly fine 3.5 star restaurant. Your order won't be "great". It will be "slightly better than "good enough".

We had the private dining room because we were a party of 10. Very nice menu and an excellent wine list but on the pricey side. Started with crispy Calamari with a lemon caper tartar and a crispy artichoke with lemon aioli, Friese, peppers, and pecorino cheese. Both were very good. For mains. my wife ordered the scallops with mushrooms and asparagus risotto. She truly enjoyed it. I opted for the herb crusted lamb loin since I am a rack of lamb lover. It came with farro and sautéed spinach. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Others in the group raved about the pork chop. For dessert, we tried the chocolate mousse, chocolate ganache and chocolate cookie crumble. Much denser than a regular mouse, very good. Also the brown butter creme Brule. Almost as good as my mine which I got the recipe from a family friend Paul Bocuse.

Decor was fresh and clean and the tables were not tightly packed so we had some space and a bit of privacy. Our waiter, Maximilian was fabulous. He knew the menu well and guided us through it all. Next we had the king crab sushi rolls. They were very good, and no complaints, but was probably the weakest bite of the night. Mains - Well, my wife had the Lobster pasta. Homemade (in house!) spaghetti; tomato base with zest and tons of flavor and a bit of a kick; chunks of lobster. Rave review! I had the burger. Did not dissapoint! Cooked medium rare -- to perfection. The blend was delicious and the sauce and bacon jam all just had a party in my mouth. Top 3 burgers ever. For dessert, we indulged int he warm chocolate "cake". Not a liquid lava, but a smooth as silk chocolate bomb with a (strong) hint of orange and a side of sesame gelato. (if I had to pick on anything at all, the color of the black sesame gelato was a bit odd, but that's it). It all just worked! Delicious to the very last bite. No processed flavor here. Just great flavors in a combination that was a perfect end to a perfect meal. Thank you Maximilian and kudos to the Chef team. We Will be back!!

After doing a little research, I came across The Wheel, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. I made a reservation for Sunday brunch. Finding the entrance was a little confusing at first, and parking took a minute to figure out, but I eventually learned you can park for free at the Village next door, which made things much easier. Once I arrived, I was immediately greeted and shown to the outdoor seating area. Walking through the restaurant, I was impressed by how beautiful the property is. It is incredibly spacious, sits right on the water, and even has an additional outdoor area next door where you can relax away from the restaurant. The views alone make this place worth visiting. Our server, Freddy, was fantastic. He was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the menu, answer questions, and offer recommendations, which made the experience even better. Now onto the food. To start, we shared the Breakfast Pizza, topped with smoked bacon, crispy potatoes, roasted garlic, mozzarella, two eggs, and fresh cracked black pepper. It was a fun twist on brunch and had great flavor. We also ordered the Shrimp and Grits, made with cheddar grits, wild caught shrimp, a poached egg, and chimichurri. Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich looked outstanding. Made with organic Murray's chicken, hot honey, coleslaw, and dill pickles, it came with fries and disappeared quickly. For my entrée, I ordered the Steak and Eggs, featuring grilled hanger steak, two eggs, breakfast potatoes, and chimichurri. The steak had excellent flavor, although I ordered it medium and it came out closer to well done. It was my only real issue with the meal. We also tried a couple of cocktails. The Orange Crush was refreshing and perfect for brunch, while the bourbon, Aperol, peach, Earl Grey, and lemon cocktail was smooth, balanced, and equally enjoyable. Dessert was the perfect ending. The Take 5 Sundae with peanut butter crunch, pretzels, whipped cream, vanilla bean caramel, chocolate ice cream, and hot fudge was absolutely delicious. We also had the Tres Leches, topped with strawberries and vanilla whipped cream, which was light, moist, and a great way to finish the meal. Overall, everything we ordered was delicious. Aside from the slightly confusing entrance, parking, and my overcooked steak, the entire experience was outstanding. The waterfront setting, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere, and quality food make this one of the best brunch spots in Stamford. I will definitely be back. Next time I already have my eye on the Banana Buttermilk Bread, Village Breakfast, Braised Short Rib Hash, Wheel House Burger, Margherita Pizza, Smoked Salmon Pizza, and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich for myself. For drinks, I want to try the Charred Citrus, One in a Melon, and the Orange Crush. And I definitely need to save room for the Vanilla Bean Cheesecake.

Favorite dish selections per voting of the table, were the brussel sprouts (~$20), calamari (~$20), and NY strip (~$50) specifically because of the tallow fried rice that laid underneath the steak! Although we enjoyed the quality and quantity of food, the service was quite slow. Our waitstaff didn't come by very often to take drink orders, refill water glasses, or follow up. It didn't seem too busy that evening, so we were a bit surprised. We stayed in the dining room on this trip, but hope to come back for a nice evening when the outside patio area is available.

The fries were crisp and did their job, but again, more supporting act than standout. Where the meal really turned was dessert. The Tangerine and Ube mousses were easily the highlight of the night. Both had a clean, refined presentation and a smooth texture that felt more thoughtful and elevated than the rest of the meal. The tangerine was bright and refreshing, while the ube brought a subtle richness that rounded things out nicely. It was the one moment that felt memorable.
