Christine spent time asking questions and really trying to understand what my body has been through instead of jumping straight into treatment. I appreciated that she looked at everything as a whole rather than just focusing on where it hurt. She scanned my body and also performed fire cupping where it made sense. I left feeling so much better than when I walked in. I also know this probably isn't a one-visit fix, and I actually appreciated that there weren't any unrealistic promises--just a plan to help my body continue healing. It was my first time seeing Christine, and she was kind about me being tardy. We did an intake session and then she used the short time we had left (due to me being late) for a massage. Christine first focused on my shoulders and neck where I hold pain. She incorporated stretches into the deep tissue massage. I had a heat lamp on my feet to warm them and relaxing music played overhead. I relaxed in no time. Next she massaged my face and jawline, reminding me occasionally to breathe deeply. It felt wonderful. I had a mild migraine when we started and it was gone when we were done. Christine is very personable and well educated in holistic healing practices. I'm looking forward to returning and also plan to look into her qigong classes.

I've had lower back pain for a while and thanks to the extensive consultation and evaluation, Croft was able to identify and show me where my issues were coming from. I basically have 4 moderate areas that need addressing. Croft will go over the details and prioritize which areas to tackle first and more importantly why. After the first session, I felt great. I had movement and mobility that I hadn't had in years and quiet frankly forgot that's how our bodies should be moving. My sacrum had been stuck where performing figure fours or cobras (in pilates/yoga) was near impossible. Now that I can move/bend/twist with a greater degree of rotation, these movements and thus the classes are much more enjoyable and challenging in the way it should be. I've seen considerable improvement with every visit. It is intense at times as the movement of the body (rotation/mobility/etc) is reconfiguring. As those 'moderate areas' start to realign, expect realigning to happen elsewhere until full head to toe alignment occurs. My left knee tended to turn in, with the sacrum finding mobility, my left knee felt very wobbly doing squats and other exercises I had not problem performing before. This is probably because my sacrum/hip alignment had improved that my knee needed to play catch up. Just be mindful of how you had done those movements before and engage slowly as you relearn proper form and technique with the new underlying alignment. Lastly the homework is crucial to not only maintain the benefit of the sessions, but to help facilitate the future sessions (2 steps forward, 1 step back when omitting the homework exercise). Through talking with her and the treatment I feel like I gained a better understanding of how I hold stress in my body. While receiving the treatment I had a memory of my father from childhood and a way that he held his body when he was concentrating that my sister and I used to laugh about. I realized, in that moment that I had the exact same stress holding patterns as my father. I think that after this treatment I have had better access to noticing when these neuro pathways are activated and being able to "hit the reset button " which usually involves slowing down and taking some deep breaths. Shanti has an online class called vagas nerve deep dive that I have started that is amazing so far. This class includes exercises that give you access to the parasympathetic nervous system. I was there for help with neck pain. Victoria did soft tissue work, stretches, gua sha, and a few careful adjustments. She followed up the appointment with an email that contained links to videos of exercises she recommends for me and info about Thera Cane, a muscle release tool that can get to hard to reach places. The office is clean and tidy. It is located on the second floor and I didn't see an elevator. They have a private parking lot in back. I am a 78-year-old male, retired, with chronic daily (24/7) headaches (NDPH type)…read more The headache began at 10: 30 AM on Dec 5, 2006, along with a temporary left ear hearing loss and a roaring noise in my head. Left ear hearing returned to about 50% and the roaring sound went away by 5 PM of that day, but the headache has remained. Then, the headache pain levels was about a constant 5-6 (with nausea and dizziness) with night time peaks of 8 or 9. Before that date, I had tight muscles. Muscle tightness is due to 1) long-term statin and niacin use, 2) frozen left shoulder (1977 to present (now gone)), and 3) scar tissue from 3-Way by-pass surgery. But, I believe that the muscle tightness is mostly due to long term statin use (a statin side effect for about 20% of individuals taking statins). It has been determined that the muscle tightness is causing the headache. I've seen ENT MDs, Neurologists, and regular MDs and none of their meds have helped much, except for Epidrin and the muscle relaxant; Zanaflex. Tried marijuana, but it made my headache pain level worse. I've tried physical therapy, Trigger Point Massage, upper cervical Chiropractor, Sport Med. MD, Cranial Facial Pain Dentist, Myofascial release (John Barnes), Bowen Therapy, acupuncture (saw 6 acupuncturists), chiropractors (saw 5 chiropractors), and an Osteopath, who specialized in skeletal-muscular problems. When, the Osteopath left the area, he suggested that I try Cranial Sacral Therapy. Of all the therapies that I tried, Cranial Sacral Therapy treatments have given me the most relief from the chronic daily headache. Jane Colaciccio is able to detect inflammationed muscles, by feeling the heat emanating from the affected area. Something like a thermograph device. I know, its hard to believe, but she does have that ability. Note, prior to seeing Jane, if anybody told me that somebody had that ability, I would not have believed them. My headache levels are now about 1 to 2, and sometimes, the headache is even gone. And I no longer experience the nausea or dizziness. UPDATE: In August 2017, Jane was able to overall loosen the upper body facia, so that she was able to work on the exact shoulder blade muscles that were causing the headache. After a few more sessions, the headache was mostly gone. I do, on occasion, get a headache when I am under stress or I sleep in the wrong position. However, to make sure that the headache does not return, I return to Jane to make sure the muscles do not tighten up again. I have a daily stretching routine, that also helps in keeping the muscles relatively loose. So thanks to Jane, both the headache and dizziness are gone!
