What a special little place! The food was very good! We stopped to grab a quick breakfast bite and were surprised by the overall homey feeling of this place. My partner ordered a Western Omelet (see pic below) and it was definitely a hit! Yummy and juicy! Not greasy at all, good and simple omelet dish. We don't eat much bacon these days, so we asked for no bacon. One recommendation if you get this omelet: add some onions (if you are a sucker for onions like us). Pancakes were simple and exactly what we were looking for! You can taste the blueberry and they add a bit of cinnamon which adds that kicker to it. I thought the pancakes were a good portion, you can share between 2/3 people (as a dessert item). The server was caring and attentive. They were having some construction going on inside the place, fixing the AC or installing a new one. The place was a bit disorganized but he apologized for the inconvenience and mentioned that summers are pretty brutal, so they wanted to ensure the customers wouldn't feel too hot inside. Delicious impromptu breakfast of huevos rancheros. If you've been to Mexico then this version may just bring you back to thinking of those climes. The service with a smile and forgiveness. Wow! Saw great reviews so tried this very unassuming place which was only two-tenths of a mile from the Courtyard. So glad we did. The food was fabulous. Everything was prepared perfectly, My wife had the Garden Omelette and I had the California, with Cheddar instead of the Pepper Jack. They were great and really large. We could probably have split one! We also split a Corn Muffin since they looked homemade. Great with coffee. Instead of giving us one that was displayed, they found a "fresher" one in the kitchen. As much as i hate to backtrack on a previously good review, i must say the service I've been getting must be mentioned. Like many small business that is starting to fail i have started to witness shortcuts in their products. Cheap slice cheese on a burrito instead of shredded cheese, fatty chicken chunks in the tacos but what my sister and i experienced takes the cake. We met up for breakfast and everything seem fine. The empanadas were very oily but thats fine. (Strike one). We had to get up to get our own ketchup and aji sauce and syrup. (Strike 2). We get our food and the pancakes were insanely dry. I literally had to drown it in syrup in order to be able to cut. I managed to eat half and gave up. So i went on to my eggs and turkey bacon. Some laborer decided it was a great idea to start replacing fire alarms right behind me. Thats disgusting. First,your all over my personal space. Second, its dusty. So we moved to the next table over. Waitress sonia or whatever her name is (odd woman that plays host/waitress) continues her seemingly insightful conversation with another man. I go up to complain and she gives me a sarcastic look with a smirk and proceed to say "yeah they should know better". Then processed to give me a bunch of excuses. No apology, no comps on our meal, nothing. We didnt even get a simple coffee check. When i didnt leave a tip she sacastically said " have a lovely day". Every comment here are from locals that dont speak english and/or friends of the owner. Small village cafe lives up to the name. If you not from this village you will not feel welcomed here. Before coming over to Small Village....my hubby forewarned me to have a back up place because I am breakfast place snob + coffee snob and Small Village might not live up to my expectations. However, I am not a snob to a hole in a wall places as long food is good. So I tried this place based on yelpers reviews. So we arrived on a not so busy Sunday. It is a small clean restaurant located pretty close to Home Depot. Coffee is good and I ordered what I came for, their 3 layer pancake. It is a family owned restaurant and very friendly. Coffee is served and you can refill yourself as much as you can . ( see pic). So here's my take on the pancake....it is pluffy, moist and delicious. My hubby is boring so he only ordered the Western omelet, which is good according to him. Overall, I am giving this restaurant a 5 star for price, service, coffee and great pancake. I will come back again to try the other breakfast entree. I don't care for price when I like the food but this place has great food with great price. Did you see my pancake? It is gigantic. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich and it was supposed to have tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and mayo it had nothing but 2 pieces of chicken with some Frank's red on it, second I had the guacamole which was good but the container was only half full definitely not work the money ohh and I also had a coupon for a free French fry with a $10 purchase and guess what that wasn't in there either.
